Photoshop :: Lightening Up - Pictures Just Come Out Grainy And Slight Purple Look?
May 6, 2012
I had about twenty seconds to take this picture last night but only to notice it is rather dark due to the limited lighting in that area. I have tried various settings in Lightroom to brighten it up enough to see the moon and the building in the foreground but the pictures just come out to grainy and a slight purple look. what i can do for this?

All my pictures lately have been coming out grainy and really chalky looking, i used to be able to do a line and it would be smooth, now its, well here's a pic. I want sharp clean images.
The size of the image is 405x288. I stroke a path with a size 1 brush then filled the bottom with bucket.

I use photoshop CS4 and have taken a couple individual photos of a hockey player on the ice. The hockey player is perfect but the background is so dark. How do I go about changing it to a lighter shade (actually REALLY lighter)

I have this picture of a wall mural. It is all in monotone creamy colours with some blacks and browns. There was lighting at the top of the wall. I should have used flash to even it at the bottom but couldn't ... so, what I would like to do is somehow make the lower part of the pic as bright as the upper part.

Can someone please let me know why I'm getting a color shift (the entire image lightens noticably) when I export an image or animated gif with "Save for Web & Devices...". It happens on PCs and Macs, and with both CS3 and CS2.
I've been using this feature (flawlessly until a few months ago) long enough to realize that there are several settings to adjust the color table, dithering, web snap, etc., but adjusting these settings don't seem to fix the problem. When I use "Save As..." the color shift doesn't occur, and that's been my workaround, but I'm currently trying to save a few animated gifs, which must be saved with "Save for Web & Devices..." in order to retain the animation.

Using Photoshop CS4 on Vista with a dell monitor.
I have the standard dell color profile set in windows for the monitor.
Whenever I save "for web and devices" I get a color difference between the actual webpage colour and the colours in the picture. So I searched about color profiles and I gather (I find this profiling thing very confusing) that I should set my photoshop profile also to the dell profile. So I did, but there now still is a slight difference.
For example, the color I use in photoshop is #12141A and once saved it shows up as #13151B

I have tried a number of different methods however I cannot seem to get rid of this problem. Every time I put together banners or any graphics/designs for that matter, whenever I save them and then display them I always end up with a slight blur. I am trying to get a really crisp finish but can never seem to get it right, please see attached photos .

I have been trying to make "lightening holes" for a Beech 18 wingtip bulkhead. Â It is basically a hole that is flanged on a 30 degree radius at 1/4 inch.
I have have had very little success trying to replicate this with the Sheet Metal Punch Tool (Round Emboss) but the iFeatures will not allow me to enter a value for the angle, diameter, and height.

I'm just starting to learn/play with PhotoShop but I've already came across one problem. Once I open photoshop, no matter what layer or background I'm in, the only colour that shows up is pink. Nothing else. Is there something wrong with my monitor? Should I try reinstalling Photoshop?

All of my images look grainy in the dark areas in CC, but not in CS5. Is there a display setting that I'm missing? Side note, the saved images look fine. They only look bad in the CC UI. Photshop CC and CS5 64-bit on Windows 7

i have a pic i took with my dig camera and a "border" for a birthday card that i want to use...the border is perfectly sized for a 4x6 pic...so i shrank the pic to 4x6 and added a new layer and placed the border on top of the pic....then i added a "Happy Birthday" text layer on top...when i saved the pic as a jpg and had it printed, everything was grainy....the words and border were the most obvious but the pic was nothing to write home about....
what should i do (even converting the RAW image to a jpg) to make sure the pic, border, and text come out nice and crisp?

I’ve designed the front and back covers in PhotoShop. However, they want the whole document in Microsoft Word. So what I did was make a text box and put the image in it and stretched it over the page.
When I do that, it’s grainy, AND it doesn’t cover the whole page.
Is there something I can do to make that work? Or is this not possible? TO get a clean image from photoshop into Word?

I've just recently recieved a digital camera as a gift, and through using it have discovered what i'm guessing is a problem in my Photoshop color settings. In the past i've largely used photoshop for web design work, and not really with higher quality large photos. Anyways, when i'm opening my photo's in photoshop i'm finding extra graininess. I'd blame the camera, but when i open the pictures with windows' image previewer, even at "actual size" the graininess is not as severe as it is in photoshop. Not having had the necessity, i haven't delved into the color correction etc. side of photoshop yet.

Today i've noticed that when i copy/paste a timeline from Premiere CC to AE CS6 unfortunately nothing happens. So i can't dynamic link or copy/paste footage in AE CS6. I can only use AE CC. Usually i make my edit in Premiere and then i use the same timeline in AE to do postproduction. If i uninstall AE CC can i be able to copy/paste my timeline in AE CS6 from Premiere CC?
I can't install Premiere CS6 because i use an MXO2 card.I can run AE,Photoshop and Encore CS6 with CC apps on the same machine, but not Premiere CC and Premiere CS6 at the same time.

Every image I open in Photoshop has a purple tinge to them. I think this must be a setting I have in the program. I can't even print screen it as when I do, it comes out in the correct colors. It doesn't do this in any other programs (indesign, illustrator etc)

running photoshop 7.0.1.
ive had it installed for about 6 months with no problems. came into work a couple of days ago, and my grayscale has been replaced with a purplescale?
if i create a new document, wether its rgb, cmyk, or grayscale, the shades that should be gray are now purple. no color profiles or color settings have been changed, and i checked with a co workers settings and they are the same, anyone know what is going on with this?
also i know its not my system, cause i just opened illustrator, and that grayscale is fine.
i have supplied a screenshot of the purps:

My color palette is all that ugly purple, and i'm not sure how to fix it, it will save and the colors will be fine, but if I look at it in photoshop it has a purple haze over it, and the only 2 colors I can use are purple and green. This happened before, and it fixed itself, but its been like this for 4 months, and i'm getting fed up..

I'm having this problem for a couple of weeks now and can't seem to figure out whats wrong. I've read dozens of websites & forums but can't figure out what's wrong. Maybe someone can help me out here.
I have a wide gamut monitor (Eizo S2231W) which i have calibrated with a DataColor Spyder3Pro. Since then the colors in Color-aware programs such as Photoshop, Safari and FastFiewer look way off. For example, the sky turns from blue to purple. I tried to re-calibrate a couple of times, deleting all ICC-profiles, re-install the software. Nothing helps me to get rid of this color shift. Well, getting rid of the Spyders ICC-profile solves it, but this device is supposed to improve my colors, not ruin it.

I have had Photoshop CC and have found large images (both RAW and JPEG) import really grainy. This hasnt happened with previous Photoshops ive owned.
when i scale the image size down it seems to remove most of the grain. ive found one other thread talking about this but they ended up agruing about termonolgy. Im not really keen for that.

I bet I've messed with some setting somewhere and forgot to change it back, but I can't for the life of me fix this problem.
It would be best if I don't have to add a blur to the gradient to get it to look right,

when I lighten up a photo certain dark areas (not all and not all the time) get very grainy / noisy looking. Is there anyway to remove or compensate for that? Unfortunately, I was shooting in very low-light level conditions and I could not use a flash (shots of horses). I would like to be able to get clean 8x10 prints out of these, but the grain is so bad.

In Graphics Editing software like Photoshop you can rotate an image ever so slightly to the left or to the right. I'm trying to super-impose a png of a head onto something and I would like to match the angle of the original head.
