Photoshop :: How To Remove Bands Caused By Dot Structure Of Printed Original
Nov 22, 2013
Using digital photography to capture the image of a large poster printed with dot structure. Portions of the image have bands caused by the pattern of dots. Resizing and rotating doesn't reduce or eliminate.Â
What is the best way to remove these bands in Photoshop? Note: clone tool not satisfactory (causes fuzziness, blurring). Tried selecting the affected area(s) and using Gaussian Blur but bands are too wide. Same for Dust and Scratches.Â
I have several lovely images with a partial green horizontal colour cast caused by very out of focus bars, (without cloning!)as shown here, across tigers head!
Old PC Windows XP with PSE8. New PC Windows 8 with PSE11.I did a backup and restore operation. After the restore, there was a large list of files that could not be restored. I also noticed that there were a large number of thumbnails with a question mark attached.  I did a reconnect using FindAll missing files. Instead of placing the recovered files in their original path and folder location, they ended up in an entirely different path in the Folders View. I tried to drag the folders back to their original location, but got the message: folder with that name already exists at the requested location, even though it wasn't visible. In addition some of the folders involved were no longer visible in either path structure.  I checked in the My Folders View, and it showed that the folders involved in the reconnect were still intact. I opened one or two and found they contained the original missing images. How can I get the folders and their images back to their correct places in the original path structure?
The colors on the computer monitor do not match the colors of my printed photos. The pictures have a yellow color cast. I am printing using HP Photosmart 7520.
Is there any way to make Photoshop delete (or move to Recycle Bin, doesn't matter) a file in an Action? Â Basically at the moment I manually open a picture, then I activate my Action which does a bunch of automated things, saves a .png copy, closes the file. I would like my Action to also remove the original file.
(I cannot use batch processing because the picture names do not follow a logical pattern, therefore I still wish to open the files myself.)
How can one remove a raised texture pattern from a scan of the original photo? Â Have several wedding photos scanned into PS Elements that were printed by the pro, photography studio on a raised pattern paper. How to remove the honey comb type pattern so that the picture canbe printed flat on glossy color photo paper?
I'm new in Paint.net. I have used a little bit photoshop. I need to create photos like this URL....So I need to create new background and edit people also so they match with the background. I think i need to remove the original background first, but what do i have to do after that?
Let's say I have a picture with an ugly translucent overlay, like this:
If I have a copy of the overlay that isn't transparent (or is transparent, but doesn't have anything behind it), is there a way I could use that to remove it from the original image? One application of this would be removing UIs from video game screenshots.
I increased my document from 8.5"x11" to 22"x34" and a black line of the original document remains. It is not selectable - the word "x page" appears when my cursor hovers on it. I'm working in C6.
When I first got Lightroom I stupidly imported ALL my photos at once from my hard drive-all 7100 of them. Now I would like to send them back to the original places on my hard drive so I can import them in small batches and work on them. How can I do this without losing any images? Can I delete all of them (not to the recycle bin) and then reimport them?
We use C3D 2012 (metric only) - We are attempting to customize our list of structures for Sanitary Sewers. The structure list shows sizes we do not use and we would like to modify them. However, when we try to select the "Inner Diameter" it displays a list of sizes that we can not seem to modify or add to.
I have looked at some of the XML files to try and modify or add new sizes (example: AeccStructConcentricCylinder_Metric.xml) , but they do not seem to be recognized even after I restart the program.
One good thing about null structures is the way they display in 3D. They cover that gap in the pipe segments. Can I steal that shape? I am currently using a simple cylinder for water pipe "joints" and turning it off like most people do I think.
I have drawn a pipe network with multiple concentric sturctures. I need to make them all eccentric now. Is there an easy quick way to do this, or do I have to redraw all of them. When I go to the properties, I cannot find an option that allows me to change this.
I have been working on a layered PSD file putting together a website visual for a few weeks. Yesterday I went to save a copy of the document and in that process the file went a bit weird and some text changed colour and 5 layers had a portion of them deleted (all photos in the header area, like in the attached image). It's happened twice since yesterday, but can't seem to recreate it.
Last night, I downloaded an update for Photoshop CS6, Windows 8, 64 bit. The update failed, and I can't get PS to run at all.How can I restore my program?
I bought Photoshop CS2 some time ago. I got a new mac (OS X 10.8.2) and when I'm trying to install it I introduce the cd, accept and after it copies the files, appears "The installation failed" The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
my Photoshop elements 5.0 program is corrupted and caused my computer to shut down. now when I go to my photoshop elements program 5.0, it freezes up and does not allow me to use it. I would like to un-install this program and re-install it but want to be sure I don't lose my picture files. Will I lose my pic files if I do this?
I try to run Photoshop.exe, but it doesn't respond. I get this error message. How to fix it? I have no idea where is a problem? I had no problems with it earlier.

I have many slides, scanned over the past 10 years, with duplicate file names and filed by date. I converted my Elements 9 from PC to iMac and many incorrect connections occured. Is there a way I can correct these connection errors? This problem involves about 5% of my 25,000 photo files.Â
I just created a very detailed technical illustration in CS3 and put in a gradient background going from a warm grey to a cool grey to make the image pop better. Upon taking the file file to my print guy, who will be printing this on an Epsom 9800, he said that bands are showing up on his nice Samsung 30" monitor within the gradient field that he warned will probably show up on the final print. An easy solution would be to simply eliminate the gradient but the illustration looks a lot more classy with it on. Plus, the 100 clients who have seen a simple small jpg preview file of what they are buying is the image with the gradient and they love it. The print guy is going to run a sample proof tomorrow to see if the bands show up so I am just doing some research to see if I need to do something now in case the resultant proof doesn't turn out well.
When you select the option to apply any changes & overwrite your original photo does the program attempt to try to a default setting to keep the picture approximately the same size as it was before? (assuming that you haven't cropped it) If it doesn't default to a size automatically can is there an option to do so?
I have 10 equally sized layers in my document, each with a different image.
I would like to show a horizontal band (rectangle) from each layer. For example, I want Layer 1 to be visible from 0 in to 1 in., Layer 2 to be visible from 1 in. to 2 in., etc. Does anyone know easiest & least tedious way to do this?
Is there a way to correct the slight inverted pyramid effect caused by a 17-40 when taking interior room shots in Lightroom or do I have to go to PhotoShop to do this? I have found the lens profile correction but are there other tools in LR to use? What I am seeing is a slight outward shift from floor to ceiling on side walls and need to straighten these walls.
I was wondering if there is some equivalent in Smoke to Final Cut's flicker filter, which I use frequently to eliminate flicker and 'buzzing' caused by fine lines, especially evident when HD is down converted to PAL for broadcast?
Cannot read data on socket: Software caused connection to abort
I imported an AAF linking to R3D and Sony footage. When I tried scrubbing the timeline, I got that message. Smoke is REALLY slow now. And when I try to look at footage in my gateway, I get READ ERROR.
Also, the proxies don't start rendering in the backburner...

I'm having difficulty adding bands to a profile view in Civil 3D 2013 in that the bands appear to be come corrupt in not showing the data (the check box to show is unselected, even if I set it to show) and when I go into the UI and turn the bands to show the bands don't show the information correctly.Â
