Photoshop :: Filling With A Texture

Nov 21, 2006

I'd like to select a section of an image and then fill it with a texture from another image. For instance, I could add bark texture from a tree to a section of a face. I'm not sure how to select a texture from one image and apply it to another.

Illustrator :: Filling Objects With Texture Images - Transparency?

Jun 14, 2012

I'm drawing some illustrations and want to fill overlapping objects with a paper texture. I have done this using the Transparency window and placing a paper texture image over each object. The problem is that where the objects overlap to create the whole picture, they are quite transparent and so you get the effect of layers of tissue paper. I want each object to look completely opaque, but despite opacity being set to 100% on each object, they don't.

I've tried filling the objects with lighter / darker paper texture images and tweaking the Transparency settings to Darker / Ligher / Soft or hard light, etc.

Photoshop :: Generate Some (around 6-8) Texture Files Within Original Texture File

Nov 5, 2012

For my 3D scene, I have to use a texture file on the floor. If I use the only file, than it looks really boring and below par. What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?

Paint.NET :: Cracks On Ground Texture That Show Lava Texture

Mar 4, 2012

I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?

I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

Photoshop :: Filling In A Background

May 18, 2006

I need to have a border of about two inches around my painting in the same color as the background of the painting. In the past, I've cloned the color out to my desired dimensions,

I want to open a new window in photoshop of the dimensions I need.... fill it in with the color of the background of the painting, move the painting into this new window, flatten it and print it out.

How do I fill the new blank document with the correct or close color?

Photoshop :: Filling A Shape

Nov 22, 2006

This is a basic question as I am a novice with both Illustrator and Photoshop. I have a vector shape of an apple in Illustrator. It is 2 piece- the body and the stem. I would like to fill this shape with a part of a photograph.

I'm wondering if I should do this in Illustrator or should move it over to Photoshop as a selection and then do it there? I'm also going to bevel the edges of the shape.

The next question is how to do it, which tool should I be using in either program? Is this considered a "fill" operation or am I cutting this shape out of the photo?

Photoshop :: Filling With Patterns

Aug 3, 2006

I created a pattern of concrete block coursing that I want to apply to a picture of the side of a building. The pattern is clipped so that it will repeat appropriately when filled into a large area. The problem is that depending on where I fill in the canvas, the pattern never fills in with the same start point. I want it to always start at the bottom left corner of the pattern (which is the bottom left corner of a block). Is there a way to set the point that a pattern moves out from? Also, does the pattern radiate from its center point or one of the corners?

In Autocad there is a snapbase command that lets you choose the start point for a pattern. This is exactly what I'm looking for in photoshop.

Photoshop :: Filling Paths With Color In CS4

Jan 29, 2013

I am working in Photoshop CS4...have been for years.  All of a sudden, when I try to fill a closed path with a color, it fills the entire art board with color, except not inside the path.  I have not selected "inverse" or anything....and it has never done this before....I can't figure out why it has started doing this, and I can't get it to stop.  Most of the paths in my file, I have made in Illustrator and  then pasted into Photoshop...they work normally....it is just the ones I actually draw in Photoshop that are doing this....one thing I have noticed is that in the paths palette, the paths I pasted in from Illustrator have a grey background.....while the paths I actually drew in Photoshop have a white background.

Photoshop :: CS4 - Filling In Pre-printed Certificates?

Oct 8, 2012

I've used Photoshop CS4 for sometime but I'm no expert!A club I'm in has asked me to fill in pre-printed membership certificates with members names etc. The only way I can think of for doing this would be to scan the certificate and call it layer

1. Then fill in the new details and call it layer 2.I then remove layer 1 and layer 2 is in the correct position for inserting the certificate into the printer and printing on it.Of course this is just my theory, how to even try it!

I don't want to use the magic wand tool on the font, and then cut out shape from a clouds background. I need more detail than that would offer to get the effect.

I am using photoshop for yesterday and it's black magic for me, so I ask you for a little favour. Namely, I owe a picture that needs new background, but just partial. Here's the link

As you can see there I am located between doors, that's good and I want them to leave untouched, but the point is to remove wall and stairs behind my back and switch it with sky, clouds texture (image). For example this one. I mean not to insert the whole background, just adequate part of it.

Photoshop :: Why Is Layer Mask Filling With Grey

May 14, 2013

I'm working in a multi layered CS5.1 Photoshop project (I did not create it). One of the adjustment layers in the project needs a layer masks, and when I create one it is not working properly. I make my selection that I want to mask off and create the layer mask it creates it with White and a 50% gray insted of black. Likewise when I alt click to create a layer mask it fills it in with black and 50% gray. The layer did have a 87% opacity to it so I thought this was causing the gray to happen, but when I turned the Opacity to 100% the mask was still being created with gray.

I use the fill tool to fill the gray with Black or White (Fill settings are opacity 100 and fill 100) it fills the mask more like my fill opacity is set to 50%. Likewise it does this for the pant brush as well. I have messed with every layer setting I can find including the layer mask panel and the adjustment layer panel, and nothing seem to work.

Photoshop :: Ctrl + 0 Not Filling Up Windows Size

Aug 20, 2012

when I pressed ctrl + 0 in Photoshop, an image came to fill up the available window space within Photoshop. Now, ctrl + 0 causes the image to become roughly 3 inches tall. If the image is twice as tall as it is wide, it becomes roughly 1.5" x 3". If it is twice as wide as it is tall, it becomes 6" x 3". But it never fills up the entire window space, which is about 5". I don't know why the image is defaulting to this size, and it is too small to work with. Did I inadvertently change some setting? Is it possible to restore ctrl + 0 to make the image fill the available window size again?

Photoshop :: Gaussian Blur Filling Object

Jul 23, 2012

Create a shape with the Rounded Rectangle > I apply a Gradient & Bevel

New Layer > Fill with White > Ctrl + Alt + G (clipping mask) > change Layer Blend to Multiply > Opactity to 35% > Filter > Noise > Add Noise
New Layer > Ctrl + Alt + G > Ctrl + Click on the Rounded Rectangle Shape to create a Selection

From there I am suppose to add a Stroke by right clicking on the object but that doesn't work. The only menu that pops up is a list of my layers. So, rather I select the Rounded Rectangle layer and then click Effects and select Stroke and then set the values for the stroke. Next I am suppose to add a blur.

Blur > Gaussian Blur but the Stroke ends up filling the entire object. No, I didn't set the Blur to like 1,000 it's only set to 5.9 . I tried this on an other computer and the same thing happens. I called Adobe but they were unable to assist even get as far as the Stroke.
