View 1 RepliesThe subject line basically says it all. The chromatic aberration tool in Aperture doesn't do much for me. Is there one in PSE 10?
View 11 Replies View Relatedif there were any plugins for fringe removal in photographs, i currently use the sponge tool or i mask off the offending area and use selective desaturation.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been getting pink or purgle lines bordering certain objects in my photographs. You can see them on the RAW images. When I merge them using HDR you can see how prominent the lines become. I'm not sure if the problem occurs in my camera (Canon T2i) or lens when I take the shot.I've tried using Color Range and the Magic Wand Tool but it is a tedious process.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best method for removing White Fringing on a photo that is seen when at 100% image size ? There can be a lot of it when looking at fences and such against the sky and ground.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to bring back the sky in these photos without altering the bride in the foreground, or anything other objects, aside from the sky. Admittedly I didn't expose for the sky and the stop difference between the foreground and background is quite drastic. There are three pictures. First to show what the overall picture is and what we're dealing with (I've already "locally adjusted" the majority of the sky with method 2 below). Second picture is to show you a sample of the artifacts and fringing. The third picture shows a sample of the halo situation.
I have tried two things:
1) Gradient Filter - As most of you are already saying in your head, it is not appropiate in this scenario as it messes too much with the foreground (the bride intersects over some of the sky, so it would be neccessary to to drag it down over her), to the point where the drop in exposure is too intense to bring her back. So that doesn't work.
2) Local Adjustment Brush - Tried everything with this thing, from auto mask on and off for both the painting and erasing afterwords, different feathering, no feathering, different brush sizes, etc. Nothing I have tried leaves me with a satisfactory final product, that is to say, no ringing artifacts, fringing or halos around the boarder of the bride where she meets with the sky. I am completely lost with what I should do! There is very little information available in other forum posts, and most of the information available is basic at best with suggestions like: "Turn on/off the auto-mask". This is becoming a growing irritation as I have this photograph and another one where I screwed up on my exposure and just burried the sky.
Last week I sold my Panasonic GH2 and bought an Olympus OM-D E-M5. My 14-45 Panasonic lens shows some nasty purple color fringing with the OM-D (not your ordinary green-purple chromatic aberration, but purple fringing on both sides of highly exposed items, such as steel wheel covers). This I never(!!) saw with the GH2. Fortunately I can correct this in Lightroom. I go (in Develop module) to lens corrections - color - remove edge (purple). This works really well, and I know I can synchronize all affected images. But I would like to have this done automatically, just as Lightroom automatically removes all color faults when using micro four-thirds Panasonic lenses with a micro four-thirds Panasonic body. This is done through special data supplied by Panasonic which are read and implemented by Lightroom (I believe).
Unfortunately this doesn't work when using a Panasonic lens on an Olympus body, which is my reason for this question. I can make my own profile using Adobe Profile Creator to automatically remove chromatic aberration. Reading the tutorial I get the impressions these profiles only remove normal chrom. aberration, not the special purple color fringing I am talking about. So: is there any way to automate this fringing, or do I have to work on all affected images in Lightroom using the technique I described?
I'm just starting to learn/play with PhotoShop but I've already came across one problem. Once I open photoshop, no matter what layer or background I'm in, the only colour that shows up is pink. Nothing else. Is there something wrong with my monitor? Should I try reinstalling Photoshop?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've composited 16 rendered frames to simulate movement. I did this by rendering one still of the entire scene, and then rendering 24 frames of the arm and boot ONLY in motion against a green screen. Then I overlayed the whole thing in CS, used the magic wand to select all the green screen in each layer, deleted that, adjusted the layer transparency, and then, when everything was set up, flattened the layers. The problem I ran into was this, a green "fringe" around the arm and boot on each layer that'd been green screened. I wound up having to set the magic wand tolerance to 175 to get the majority of the green, but that also ate some edge detail that I would rather not have lost. Is there a way around this?? It occured to me that maybe rendering an alpha image of each green screened frame to use as a mask might do the trick, but I don't have the software to automate such a process, or the time to do it manually.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery image I open in Photoshop has a purple tinge to them. I think this must be a setting I have in the program. I can't even print screen it as when I do, it comes out in the correct colors. It doesn't do this in any other programs (indesign, illustrator etc)

ive had it installed for about 6 months with no problems. came into work a couple of days ago, and my grayscale has been replaced with a purplescale?
if i create a new document, wether its rgb, cmyk, or grayscale, the shades that should be gray are now purple. no color profiles or color settings have been changed, and i checked with a co workers settings and they are the same, anyone know what is going on with this?
also i know its not my system, cause i just opened illustrator, and that grayscale is fine.
i have supplied a screenshot of the purps:
My color palette is all that ugly purple, and i'm not sure how to fix it, it will save and the colors will be fine, but if I look at it in photoshop it has a purple haze over it, and the only 2 colors I can use are purple and green. This happened before, and it fixed itself, but its been like this for 4 months, and i'm getting fed up..
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having this problem for a couple of weeks now and can't seem to figure out whats wrong. I've read dozens of websites & forums but can't figure out what's wrong. Maybe someone can help me out here.
I have a wide gamut monitor (Eizo S2231W) which i have calibrated with a DataColor Spyder3Pro. Since then the colors in Color-aware programs such as Photoshop, Safari and FastFiewer look way off. For example, the sky turns from blue to purple. I tried to re-calibrate a couple of times, deleting all ICC-profiles, re-install the software. Nothing helps me to get rid of this color shift. Well, getting rid of the Spyders ICC-profile solves it, but this device is supposed to improve my colors, not ruin it.
The colour blue on my photoshop has turned into purple?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLately I have been experiencing this weird problem. Every time I try to convert my image to grayscale mode, instead of just being black and white the image turns purple. Is there anyway to fix this problem? ....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using WinXP/Home, Adobe RGB 1998 Color profile for both the image and Photoshop CS3. I print on Epson R2400, have freshly and properly installed inks and nozzles are not clogged. I have an image of a blue flower, and I do mean blue, not purple and not lavender. It is definitely blue on the monitor. It is blue in Bridge. It is blue in its jpg format and in its .psd format. When I print using the printer with Photoshop as color manager and print management off, the result is a purple flower. All the other colors in the image seem to be fine---green is green, yellowish is yellowish. When I print using printer color management(settings all properly done), NOT Photoshop's, I end up with a blue flower! Anyone with any ideas at all why this happens? I sure would appreciate knowing! I can do the workaround by letting the printer manage color, but seems to me that Photoshop really ought to be doing this. I have not noted problems with any other colors...only blue!
View 9 Replies View RelatedTitle about says it... last night I noticed that images in CS, especially ones with blues, have a pronounced purple tint.
I've Googled the subject pretty exhaustively and came up with nothing except setting the color settings back to the default (which they were at), making sure the color profile is RGB (it is), and taking Adobe Gamma out of my startup group (I did).
Blues show up fine in ImageReady, just look purple in PS. Very weird.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had about twenty seconds to take this picture last night but only to notice it is rather dark due to the limited lighting in that area. I have tried various settings in Lightroom to brighten it up enough to see the moon and the building in the foreground but the pictures just come out to grainy and a slight purple look. what i can do for this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having quite a similar issue with PSCS4 displaying JPEGs with a dark purple cast. However, it seems as though I'm experiencing quite a bit more peculiar because this is the case with all JPEGs--includes files from my camera, phone, friend's camera, istock, etc. What's odd is that when I change the color mode from RGB to CMYK, (Image>Mode>CMYK Color), it displays the color perfectly.
I have checked color settings (ctrl+shift+k).It is obviously not monitor calibration. The only way I found to fix this was to totally uninstall PS, including saved settings/preferences, and reinstall. I did that two days ago and all was normal until this morning.
is there a way to remove or avoid getting purple & green hues in midtones (occasionally in shadows) when making images black and white?
I've been using the channel mixer (most times the red channel) to covert images to black and white and there's noticable purple/green hues.
I have edited photos and am unable to figure out how to remove the locks even though I have finished. They say work in progress. What do I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to open photos - they are opening in blue-green-purple colors as if a filter is being applied. The color pallette is also appearing with the same blue-purple colors. In the layers pallette - the icon of the image appears in the normal colors and no filters, etc. have been applied. It's all starting from when selecting the photo to be opened in photoshop.
