AutoCAD Map 3D :: Map Image Insert NAIP Raster Photo Not Projecting And 4 Bands
Jul 20, 2012I have limited experience with AutoCAD, I am an ESRI GIS user. So here goes:
We are trying to use map image insert to insert a NAIP photo. The NAIP photo is in UTM meters. The existing AutoCAD Civil dwg is in state plane illinois wf. Everything I have read says all you have to do is go to map image insert, pick the tiff, my correlation source is a world file (.tfw), and BAM, your raster image should show up where it is supposed to. Well, it doesn't work. It appears that AutoCAD is not reprojecting the image to state plane feet. How can I get it to do this?
If we connect to the image, it reprojects it just fine. However, on every pan and zoom it is redrawing. We can't wait for the program to redraw all the time, it's too slow. So if we can figure out how to import it, it's a much faster option.
Another problem: the NAIP has 4 bands and the 4th band is an Alpha Band 1. This makes the image appear faded and white. In ArcMap you can simply uncheck the 4th band so the image looks normal again. Is there a way to do that in AutoCAD Map?

Sep 20, 2006I am using photoshop cs 2 on a windows xp.
i have a logo which is in resolution 300
i have to apply the logo to vaious files which are resolution 150 or 120 or even 300
I have an action created for doing that
My problem is that the logo resizes itself on a 120 res image and a 150 res image. as in it enlarges.
Its normal for that to happen i know due to differences in the resolution.
How can i constrain the logo from resizing onto different resolution images.
As in i cant lock my logo layer cause my action consists of creating guides, aligning the logo horizontal left and vertical below and merging the layers and finally saving the files.
What can i do to constrain the logo size from changing on different resolution images.
my logo size is 5.5" x 2.5"
my images sizes are 45" x 225"
Photoshop :: Gradient Bands In CS3
Jul 8, 2009I just created a very detailed technical illustration in CS3 and put in a gradient background going from a warm grey to a cool grey to make the image pop better. Upon taking the file file to my print guy, who will be printing this on an Epsom 9800, he said that bands are showing up on his nice Samsung 30" monitor within the gradient field that he warned will probably show up on the final print. An easy solution would be to simply eliminate the gradient but the illustration looks a lot more classy with it on. Plus, the 100 clients who have seen a simple small jpg preview file of what they are buying is the image with the gradient and they love it. The print guy is going to run a sample proof tomorrow to see if the bands show up so I am just doing some research to see if I need to do something now in case the resultant proof doesn't turn out well.

Nov 14, 2013I have a 3ds model of a golf ball I purchased. It imports properly into my Photoshop CC. I haven't been able to figure out how to apply an image (my logo) to the surface of the golf ball. Also, the golf ball has a dimpled surface so I will want the image to follow the contours of the ball, as if it would look if the logo were painted onto a real golf ball.

EDIT: Also, I want to keep the golf ball as a 3d object so I can animate it in a scene.

Oct 30, 2013making an image that has only text and a transparent background. I want to use this as a banner/logo for my website and would like the "text" to sit on top of my site background.
I have tried several things that I know of in PS CC, but when I upload it to my website I get the text siting on a white background, thus my site background does not show through.

What I have figured so far is to use the Edit / Transform / Perspective to squish the bottom and widen the top to give the perspective. And then I go to Edit / Transform / Scale and squish it vertically.

Aug 22, 2007I read a little about using the displace filter to do what I want but could not get it done properly.
I have a nice "golf ball" image. and I want to put a logo on it and have the logo image flow right down into the dimples like it would be on a real golf ball.

I would like to show a horizontal band (rectangle) from each layer. For example, I want Layer 1 to be visible from 0 in to 1 in., Layer 2 to be visible from 1 in. to 2 in., etc. Does anyone know easiest & least tedious way to do this?

Had an idea for a logo, take this Soviet badge: Keep the gold around the bottom and sides, have 'The Red Faction' along the bottom, retain the Red star and replace the hammer & sickle with a gold Liverbird. I would need this as a PNG graphical/logo image not simply using the current JPEG and editing it if that makes sense?

Nov 22, 2013Using digital photography to capture the image of a large poster printed with dot structure. Portions of the image have bands caused by the pattern of dots. Resizing and rotating doesn't reduce or eliminate.Â
What is the best way to remove these bands in Photoshop? Note: clone tool not satisfactory (causes fuzziness, blurring). Tried selecting the affected area(s) and using Gaussian Blur but bands are too wide. Same for Dust and Scratches.Â

Currently i have moved a copy of the image into the folder containing the drawings i am working on, still have problems has it wont even copy to another drawing.

You've properly encountered this problem lots of times and i'm properly being really silly, but I am having major problems re-sizing and it, causing pixelisation on my Image, esp when going to 'Save for web and Devices'.

I did have 'drop down shadow effects' on the Logo but I believe I have deleted all of that in Appearences, Incase it is the raster effects causing the problems... but even back at its seemingly basics, I'm still having the same problems.

I tried making the Image smaller using the 'scale' & 'transform' tool before taking it into 'Save for Web and Devices' and even on my artboard it now looks pixelated..

My Artboard size is 1200 x 1200 and in 'Save for Web and Devices' it says the Original Image size is 800 x 600 (which I believe is the size of the document I chose when starting my project)...

I tried Playing with the PPI in the 'Document Raster Effects' settings, this doesn't seem to be making a difference.. Infact I'm sure playing with all the settings has almost caused my edges already to not be as sharp in view: 100% (RGB/Overprint preview) as they once were and I don't think I have the original document to go back too, due to thinking the Logo was fine, before relizing I had a problem in resizing & saving.

I have tried all of the save options in 'Save for Web and Devices' but still the Image looks pixelized, even when ignoring previewer and going ahead to re-opening the saved Image.
I've spent hours trawling the web tirelessly without any result and after being so happy with the Logo, it would be such a shame to have to delete it and try and start all over again either in Illustrator or back in Photoshop (where I know the quality won't be as good)..

Maybe I'm expecting too much - since the vector image is essentially perfect - but it seems like there should be a way to come up with a decent looking image.
