Every image I open in Photoshop has a purple tinge to them. I think this must be a setting I have in the program. I can't even print screen it as when I do, it comes out in the correct colors. It doesn't do this in any other programs (indesign, illustrator etc)
View 1 RepliesTitle about says it... last night I noticed that images in CS, especially ones with blues, have a pronounced purple tint.
I've Googled the subject pretty exhaustively and came up with nothing except setting the color settings back to the default (which they were at), making sure the color profile is RGB (it is), and taking Adobe Gamma out of my startup group (I did).
Blues show up fine in ImageReady, just look purple in PS. Very weird.
I have PhotoShop CS3 and EVERY picture I open in PS is yellowed...I open then in MS Paint and they're fine, same as IE, FF, and default photo viewer. What is wrong with it? Just did a fresh install.
View 27 Replies View RelatedWhen I open one particular image in photoshop CS3 the thumb in the Open menu looks correct, but the image opens with a reddish tinge over the whole thing. If I then double-click the image layer in the Layers window, the Layer Style menu pops up, the tinge removes itself and the image looks as it should. None of the other images I've been working on have this happening. Does anyone know what's up here. This is a .psd file with no layers above the image layer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI built 3 profiles with ColorMunki for three different papers (I print with an Epson 3880). Using each of the profiles, a slight bluish tinge appears in what I'll call the "margin" of the prints. My tests were done on 4x6 paper, but the image was only about 5" wide--so there's a 1/2 inch "margin" between the edge of the image and the edge of the paper. The bluish tinge shows up here, but doesn't extend into the white border of the print. The weird part: the bluish tinge appears ONLY using the profiles. If I choose "Managed by Printer" everything is fine. No bluish tinge.

This could be related to LR 4.3, which I downloaded just before making and installing the profiles.Â
I'm just starting to learn/play with PhotoShop but I've already came across one problem. Once I open photoshop, no matter what layer or background I'm in, the only colour that shows up is pink. Nothing else. Is there something wrong with my monitor? Should I try reinstalling Photoshop?

ive had it installed for about 6 months with no problems. came into work a couple of days ago, and my grayscale has been replaced with a purplescale?
if i create a new document, wether its rgb, cmyk, or grayscale, the shades that should be gray are now purple. no color profiles or color settings have been changed, and i checked with a co workers settings and they are the same, anyone know what is going on with this?
also i know its not my system, cause i just opened illustrator, and that grayscale is fine.

My color palette is all that ugly purple, and i'm not sure how to fix it, it will save and the colors will be fine, but if I look at it in photoshop it has a purple haze over it, and the only 2 colors I can use are purple and green. This happened before, and it fixed itself, but its been like this for 4 months, and i'm getting fed up..

I have a wide gamut monitor (Eizo S2231W) which i have calibrated with a DataColor Spyder3Pro. Since then the colors in Color-aware programs such as Photoshop, Safari and FastFiewer look way off. For example, the sky turns from blue to purple. I tried to re-calibrate a couple of times, deleting all ICC-profiles, re-install the software. Nothing helps me to get rid of this color shift. Well, getting rid of the Spyders ICC-profile solves it, but this device is supposed to improve my colors, not ruin it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using WinXP/Home, Adobe RGB 1998 Color profile for both the image and Photoshop CS3. I print on Epson R2400, have freshly and properly installed inks and nozzles are not clogged. I have an image of a blue flower, and I do mean blue, not purple and not lavender. It is definitely blue on the monitor. It is blue in Bridge. It is blue in its jpg format and in its .psd format. When I print using the printer with Photoshop as color manager and print management off, the result is a purple flower. All the other colors in the image seem to be fine---green is green, yellowish is yellowish. When I print using printer color management(settings all properly done), NOT Photoshop's, I end up with a blue flower! Anyone with any ideas at all why this happens? I sure would appreciate knowing! I can do the workaround by letting the printer manage color, but seems to me that Photoshop really ought to be doing this. I have not noted problems with any other colors...only blue!

However, it seems as though I'm experiencing quite a bit more peculiar because this is the case with all JPEGs--includes files from my camera, phone, friend's camera, istock, etc. What's odd is that when I change the color mode from RGB to CMYK, (Image>Mode>CMYK Color), it displays the color perfectly.
I have checked color settings (ctrl+shift+k).It is obviously not monitor calibration.The only way I found to fix this was to totally uninstall PS, including saved settings/preferences, and reinstall. I did that two days ago and all was normal until this morning.

I've been using the channel mixer (most times the red channel) to covert images to black and white and there's noticable purple/green hues.
I've been getting pink or purgle lines bordering certain objects in my photographs. You can see them on the RAW images. When I merge them using HDR you can see how prominent the lines become. I'm not sure if the problem occurs in my camera (Canon T2i) or lens when I take the shot.I've tried using Color Range and the Magic Wand Tool but it is a tedious process.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to open photos - they are opening in blue-green-purple colors as if a filter is being applied. The color pallette is also appearing with the same blue-purple colors. In the layers pallette - the icon of the image appears in the normal colors and no filters, etc. have been applied. It's all starting from when selecting the photo to be opened in photoshop.Â

When viewed in Photoshop or Zoombrowser the blue looks ok.
Converted this morning to LR 4 and hundreds of my developed photos in all Collections now have purple streaks / banding / ghosting. I did not update to the 2012 developing engine so the same LR 3 sliders are still there. I tried a few of them with the new engine and new sliders and the purple banding is still there, and I could not adjust them away except to slide the tint slider to the left, which is a bad effect (makes the photos green). This is probably happening in one of ten photos. . I went back to LR 3 and the shots are perfectly developed.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedSay you have a irregular object that is in shades of red and you want to shade one one edge to from red to purple to indigo. You select specific red pixels and replace them with blues. You brush in the amount, area, and shape that you want to change without changing and other colours. You then select another shade of red pixel and used a darker shade of blue and brush over part of the area that you have already done to darken it. You repeat as necessary to get the effect you want.
I have tried masking and color select but the edges are too defined and not giving the effect that I want. Most of my less powerful graphics programs have this tool but unfortunately they can no longer handle the graphics I am working with.
If you have had the issue with blue plotting purple with HP printers I discovered that its with the quality you set your printer at. If you plot draft or preview your blue will plot purple or a shade of purple. When I switched the quality to normal it fixed the issue. I called HP about the issue before I discovered this and they said update your drivers which mine were already.Â

Problem is, all the lines or blocks etc within the drawing that are on colour 253 (a grey i use for certain elements of the drawing) are coming out purple when i print the drawing out!?
I used trace to do a trace of my image. I then used live paint to paint chunks of it. When I hovered over each bit, it would come up with a thick pink line and would fill in that line. So all was going well, I got everything the colour I wanted it, etc. I tried to export my image to a PDF and the purple lines that were so useful to me when I was doing live paint still showed up, but showed up as a white outline. I read forums and tried everything-deselected the keep ability to edit in illustrator and create acrobat layers from top level layers. But every time I try to open it in preview on the mac, the purple lines are still there. I can "click off of them" within illustrator, ie-select somewhere else on the page and it makes them go away, but even if they aren't showing up when I save it, they still show up on preview. I can't print it out like it is now!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI shoot in Camera RAW on a Canon 5D2 in LR3 and I'm having colour issues; skin tones are often purple/magenta tinted and very difficult to correct. I usually set the WB to Custom and shoot a grey card and set the picture style on the camera to Neutral (why does the WB affect RAW images anyway, I thought it only operated on the jpgs?)
On import, pics often look ok then resolve into higher contrast, garish colour versions which are less pleasing - have I set a preference incorrectly or am I missing something else?
