I made the following image in Illustrator by tracing an image and filling it with black to get the silhoutte. I then, used the type area tool to fill the silhouette with text.
Is there a better way to do this (in photoshop or illustrator)?
Also, how would I adjust the text to better fit (fill) the shape of the silhouette?
II just want a black line outlining the text, with a photo insidethe text.

Right, so I want to fill the interior of this word with the said stars, but I really haven't become accustomed to the process of gettting those mapped in there.

GetPathStyle (myArt, &pathArtStyle);
pathArtStyle.strokePaint = false;

pathArtStyle.fill.color.c.b.gradient = myGradient;

how would you turn a regular pic into a silhouette? Or how else would you go about it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image that I would liked to get the shape from and enlarge to 24" (that is not the full-res image.). I am trying to extract the rings along with the torch, meanwhile making that pattern black and the background white. I can use the magic wand at certain tolerances to get it out, but, like the picture, the edges are not sharp, but pixelated. is there a way I can extract this shape but have very smooth and defined edges, even if the picture does not have them? im trying not to have to zoom in real far and use the lasso to outline the entire thing myself.
I might add that extract edges doesn't work too well on this image
how to make the silhouette effect below. I see it used on alot of projects and also used as a fake pencil drawing effect on paper.
Also interested in the minor old effect used in the red area's.
I am trying to make a silhouette of the Ford Fair lane in the zip file attached below, and place it into the BANNER_ONE.psd document. This is for a contest (redesigning the banner), so I have attached the current banner as well (profile_header.jpg).
The requirements for the banner are as follows:
incorporate "the driver's seat of youtube" and "the most automotive variety" (DONE)incorporate featured in car and driver, perhaps with that October 2011 issue cover (DONE)incorporate something related to the make a wish foundation silhouette design possibly using the 65 fairlane.
So, what is the best way to trace a silhouette of the Fairlane, similar to the one in the original banner? I was thinking the Pen Tool, but seeing as how I'm on a laptop and don't have access to an external mouse until late tomorrow (I'm away for the weekend), that's not the best option at the moment.
I want to reduce the length of the legs a bit and straighten the back one out a bit.How can you go about this without changing a lot of the anchor points? Is there a way to select a portion of the leg or image and move it separately?

Can people recommend what is the best way to accomplish this?
I know that i could use the pen tool to manually trace over these lines, and i don't need to preserve the color of the lines, so this would work. But it would be better to not have to do it manually.
I've successfully used the magic wand tool to select the area outside of these lines, and i can then invert the selection to select the area inside of these lines. This should put me about one step away from getting to where i'm trying to go, but i don't know what the final step should be.
I have a photo of a model that I want to turn into a silhouette image. I have tried different things that I could think of, just can't see to get the effect that I am looking for.

I used a shield design base from a video game and i am now creating new silhouettes for the different sections of the shield to reflect the holiday. View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a line drawing of the outline of a chair. I tried following the various Illustrator tutorials to take the image of a chair and create a silhouette. However, I can't figure out how to take this silhouette and get just the outline of it. The Illustrator Image Trace tool doesn't seem to have an option to just save the outline.
Is there an easy way in Illustrator or Photoshop to turn this silhouette into an outline image that I can save as a file? I will print the outline in a very light opacity so that the lines are barely visible for hand rendering. I don't want to use the pen tool to outline the silhouette because my hand is too shaky to do a good job.

I am trying to create a sheet of floor plans that does not show the next floor down on each floor plan but I can't seem to find out how to do it. So my friend is making these designs on paper and i am tasked to put them into photoshop. The problem is when i scan them in they are patchy they look horrible. This is a basic question as I am a novice with both Illustrator and Photoshop. I have a vector shape of an apple in Illustrator. It is 2 piece- the body and the stem. I would like to fill this shape with a part of a photograph.
I'm wondering if I should do this in Illustrator or should move it over to Photoshop as a selection and then do it there? I'm also going to bevel the edges of the shape.
The next question is how to do it, which tool should I be using in either program? Is this considered a "fill" operation or am I cutting this shape out of the photo?
I'd like to select a section of an image and then fill it with a texture from another image. For instance, I could add bark texture from a tree to a section of a face. I'm not sure how to select a texture from one image and apply it to another.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a pattern of concrete block coursing that I want to apply to a picture of the side of a building. The pattern is clipped so that it will repeat appropriately when filled into a large area. The problem is that depending on where I fill in the canvas, the pattern never fills in with the same start point. I want it to always start at the bottom left corner of the pattern (which is the bottom left corner of a block). Is there a way to set the point that a pattern moves out from? Also, does the pattern radiate from its center point or one of the corners?
In Autocad there is a snapbase command that lets you choose the start point for a pattern. This is exactly what I'm looking for in photoshop.
I have defined the picture of a brick wall as pattern. I want to fill an area with that but:
1) The area is smaller
2)I want it 2x2
