View 1 RepliesA couple of weeks ago, I was doing a Photoshop tutorial that had me change my brush settings to spatter. Now I can't remember where I changed it or find the spot where I can change it back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I work with brush I very often have to move my image verically or horizontally. Therefore I have to find the state where i can use the hand to move my image. This I have done purely using the try & error method. How toswitch between brush and move. Zoom also is a bit problematic for me. I am too stuck to PSE.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working with a drawing done by an architect. It is a map tile with a site layout drawn on. The way it is rotated, north is actually pointing somewhere east. I reckon they have shifted the UCS for whatever reason, and the cursor has become that rotated red and green crosshairs.
How can I change it back so the north of the map tile is actually pointing north?
When I try to select areas in PS CS6 my whole document turns black. As soon as I deselect it comes back in view.Is there something wrong with my setting?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was getting brush lag for a few days after installing CS6. every 4 or so normal brush strokes, the brush would start to lag. And after a few lagging strokes it would go back to normal and then repeat itself.
The first thing I did was delete the work spaces that I never use (I doubt that fixed the problem).
Second thing I did was turn the cache levels to 1 and set image previews to "never save" (found this tip online, didn't fix the lag problem but I still kept those settings anyway).
The third thing (and what I believe fixed the problem) was going to "performance" in Photoshop, clicking on the advanced settings for your graphics processor and turning the drawing mode from advanced to basic.
I never had to do this on cs4 which is why it took a few days of tinkering around to fix the problem.
I have downloaded the above update 3 times and no matter what i do , including "run as administrator" not a lot happens when i double click the .exe file.I get the waiting cursor but then the cursor just changes back to the normal pointer.
Win Vista 32 bit Business , all updates installed .
Using the brush tool in CS3, I find I have no normal mode to choose in the options toolbar. The available blend modes start with "behind" and end with "luminosity," but there is no normal. Shouldn't I find this option here?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI inherited a computer at work where the pan function scrolls the drawing left when I move the mouse right. Where is the option to change it back to normal?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI added keywords to some photos, then found that Lightroom 3 had inappropriately put them all inside the existing keyword "climbing", apparently on its own initiative. Now I can't move the keywords out of "climbing" back to normal "unclassified" status so that *I* can arrange them (or not) as I choose.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm confused by these two brush tips. I have CS2 and in the Edit / Preferences / Display & Cursors there is the Normal Brush Tip and the Full Size Brush Tip. The Normal shows that the cursor corresponds to about 100%of the area it draws; the Full Size shows that it is bigger than the area it draws.
Two questions:-
1. What is the use for this latter cursor?
2. Why does it say in the User Guide and the Help that the Normal "corresponds to approximately 50% of the area that the tool will affect" and the Full Size "corresponds to nearly 100% of the area that the tool will affect"?
Mighty puzzling, although it has already been acknowledged that the User Guides are poor. Is this an example or am I missing something?
My brush and dropper tips had changed when I opened the program today. I'm trying to switch from Precise to Normal. I've tried to change it through Preferences, but it seems that my changes won't save. I have Elements 10 and Windows 8.

View 2 Replies View Relatedsketching with pshop but I seem to have a problem with my brushes. I am using my tablet and set the brush to use the pen pressure. Works great until I switch to another brush size. Then when I go back to the original brush the preset is back to the original. Is this normal in 7? I seem to remember 6 kept the presets. Maybe I just didn't notice this little lack in the feature?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf you use the Create Envelope from Top Shape feature, and then later Release the Envelope you at first appear to get your original shape back.
But it's actually an object called a Mesh. While you can apply Fills and Strokes to this released Mesh, there are some things you can't do with it.
Like setting the Stroke to Inside or Outside. You also can't use this Mesh with the Pathfinder Operations.
Is there a way to return a released Envelope Mesh back a normal path?
I'm using Photshop CS5.1 on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) and don't seem to be able to load tpl files.
I put the file in Photoshop's "presets -> tools" folder and tried to open it via the brush presets picker. When I browse for the file, only ABR files are shown, TPLs are greyed out.
i've got a little problem with defining custom brushes. i know how to do it, but i'm not getting quite what i want.
anyone know / have an idea how to solve this? (i'm using photoshop CS)
how to print my entire library of brushes. Or how to make them larger in CS3. Not when I go to use them, but just to view them. They are so tiny and I would just love to make a sort of catalog of them without having to open each one, paint with it, etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom the Brush Presets Panel, I choose Basic Brushes from the drop down menu. Then Replace. The new choice of brushes appear in the Brush Panel and in the Brush Presets Panel.
But in the Brush Panel, additional brushes appear.
There are always more brushes in the Brush Panel than the Brush Presets Panel whenever I Replace. The Brushes Preset Manager is populated with identical brushes as the Brush Presets Panel. What determines the additional brushes that appear in the Brush Panel?
I read on Photoshop Help that custom brush presets are stored in a preferences file within the Documents and Settings folder. I had a few custom brush presets that I'd built up over a few years in CS2 on a computer (with 2 harddrives) that died 2 weeks ago. The data on the two harddrives were succesfully transferred to a new computer (in a folder called "Old Drive" which still contains all the CS2 settings). To recover those custom brush presets can I just copy the "Brushes.psp" file from the old Settings folder to the new CS2 Settings folder (which does not currently have a Brushes.psp file because I haven't made any new brushes yet)?
For that matter can I copy and paste all the individual old settings (Actions Palette, Contours, Favorites,Patterns, Color Settings, Custom Shapes,New Doc Sizes, PluginCache, and Styles) into the new to recover what I had before? What am I likely to mess up by doing that? Could I just copy and paste the old folder "Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings" into the new folder?
How to change my import presets back to default or none. I changed it on a photo and now my pics are all yellow. How to change. I reset and it still does it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIllustrator has a user section. Photoshop CS5 will display your custom brushes in the preset manager.
I use a Mac OSX 10.8. When I download brushes and install them in the User/Application Support/PS/Presets/Brushes they will appear in the preset manager without having to 'load' brushes each time. Yet, when you make a new preset and save the .abr file you can not save them to the proper location since Lion has the library folder hidden by default.
For instance, when downloading brushes, it's easier to combined multiple sets into one presets. I don't want 20 different smoke abr files. Yet, I can't save them to Application Support.
No one has a clear understanding of how this works (at least not on the internet.) The best thread (from Adobe forums) I found from 2011 stated I should do the above steps, but then a few other users reported thats out of fashion.
