View 4 Replies View Relatedwhy in CS6 some vector files have this odd outline around shapes. It's visible when editing the file, exporting the file & placing it within Photoshop as a smart object.

Like if i have a circle that i can fil in adobe and then open it in CD, it breaks it apart so i have to join curvs and what not. This is a huge problem when i import templates and such..
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe logo on a website needs to be scaled for printing purposes and it was originally created with photoshop without the original .psd layered file. What i have is the .png file which I am looking to convert to vector. I've read from this forum that I can convert to smart object but that is if I had the layered shapes. What is the easiest way to go about doing this?
The logo that I'm referencing is located on the top left hand corner of [URL]
I have a logo with text that I am starting to need as Vector image to get things printed etc. At this stage I only have this as photoshop document and jpeg.
How ot get started in Illustrator to either convert or to recreate the logo etc so I can then do whats needed.
I am working on a corporate logo consisting of two different shapes, and I want to combine them into one. The end result has to be a vector image.
One of the shapes is slightly bigger than the other one, and I want to remove the parts that are at the outside of the other shape. It's a little tricky to explain, but what I want to do, is equal to the "Paste into"-option in Photoshop where an inserted object is placed within the borders of another.
Is this possible in Illustrator?
I'm not that familiar with paths, so I don't know what to do...

View 2 Replies View RelatedAI newbie here. How do you send the client a vector logo? When I save my logo as EPS, it is still in a thousand pieces. Is it possible to "Flatten" logo like in Photoshop before sending as vector?
My logo has some transparency which I'd like to keep.
How do you send a scalable vector logo that has transparency in a way that a client can easily open and view the file?
I'm playing with the 3D tools in Photoshop CS5 Extended for a friend. He provided an .obj file of a tool part and it opens just fine as a complex, shaded object.
Question: Is there a way to generate simple outlines of the object and export those outlines as paths to Illustrator?
A logo file was sent over to me with a white background. I am very new to Illustrator so I do not know how to change this. I checked the layers and it only shows 1 layer and an image file. I tried saving for the web, but there is no transparency area there either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm working in Illustrator CS5 and I've designed a logo for a client and want to send a version that is in color, a version that's black, and a version that's white. The color and black are fine since they already stand out on the default white/transparent background. But i want to put the white design on a background that will make it visible. Is there a way to set up the document so that the background is a color so that you can see the white design, but when it's place into another document it's just the design and dosen't include the backgound?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a logo whose letters have an image in them - which I've got figured out (turning letters to outlines, creating clipping mask with image). The trouble is, once the image is inside the letters, I can't figure out how to then give the letters a thin stroke outline. Is this possible? The image I've placed is high contrast black and white, so when I create the clipping mask, large chunks of the letters disappear.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a small problem: I have several images which I need to import / combine with an hole pattern. Then I just need the outlines of the holes (each color) for laser cutting. Doing by hand and coloring each dot is difficult, how to make this in some few steps ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHere is what my artboard looks like. What I'm trying to do is just get the black shapes as one solid logo without the white showing. For example, if I were to place this in another Illustrator project, it would still have the white rectangles with full transperency. I tried a tut online, but when I place the AI file into another project, the WHOLE image is invisible.
If I were to open this AI file in Photoshop, I could use the Magic Wand to delete the white parts and leave just the black shape. I want to be able to resize the black shape and use it on banners, avatars, etc.
Background notes: I am using this for my gaming website and I would like to be able to use this for my logo. (Crossfire)
I have an illustration I did and when exporting as a PDF I get these white stitch marks inbetween the layering. My steps previous to that were Object > Live paint, where I finalized colouring of my illustration. I'm guessing live paint probably made the layers space out a bit, but I wouldn't see why. The layers are fine when in Illustrator, it's only when I export it into PDF. I would have put a image up but the forum doesn't allow me to post PDFs for some reason.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a logo that I made into a vector image. It is simply black text with a transparent background. I am trying to create a duplicate of the image- but with the letters inverted to white (still with a transparent background). I am pretty new to illustrator and am not sure how to get this effect. I have tried using the "ignore white" button in image trace as I did with the black text image, but all it does is erase my text too. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have also tried to go to "object/edit color/invert" but all it does is say there are no recognizable colors to invert....
I own a calcomp 1218, and mainly want to use to trace outlines from logos (vector).
In the past I use to work in a company that make vinyl artand one of the features that the software has was to change from line points to tangent/ circle poins from a single click in the puck (I just dont remember the software name), at that time the learning curve was perfect..
I created logo with a gradient object. The gradient is with a single color and transparency.
I can not export the logo, ( Ai, eps or pdf) in InDesign and keep the transparency of the gradient. Transparency becomes white. For the pdf, not only I do not have the transparency of the gradient, but I also have a block of white around my logo.
way to create an outline contour cut for decals? Iv'e been doing this for years and it's been a headache. I have the graphic/text, duplicate it with a thick outline. Say .25". Then Convert Outline To Object. The problem I have is that if it's a complexe graphic or line of text, a number (sometimes a large number) of the nodes are broken and I have to join them. And CD sometimes adds way too many nodes. So I have to spend a long time deleting unnessesary nodes to clean it up.
Iv'e had people suggest to use the Arrange, Shaping, Boundery function. But that doesn't allow me to make the boundery any further away from the art.
If I bring a raster image into Illustrator (CS5.5) and apply an Effect (Angled brush stroke) will the resulting image be a vector or raster?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a logo and then opened it as a layer so that I can make a website header image. It is shown here [URL] and as you can see the background is an off-white colour. It is probably unnoticeable to many, but I would prefer to get it right. How can I make the background a pure white so that it blends in with the white of the wordpress theme?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a hardcore Photoshop nut lol but I have recently approached learning how to use 'AI' to create my company Logo so that It can be Vector based and therefore Re-size it according to web and print as needed.
You've properly encountered this problem lots of times and i'm properly being really silly, but I am having major problems re-sizing and it, causing pixelisation on my Image, esp when going to 'Save for web and Devices'.
I did have 'drop down shadow effects' on the Logo but I believe I have deleted all of that in Appearences, Incase it is the raster effects causing the problems... but even back at its seemingly basics, I'm still having the same problems.
I tried making the Image smaller using the 'scale' & 'transform' tool before taking it into 'Save for Web and Devices' and even on my artboard it now looks pixelated..
My Artboard size is 1200 x 1200 and in 'Save for Web and Devices' it says the Original Image size is 800 x 600 (which I believe is the size of the document I chose when starting my project)...
I tried Playing with the PPI in the 'Document Raster Effects' settings, this doesn't seem to be making a difference.. Infact I'm sure playing with all the settings has almost caused my edges already to not be as sharp in view: 100% (RGB/Overprint preview) as they once were and I don't think I have the original document to go back too, due to thinking the Logo was fine, before relizing I had a problem in resizing & saving.
I have tried all of the save options in 'Save for Web and Devices' but still the Image looks pixelized, even when ignoring previewer and going ahead to re-opening the saved Image.
I've spent hours trawling the web tirelessly without any result and after being so happy with the Logo, it would be such a shame to have to delete it and try and start all over again either in Illustrator or back in Photoshop (where I know the quality won't be as good)..
I've created a logo, and I'd like to use it in some PDF documents. I've tried several different methods for converting it into an image, but the image quality really degrades when I do. Maybe I'm expecting too much - since the vector image is essentially perfect - but it seems like there should be a way to come up with a decent looking image. Is there a "best practice" for this process?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a vector that i want to apply an image to. So i dropped the image into illustrator, and made a clipping mask, but if i go to save it, or print it, it tries to print space where the image is, even though it's only inside the vector outline. Kind of confusing with the wording, see pics, but I just want the vector to cut out of the image, and get rid of the rest of the image.

View 3 Replies View Relatednew to illustrator and im trying to convert a digitally generated pdf. into a vector format/file without the pixel data. I have drawn up a logo/font (in autocad as thats what i know) and made a pdf from it to send to a printing company that only deals in vector format. i can import the image and get a trace of it but the frames add radii to corners and im having trouble isolating the vector/trace result to make a seperate file from (to send off)
so, its there an easier way to get a vector file from my pdf image
I'm trying to convert this .jpg image into vector for a large print for decoration. The image has poor quality and when I try to use Image Trace the results are not satisfactory. Do you have any tips on what I should do and which tool to use instead? The thing is that I'm trying to skip the effort of drawing the whole image since that would take tons of time.
