Photoshop :: Re-coloring Dark And Light Areas To Match

Jun 17, 2013

how to change the blue to red (using a brush in Color mode), but the problem is I want to make the whole ribbon solid red (the same look as the right-most stripe).  Cloning the red part over the rest?  tried painting with Multiply in the middle stripe and Color in the lefthand stripe, but that still gives me obvious distinctions where the stripes were.

Photoshop :: Get Red Pixels In Dark Areas When Converting Duo Tone Images To RGB?

Aug 6, 2013

I have been using Duotone with my photos, but since the other day, everytime that I process a photo this way, when I convert then back to RGB mode, the dark (black) areas of the photo become a kind of bitmap of red pixels. I have tried with many different photos from RAW or JPEG files and I get the same result with all of them.

This is an example of the issue. The original is on the left. What may cause this? The photo looks good in duo tone. It is when converting to RGB when the corruption happens.

Photoshop :: Image With Gradient Gets Black Spots All In Dark Areas

Mar 14, 2013

I am having a huge issue with Photoshop CS5.5. The gradients and colors are acting crazy. When I bring in a image with a gradient it gets black spots all in the dark areas. Even when I use the default gradient selection this is what happens. When I bring in a picture that should have a white background it turns to black. Now apparently, when I save it out as a JPEG saves correctly without the black line or messed up gradients. So it seems to only be an issue when I am working in Photoshop, the gradients appear messed up. What is wrong with my display?

Photoshop :: Lightening PART Of A Pic

I have this picture of a wall mural. It is all in monotone creamy colours with some blacks and browns. There was lighting at the top of the wall. I should have used flash to even it at the bottom but couldn't ... so, what I would like to do is somehow make the lower part of the pic as bright as the upper part.

Photoshop :: Color Shift (lightening) When Using...

Feb 21, 2008

Can someone please let me know why I'm getting a color shift (the entire image lightens noticably) when I export an image or animated gif with "Save for Web & Devices...". It happens on PCs and Macs, and with both CS3 and CS2.

I've been using this feature (flawlessly until a few months ago) long enough to realize that there are several settings to adjust the color table, dithering, web snap, etc., but adjusting these settings don't seem to fix the problem. When I use "Save As..." the color shift doesn't occur, and that's been my workaround, but I'm currently trying to save a few animated gifs, which must be saved with "Save for Web & Devices..." in order to retain the animation.

GIMP :: Aerial Photo Of Island - Make Water Areas Black And Land Areas White

Jan 29, 2013

In the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

I have been trying to make "lightening holes" for a Beech 18 wingtip bulkhead.  It is basically a hole that is flanged on a 30 degree radius at 1/4 inch.

I have have had very little success trying to replicate this with the Sheet Metal Punch Tool (Round Emboss) but the iFeatures will not allow me to enter a value for the angle, diameter, and height.

If I use the magic wand, It selects all the white. Then when I delete, it deletes the entire background and leaves only the black outline.

I want the black outline and the interior white area. How can I properly select this?

Photoshop :: Identifying Clipped Areas

Nov 6, 2013

What I want to be able to check is the areas of clipping in the shadows and highlights. Now I know Lightroom is very easy in the histogram, having a little warning button that will display when an area is off. What I've come up with so far for Photoshop is that there are only two tools, in the camera raw and in levels. Camera Raw is pretty self-explanitory, but I want to be able to check this in photoshop after I've done some work on the image. So I see that the levels tool you can click and hold on the triangle, and if you press the "Alt" key it will show you what areas are clipped. I'm not sure if I really understand it though, as it shows areas that aren't really clipped, e.g. a slightly darker area of sky is showing as light blue, but not a solid color, as being clipped. What is that?

I think that from the example above that say the reason the sky is showing a little cyan is that the red channel is being clipped in the dark sky only, and not the other channels. Do I need to be concerned about this for a good quality print? For best display on the web?
