Photoshop :: The Command (Invert) Is Not Currently Available
Jul 20, 2013Although a long time PS veteran, (currently CS5), for some reason I just never really got into the actions. Well a few days ago I learned a technique for making pencil drawings from photos and I surprised that I actually liked the results. Since a client wanted me to do this to many images, I thought it would be foolish not to create an action for it so I did so but every time I try to run the action, about half way through, I get the following message.....The command "Invert" is not currently available.
1. Check color mode of image
2. Make sure "add mask by default is checked in the adjustment layers settings
3. Make sure "add default masks on fill layer is checked in the layers panel options
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: IMAGECLIP Invert Clip Won't Work
Apr 7, 2013I'm working in C3D 2013. When I try to use the "invert clip" option in the IMAGECLIP command, it keeps clipping everyting outside the boundary rather than inside. I've tried both tiffs and jpegs. I've tried attaching the image through the xref manager. I've tried dragging the image into the file. I've also tried just using the CLIP command. It works on my coworker's computer.

Even if the e.veto has been sent to AutoCAD the ETRANSMIT command still continues.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Extend Command Doesn't Work
Mar 10, 2012I have a 3d drawing file which I manually flattened except the section. The ground plan is at 0 Z axis.
Now I am trying to draw lines on top of it, and I cannot extend my lines. Any solution to this?
Additional question:
I also had some difficulties when I was trying to flatten the 3d model. "Flatten" command did not work. I understand Flatshot did not work because these are not solids. But why Flatten did not work? That was why I had to manually change start and end of z position.

Apr 27, 2010the user is running C3D. He can only open a drawing if its in the previously open files list or he can open with Explorer. If he clicks the open toolbar or selects open from the menu or even types it at the command prompt, nothing happens. It seems to be trying to do something because the command prompt doesn't come back unless he escapes. If he instead hits enter, he gets a message that says it can't find the file specified - even though he never got a chance to specify anything. It's not FILEDIA and he has rebooted. It's also not hiding the open dialog box behind the acad screen.

Jul 12, 2012I finally figured out why LR sometimes ignores the paste command and if not a bug, it is at least a problem that can adversely affect the unsuspecting user. Pasting a WB does not always work if both the source/target are both "As Shot", and yet the Temp/Tint are still different. It seems priority should be given to the actual numbers instead of the As shot status, which (in my case) could vary between cameras. The logic is a bit strange.
I can see how whether or not this is a bug is debatable, but it seems more useful to have it work the other way. There should at least be a message when the paste command results in no expected action (I expect the actual WB numbers to take priority over "as shot").
AutoCAD 2010 :: Dimreassociate / Command Doesn't Work With Multileaders
Mar 26, 2013I have some mulitleaders in paperspace that lost their associativity with objects in model space. _dimreassociate will work with to reattach a leader arrowhead to a model object but the command doesn't work with multileaders. Is there another way to do this or do I have to redraw the multileaders?

I type in ERASE, then WP and from there I select my polygon shape and the items I want deleted. I don't join the last endpoint of the window with the first point I just hit ENTER twice but nothing happens.

I type in the command ( I'm an old school typer, hate the buttons ) BLOCK....then the next thing that happens is (after hitting enter of course), my crosshairs instantly turn into the Windows arrow.
I wasn't playing with any switches. I was just trying to make a little block with a number in it.
Yes, I restarted AutoCAD, restarted the computer, did not reload in AutoCAD.....AutoCAD 2011 by the way.
I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
I have to do a WBLOCK to make the blocks I need to bypass this odd behavior.

Feb 22, 2009Photo of boat in ocean. I want JUST the ocean as a layer-in the layers palette I would see the original image with a 'hole' in it-the boat would be missing. But when I use a lasso tool and copy to a new layer,
I a get new layer with the exact opposite- the original image with just the boat-the ocean is missing. Is there a simple way to invert this so I get the ocean as a layer? If not, how is the lasso tool used to get the background and not the subject of the photo?

Nov 16, 2002We all know the invert function of Photoshop, easy and nice (well nor always but will fix this) to invert all colors.... The downside is than this trick will also invert luminosity... Light area become dark and dark area become light, this can ruin an image!
If you wish to invert an image and keep lighting intact the trick is really simple!
1) Open an image to be inverted
2) Duplicate you background layer (or the image layer), this layer will be used as a luminosity mask.
3) Select your original layer
4) Invert you original layer
5 (Optional) Link and Merge these layers
Done!
Trick : If you invert the luminosity(the copy of the original) rather the than original layer, you will inver the lighting of the image... Its also pretty cool!

Apr 13, 2012If I select a Path or Work Path from the Paths Panel,then select a Layer from the Layers Panel,then Command-click the Make New Mask button (at the bottom of the Layers Panel),I get a new Vector Mask applied to my Layer....But it's inverted. The shape of the Vector Mask is hiding that portion of the layer. In other words it's like my mask is a cookie cutter and just made a hole in my layer.

Jan 16, 2013I am using Master Suite cs5. I have an image that was like 90% black and 95%white. I need to reverse the color which invert can do but there are adjustments to be made before invert.
I am able to invert the colors after a contrast adjustment. ( i also tried posterize in 2 steps. However, when i do invert the letters get fatter and starts looking like it was written with a sharpie.
I know that there are pixels at the point where B&W meet and that the adjustment i am making spread them like a gradient over 3-5 pixels.
So, I was wondering what there a way to either de-thicken the text after invert? OR Is there away to make pre-invert adjustments so that it does not happen?
The invert on this image is purposely not pure B&W. Pure B&W is worse.
