Photoshop :: How Do You Save A Layer(s) As A Jpeg Without Saving The Whole Canvas?
Jun 21, 2006i want to export the little button in the top left hand corner that sais "Westcoast" (which consists of 2 layers) as a jpeg without exporting the whole photoshop file. The only way i know how to do this is hide all the other layers and size the canvas around that little button. And even then the canvas is rectangular while the button has curved edges...so some of the canvas would still be showing.

Jun 4, 2013I am trying to find a faster way to save my images. I shoot in raw, save raw images as jpegs after editing them in Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 on a Mac version 10.7.5. When I save, I either have to save as a copy of the exisiting image, or replace the image I'm working on. Other forums I've read said to make an action to save and create a function key to make this process faster, but my function keys aren't working, and playing the action I've created still makes a copy of the image.

Feb 4, 2013I exported an image from LightRoom to Photoshop to edit it. After saving it in Photoshop and closing, I went back to LightRoom and couldn't find it anywhere. Usually it's in the same folder as the original. I also can't find it anywhere on my hard drive or in recent files in Photoshop. I know it saved it because it was a huge file and I had to wait for it to save before photoshop would close.

Nov 14, 2013I already know how to remove backgrounds from images, and create a transparent background. However, I need to be able to use the resulting image in another program called Scratch. And as far as I know, it does not accept .tiff, .pgn, .psd or gifs.
How do I completely remove that background so that it doesn't show up white in other programs when I save it as a .jpeg?

Apr 30, 2012My image in photoshop has thin lines, but when I save it, the jpeg shows the image with very thick dark lines, looking not like the image in photoshop. Why does it do this? How can I stop PS from doing this to my image? I want the image to look as it does in Photoshop when I save it as a Jpeg.

As it should be (using the snipping tool (I can't use the snipping tool as my only option, because it will only capture the size as it is on the screen, not the actual dimensions in Photoshop)
Saved as a Jpeg; the lines are thicker, and now there is little variation in line weight.

May 28, 2013I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)

May 20, 2013Using Elements 9 I was adding black text to a .jpg image. Somehow during the process, the text being entered defaulted to a "wavy, illegible set of characters". Spent 30+ minutes looking at FAQs and have given up. I want to reset to default simple clear black characters. Closing and restarting Elements does not resolve this issue. When ending a newly entered set of text - still get "wavy, illegible set of characters!"

Aug 21, 2013I know the title sounds weird, but I am having trouble keeping my levels from reverting back to their default look when saving as a jpeg or attempting to flatten or merge my layers. I can attach a link to the PDS if you would like to take a look at it. The layer that is losing its levels settings is called "Stars". I don't change my levels often, so I am sure its something I am just missing. The levels are just changes on a single layer, as stated above its the layer called "Stars".

Sep 9, 2013I have a jpeg with a white background and solid colored clipart image. I need to remove the colored part of the jpeg image with magic wand in illustrator cs6 and make it a vector image. The magic wand doesn't seem to do anything in illustrator. I did it in Photoshop and saved it as a PNG with trnsprnt background opened it up in illustrator and it was all jagged. It is such a simple image, only two colors, blue on white.

I opened one of the existing buttons in PS, it has a slight gradient background and the text is typed right on the background so I can't find a way to edit it (it's not on a separate layer), and so if I just erase the text it messes up the background.
