I want to know if I have understand this correctly or not: layer previous undos the last change in layer related command. Then If my last action is on layer, unod command will do the same. layer previous advantage is when you want to perform an undo which is not your last action.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS3 extended 10.0.1 on Mac Intel. I have made a layer of one photo that I want to blend into another. Last time I did this in the distant past, there were handles in the selected layer that I wanted to blend and I could grab and drag those handles to change the size of that layer in relation to the other.
It was very simple. I have been at it for quite awhile now but those handles are not there and I can find no way to make them appear. I cannot change the size of one layer in relation to the other.
50% of time I do this the style menu come up instead.
With mouse, no problem, with Wacom pen, this happens.
I don't see a right click option to change a layer name, maybe I don't see it?
I made a layer, then I added an ellipse to it then I created a duplicate but I want to move this one somewhere else but change the color.
I tried using the tool that you get when you press 'w' and selected the shape but then how do I change the color? Is this the correct approach to take at all?
I should say is there a tool that can change the color of the layer quickly? So if I open photoshop, then I want the entire layer to be a color what should I do?
I did Apple - A to select All, Edit...Fill and picked a color.
I add one ore two duplicate layers to the background layer. Then I add multiple adjustment layers (e.g., Hue/Sat; Brightness, Cotrast,etc.). Then I want to use the Clone Stamp to take something off of the background. The only way I am able to remove an item with the clone stamp is to remove it from the background and the duplicate layers ONE LAYER AT A TIME. Of course, I could always remove the object before I make the dups, but is there anyway to do this by going to any ONE layer and removing the object (using the Clone Stamp or any other tool)?

View 2 Replies View Relatedthere is a way to change layer scrolling shortcuts. I know that default ones are Alt + [ or ] to scroll through layers, but unfortunately my country's keyboard does NOT have [ and ] keys. Therefore I am unable to quickly scroll through my layers. So I went into the keyboard shortcuts menu and searched it over and over again and couldn't find the these two shortcuts.
I should change the keyboard setting in Windows, but changing the keyboard setting on my computer is not an option here, because I've been using my country's keyboard + translated version of windows my whole life. Even if I did change the the keyboard to English one in Windows, I still wouldn't know on which keys certain symbols.
How do I change the color and/or adjust the color of a single object in a layer without it effecting the other objects in that layer and without it effecting the other layers in the group? I'm using PS6 .

View 3 Replies View RelatedBy default Adobe Photoshop creates new layers on top of the current layer. In the Western languages we read from top to bottom and left to right. So when I start creating a web site in Photoshop I start from top to bottom as well. However Photoshop creates the new layer above the current, which is the opposite of what I would like to do. I need Photoshop to create new layers below the current layer. I know by holding CTRL/COMMAND and clicking the NEW LAYER icon, will do what I need. However if I do CTRL+J to jump/duplicate the current layer, or select a layer and ALT+DRAG again to duplicate it, again it puts the new layers in top. Is there a way to reverse the default order Photoshop places layers? If not, I suggest that to Adobe implement an option in the general settings for Photoshop. Flash for example had similar option to read/place layers from top to bottom or bottom to top.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have one PSD that I moved from one Windows 7 machine running CS5 to another. When I open the file on the second machine all of the text layers have the little alert triangle icon. When I try to edit the text I get the message:
"Rendering the text layer will cause its layout to change. Existing pixel data will be used."
The font being used is Verdana - which I believe is native on both machines. There are no faux files applied to the fonts. Both machines are running CS5.

How do I change the thumbnail image in a layer?
View 17 Replies View Relatedhow to change the colour of the selected layer in the layers pallete? It's quite annoying the way it is (Dull grey/blue) and sometimes hard to see what layer's selected?
I prefer the brighter blue on my other computer!
The problem I'm having is that when I try to edit a text layer, the layout of the layer changes completely - I have a grey warning triangle in the affected layer thumbnail that states the following message when I hover over it :
'Font is present on system but requires a layout change'
When I double click to edit the text layer, the following warning dialog pops up:
'Editing or Rendering the text layer will cause the layout to change'
I'm forced to click 'okay' to proceed which is when the layout of the text layer changes completely! Obviously this has massive implications for branding and page consitency!!
Now even if I have to do this the long way round, which means rebuilding each individual text layer for every single document, there is another problem, it appears that after I click 'OK' photoshop distorts the text! This means that I can't increase or decrease the font size to match it up! Same font, Same height, same AA, same weight, different circle radius!
I'm using CS5 64bit Cloud edition on Windows 7, I've already tried updating and reinstalling Photoshop but it doesnt remedy the problem, I've reinstalled a sample batch of the fonts affected and deleted any plugins

I saved these action sets and loaded them into CS6. and they kept failing saying they couldn't find layer "Shape 1" "Shape 2" etc . this is because in CS6 the layers are now called "Rectangle 1" "Elipse 1" etc . How can I get this to revert back to the "Shape 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc".
