Mar 20, 2013I will try that with the lasso tool. But, my main concern is how to get the color back when using the brush tool, picking from the color box. All, I get now is the grey-rose color, for my brush, no matter which color I chose from the box. When I go to apply the color I have chosen, only the grey-rose color appears no matter what. How do I get back to picking the color and then it (the color chosen) appears on my image?

Instead of the normal circle to indicate the area that will be affected by the brush, it turns into a large curved X, or a large half moon. Mar 1, 2013I must have fat fingered something and I now when I click on the Eraser Tool or the Brush Mask Tool instead of getting a circle or square, I get and icon of the tool instead. They still work but they're harder to use without seeing the circle or square depending on what's selected. I've been using Corel for many years and never had this happen and I can't figure out how to switch back.

Dec 19, 2012I have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).

Jan 13, 2014I'm using CS3 on a Mac.
I outlined my text and subtracted it (and the tree image) from the black background. When I did this both appear thinner - particularly the tree.
If I then take the original version and the new subtracted version, and view them both overlayed one on top of the other in wire frame (outline) mode, there is no difference in the actual lines.
It seems to be a problem with the way illustrator previews the images. This wouldn't concern me, but when I export the file as a jpeg, the lines also appear thinner in the export.
I can create a manual solution by offsetting the path before subtracting, but this isn't ideal.

Aug 24, 2013This happens occasionally-out of nowhere the brush tool stops showing as a circle of specfic diameter and shows as a crosshairs, which does me no good whatever. This goes for all tools using the brush presets-brush, eraser, and stamp. I can't do anything. because I can't see the tool I'm working with. I tried restarting PS, then restarting with trashed prefs. Neither worked. I know that sooner or later it will come back and all wil be well, but meanwhile, the deadlines are creeping closer & closer. The enemy is at the gates.

Nov 1, 2008When using paint brush at 25% of full screen in the editing window, the paint brush circle starts to break up at 400 pixels ie it shows only the upper left part of the circle. At 50% of full screen it does the same starting at 175 pixels.
Can anyone duplicate this on their machine.
I run Photoshop CS4 on Wondows XP Pro SP2.
since I use the paint brush much of the time.
