Photoshop :: I Don't Have A Visual So I Will Try To Describe It
Aug 23, 2007
I have 2 facing pages that have to feature decently large casual shots of people. They are split up and they have the name of the person written below their picture. ON a single page, there are 3 per row and 4 rows. So these pictures are decently spread out.
My problem is with the background. I want a black background because it brings the color out more. But, I want to spice a plain black background up a bit. So I want to do something like a wispy smoke effect or some sort of subtle variance. Because I do not have a definite picture of what it is that I want. I am really looking for ideas on what subtle thing I can do to the background.
for a while now, my photoshop tools wouldnt work. it was only the tools that involved "painting" like the brush tool and quick select. after reinstalling, they would work but suddenly they'd stop again. eventually i figured out that it was the pen for my wacom tablet. every time i used the pen, it would make the mouse not work untill i reinstalled the program. this means that a setting changes (pen pressure or something) when i use the pen and it doesnt change back when i use the mouse. i cant deturmine which setting changes.
Ive got Photoshop CS, and none of the hotkeys are working, according to the hotkey settings they're all there and should work.. but none of them do.. not even simple things that should work like cut and paste..
I send my designs to a commercial printing company. Usual case is, is that the pictures turn out too dark or too lite, and sometimes it is due to the fact that the CMYK colors are overaly saturated causing all these colors layer to overprint and make it come out too dark. On my screen I dont see those oversaturated colors, I see a picture that looks good on screen. When Im using flat color somewhere, I have a swatch book that I use to assign number to each color and so the results are always great. But you cant do that with pictures, with pictures you have no idea. I use a color picker and set it to 5 point average to measure color, but it really doesnt tell me much. How can I measure a whole picture and be able to tell if the output looks oversaturated or undersaturated or too lite or too dark?
i dl the trial i open it up and i open an image a PSD and nothing shows but a black screen the only time i see the picture is when i hold on the mouse but the soonest i let it go it goes back to black.
After the latest patch installation, Photoshop CS5 ext. (12.1 x64 on windows7 64bit) don't save the files on the PDF format. The message: "the file is already open on other application"
My prints dont match what i am seeing on the screen when using CS3. I am using windows xp and printing on a epson 7800. I never had this problem before i started using CS3. I have calibrated my monitor.
I have the standard version of CS3 not the extended. I read a arctical that CS3 prints darker then what is on your screen. The solution if you have CS3 extended is to increase lightness just before printing, but what if you dont have the extended version, what do you do?
Im having issues with cs4. When i use a tool (paintbrush, eraser), it randomly applies it somewhere else. For instance when trying to paint precise lines while following and edge the brush will apply itself randomly somewhere else. It always happens when i release the mouse button and then press it to start using again. I could be painting a horizontal line, let off the mouse button, repress it and all of a sudden the brush paints a vertical line 3 inches away!
i just got photoshop CS and at the beggining all the filter options workedbut now they dont anymore when i want to make some wind i cant because the button is like gray(cant press it)......
The colors of pictures is much darker when working in photoshop than when I open it normally. And vice versa, I work on images inside photoshop, and I get the colors I want, but once I save it to bmp or jpg or anything else, all the colors are much lighter.
Is there a way to programatically set a visual style before a drawing actually opens?
We have some huge models and people seem to forget to change their visual styles back to 2D wireframe before saving and exiting drawings. Some models will crash on some workstations when trying to open in a rendered mode.
I found a lisp with a function that looked to set viewport visual styles. But it does not seem to be supported anymore. --> (vla-put-VisualStyle vport 1)
Lisp that switches back on Selection Preview i.e. thickens and highlights lines when you hover over them?I don't know why, but they are always unticking the boxes.
how to retouch the "before" image to look like the "after" image without spending hours to do it. I shot this boat and knew I would want to clean up the sky and background in post-production. Given my moderate Photoshop skill level, it was very time-consuming. I used the usual tools, layers, etc. Perhaps there are ways to do this more quickly using masking of some kind?
After looking at this one guys visual studio 2005 wallpaper I wanted to learn how he did it. I am trying to duplicate the small squares you see on his wallpaper. how he did the shapes in the wallpaper.
Not sure if this is possible, maybe with some maths? So possibly via applescript. Â I have a layer that is this is neck piece that you see, and you can see that the extension change makes the centre, 'off centre' or at least visually? Â How might I achieve this? Â I need to expand the canvas afterwards to create a border where the image is framed correctly as part of an automation.
I'm currently working on a design and come to a point where I want to optimize my work. I have two layers both have its blend mode set to "Overlay".
The top one is at 40% opacity and the second one is at 19% opacity. My question is... How do I merge the two and yet still retain the look that I see on screen?
It perfectly fine if both Layers are identical in terms of blending mode and opacity, but when both are different I have a hard time collapsing the two together so that they look exactly what I saw before collapsing it. I've been living with this for a long time but now I need to know a solution to this.
I'm frequently creating .gif and .jpg images for web ads and these have to be within a strict 40KB size limit which is often tricky for larger formats. Now a new 'fireplace' format has been created that is an ad that is an image frame around the sides and top of a web page, consisting of two vertical pieces each side of the page and a horizontal bar along the top that links both the side pieces into a single seamless image. This means that I have to create three separate image files, each of which has to be less than 40KB and because each of these pieces is also quite large I will have to carefully adjust the images settings in 'Save for Web and Devices' to get the file size within this limit. My main problem, however, is how do I do that whilst ensuring that the visual consistency between the images is such that it isn't noticable where the three separate pieces join? Â For example, if the side pieces have radically different style and colour of content to each other and the top part, saving these as separate .gif files could result in each file having a different indexed colour palette and number of colours etc, making the separate pieces look visually different and the places where they join look really obvious and clumsy. Â What steps do I take to keep within the file size for the images whilst keeping the images looking seamlessly consistent? This isn't as much of a problem in .jpg but there may be times when using .gif is more efficient - is there a way to save an indexed colour palette for .gif and apply it across multiple files? Â The master file is created as a single image in Photoshop CS4 and later split into three files which are saved as .gif or .jpg.
I came into work on Monday morning and started working on this business card design for an associate of mine. I got to the point where a first draft was almost finished, I went to save it as a PDF (keeping all the layers separate and retaining Photoshop editing capabilities), and it suddenly did this (attached photo). It's now Wednesday and not only have I never run into this issue before, but it seems no one else has because I haven't been able to find anything on it this whole time.
It seems to be saving to PSD and JPG just fine, but I need to be able to save to PDF for printing. I've checked a couple times to make sure Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat are fully up to date and they are. I've tried holding CTRL+ALT+SHIFT while starting the program to delete the preferences, and that didn't work. I've run a spyware/malware scan on my computer and it came back clean. Â - I'm running Photoshop CS3, with the new 10.0.1 update - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit /w Service Pack 1 Â Â - Dell XPS 8300, 6GB RAM, Intel Core i5-2300 - My system is completely up to date (according to Windows Update)
When I start up the 64bit version of Photoshop CS6 I get the R6034 error. After about 20 times to delete the error message 64bit CS5 starts. This does not happen with the 32 bit version. How do I fix this?
Photoshop's 3D rendering offers us the ability to create imagery that's virtually perfect. It even allows us to specify the depth of field, from infinite, to reasonably short.  My question to you is this: Does shortening the depth of field increase or reduce the visual impact of a rendering? I offer these examples for you to judge:  I can't quite decide which I like better. The one that's sharp edge-to-edge seems a bit more like eye candy, but the one with the short DOF seems maybe more realistic. On the other hand, blurring things always feels a bit like hiding imperfection, when in this case it's hiding perfection.
Is it possible to change the so outdated text buttons in my "Create" panel with visual icons for easier identifying. Haven't you ever been so frustrated reading trough a pile of text just to click your desired object type instead of the more streamlined way of just clicking an icon? The brain perceives and makes out visual data faster than reading text. I can't believe that it has not been implemented yet. It's the 21st century for crying out loud!
Here's my idea: [URL] ...
How to do this and replace them with icons? May be a script or something?
The only answer I've found is to use linework, but that can't be the way to go in a program such as revit. That's the whole point of it, right? To not have to sit and do things manually and then have to change the lines every time something in the building changes. I know that Archicad can show line thickness depending on distance from elevation line. And god do i dislike Archicad, but that's exactly what I'm looking for.
Another answer I've found is to use shadows, but then you get the problem of only being able to print as raster = no sharp lines.
I have finished the 3d interior completed with lighting and everything. Set Visual Style to Realistic. Is it normal that the drawing would turns to only wireframe during the action of 3d Orbit and 3dwalk? Is there a way to change the setting?
I have a drawing prepared in Civil 3D 2013 with a number of surfaces representing both the existing and proposed grade of a site. I have the cut and fill quantities but now I am required to illustrate on my drawing where the areas of cut and areas of fill are by showing boundary lines or shaded areas, etc. Is there a way Civil 3D can easily generate these areas in order to visually show the locations of cut and of fill?
I use the hidden visual style when I plot my MEP drawings and I keep having this issues (sometimes it's worse than others) of piping that is on a layer that is off/frozen still blocking a visible line.
It looks like there are wipeout's going over my pipes when in fact it is a pipe not shown.
Is it possible to execute a certain command based on multiple selections withinin a dcl? for example: two radio colums, one with selections A and B, and a second with selections 1 and 2. is it possible to program commands based on user selections from each column? ex: if A and 1- do a command. A 2- do a different command, etc...
I tried :
 (action_tile "key1" "(setq A t")  (action_tile "key2" "(setq B t")
 (action_tile "key3" "(setq 1 t)(done_dialog)")  (action_tile "key4" "(setq 2 t)(done_dialog)")
(if (and (a) (1) ) (command ...
but was unsuccessful. no matter which combination was selected, the command under all combinations would run.
I am trying to find a lisp that would get an attribute value (tag name = NBR_5) . I'm trying to run a simple routine that would let the user place the value from the titleblock attribute as text on a drawing. I see a ton of articles regarding getting attributes but I am not well versed in programming.
