Jan 20, 2013Has the method for positioning image based lights changed in the most recent version of Photoshop? The positioning sphere seems to have gone missing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I'm working in 3D again in CS6 and find myself wishing to "scale down" my image based lighting to give greater detail to my reflections. It seems like all I get with IBL is very large and blurry reflections. sharpen up and focus my IBL?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo here's the problem. I managed to delete a photo from my digital camera. Now I need it back. I recovered the file, but strangely, it's not actually recovered.
Now, I know file recovery is hit and miss, and since this was a photo from the camera itself (not a memory card), things get more complicated. Anyway, I manged to get back the photo...sort of.
The file I now have is 160x120, instead of the 3040x2288 it should be. Now, if this was an actual thumbnail, I would expect the file size to be pretty small. Instead, this little 160x120 image is 2.16MB. This leads me to belive that somehow I can get the real photo (or at least something better than the little image) back from the file. There has to be a reason for that much extra data, right?
Does anybody know how to do this? I figured Photoshop might have some advanced sort of raw file reading or some sort of rebuilding/recovery. Alternatively, someone could point me to a good recovery program (or even some other way to do this).
If it helps, the camera that the file came from is an HP Photosmart M627.
i'm having trouble creating image based slices and rollovers... where the frick is everything? i can make slices just fine but then how do i manipulate the rollover states (over, click, selected, out)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny method or script that enables generation of an image based of all the colors currently in the swatch? I would want it to fill a grid, with a patch of the color with the colors name underneath it, and with the name of the swatch as a header on a black background. Maybe even with the lab, cmyk and rgb values underneath each color. The colors need to be arranged in the same manner as in the swatch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been asked to produce a large text based image to be printed on a gym floor with a size of approx. 2m squared. I am using a Collegiate style font and then rasterising the text to allow different coloured parts and blending the letters in to each other. I have produced the image in small scale, but now need to redo the image suitable for printing at such a large size. I know I will have to start again from scratch but am concerned that it may be pixelated at such a large size.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use a tool (select, crop, highlight, resizing an image) in CS6, the image flickers. Not my entire screen, but just the background of CS6 and the image. It flickers like a strobe light and makes it very distracting to try and crop, select, do anything in CS6. It's clearly a CS6 problem and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times but it continues to flicker.

I'm trying to create a "blue glow/light rays" around an image of the planet Earth and I can't just seem to make it look realistic like this image here:
How to do this technique? You can find a planet earth image by searching for NASA BLUE MARBLE and it's free.
Can I add more Image based lighting images besides the one come installed such as (old warehouse, dry salt bed)?
If yes how could i do it
when I am trying to use the lighting style scenes (such as old warehouse) I get this message "Cannot find the source Oldwarehouse of the image based lighting" and the background image does not appear I only get the same old gradient backgroud. (see attached file)
I know the IBL files exist and know where they are but I have moved the folders from the default location on my C: drive due to space reasons and changed the respective filepaths in the application options. However it seems inventor has not understood that the path to these IBL background files has changed... is there some filepath setting somewhere that I have missed?
I am using inventor 2013.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to animate a casino-like light board made of tens of light bulbs/leds. I thought the easiest way to do it would be creating a matrix of bulbs arranged by material ID and then design a pattern in multi sub-object materiel so I could somehow scrub through it and achieve animation effect. The material modifier allows to change ID for the whole object only and MaterialByElement shuffle ID`s in a random manner.

I am attempting to build a facsimilie enigma machine, I would like to know how best to create an effect so that when a key is pressed a corresponding letter appears to light up. Btw I am not looking for an animated image, I can take care of the transitions between on and off, I just need to create the two image states.

How do you lock the pivot point of a light to the light itself? I thought just adding a Axis node would move the light and pivot point but the pivot does not move. Is there a way of parenting them together?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a new smart object via copy, and then I try and position it 25 pixels below the original (i visually place the new object so the borders touch). Using the transform controls, I click the triangle, but instead of the Y position being 0, it's an arbitrary number that corresponds with the objects height. This eliminates the use of the relative positioning function, because then I'm forced to go back and do math, which I could just do with absolute positioning.
How on earth do I set the relative position of a new smart object via copy to 0, so I can simply type "25" instead of having to add? May seem easy to add, but again, each shape is getting adjusted slightly, and as such, I have to add every time, which means I have to figure out the height of the object every time, which essentially makes this option totally useless.
Being a newbie to Photoshop I have spent three days trying to track down an answer to my problem with no luck. I am attempting to create a some "embossed" text for web page buttons and each time I attempt to add a text layer to my background layer, the text seems to "glue" itself to the top edge of the text box no matter how I position it. This is not a problem with plain text, but when I add the embossing effect, several rows of pixels for the embossing go "above" the text box boundary. These pixels then disappear when I change to a different layer or try to save the image. When I am actively working in the text layer everything looks fine, but as soon as I switch out of text mode the top of the text gets chopped off. Am I missing something?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a light-colored image that I want to make a transparent background of without having any of the jagged white edges and whatnot, to make a signature and avatar and so on. I've tried the magic wand, Alpha Mask, and Alpha Space, none of which have succeeded. As I said, the image itself is very light (the attached image), so it's difficult to achieve what I'm trying to do.

Is it possible to switch the import quick buttons around somewhere? for example: to have the enter button place the file I'm importing to the original position?
