way to fill in shapes that have gaps without the colour bleeding all over the rest of the page?
For instance in Macromedia Flash there's an option to close small, medium, large gaps so that the colour remains within the shape.
I'm using Photoshop 7.0
Is there a way I can fill the gaps in this surface? The surface is a combination of four pasted surfaces with boundaries set so they dont overlap on each other and create a mess.. I can't have these holes/slivers in it because SiteVision wont accept it. So basically is there a command that will fill the gaps in for me?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWith shapes that are intended to fit exactly with one another, such as shapes created with pathfinder>divide I find often that there are very small cracks between the shapes and that these will show up if the shapes are exported to Photoshop in a more pronounced way.
What's the workaround to 'seal' one shape to another and rid the result of these gaps?
Joining the shapes is not an option as they are different colours.
Im using CS6 and when saving to PDF my live paint objects have a slight gap inbetween the shapes in the live paint object. They do not appeare in the illustrator file or when saved as jpeg, png, etc only PDFs. I have been using Illustrator for a couple years now and this has not happened in previous versions I've worked with (CS3, 4, and 5)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking for the best way to carry this out. I have a drawing which I have scanned into my computer. The drawing is of one big shape made up of random, interlocking shapes - something like a jigsaw. Each of the shapes I want to be filled with different, single words.
I think cutting out each shape one at a time, filling with text then re piecing together may be the best option?
I should say that nothing of the original drawing needs to stay in the finished image, it's really just the shapes I am after so piecing them back together in a new document could be an option.
My basic goal is to fill this overall flower shape with a colour - its made up of individual outlines. Is there a way I can either fill the whole object with a colour, or somehow make a singular outline of the overall shape of the flower. Dont want to use the pen tool t9o make a quiock outline because I want it to be exact to the lines i've already got. I know I could go and delete sections out and join parts together but I was wondering if there is a quicker trick to this that I'm just not aware of?

I am creating some geometric patters with the transform tool. Basically a shape is rotated about a center point. When the shapes are combined they create some quick interesting shapes. However, is there a way to fill in the gaps in the combined shape automatically, without having to manually use the smart fill tool?
Breaking the shape apart does not work, because the geometric pattern is based on the overlaps. I included a jpg of what I am doing to circumvent the manual smart fill, but is there an easier way, especially where the geometric patterns become very complex.
I can take the object, trim from a background, break apart that trimmed shape, then color it, or group or shape into a single curve, then align and group with the original object. But just looking to see if there is another easier way.
When I draw a character, i cannot change line weight of fill shapes. When I do so it remains unchanged, however once I export everything is fine and okay.

I would like to use a vector object made in AI as a custom shape to be used as a cookie cutter in elements.. I imported the AI file in photoshop but the "define custom shape" entry under "edit" was grayed out.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI forgot to switch the frame rate from 29.97 to 12 fps when I started working on an animation and when I switched to 12 fps mid-project the frames changed.
I have a hard time describing exactly what's going on so I'll just post a screenshot instead. Basically each frame has a gap in between and I am unable to line up the frames back to back. I was hoping to find out how to fix it so the frames play back to back seamlessly without any gaps. But yeah, when I attempt to align the frames back to back it won't let me, instead the frames overlap halfway or have this gap in between.
I am trying to replicate a rule (the top most one). Some one flattened this layer. I have created the rule but I seem to have a slight grey in between the boxes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAutoCAD generates gaps to my drawing, sometimes there is NO gap and then it says there is when I'm selection new are to hatch (puts the red circle to old place where it didn't earlier say there is gap!). I have tried to use Gap Tolerance tool first with value of 10 but it didn't work. After that I changed it to 1000 and it worked but the hatch area wasn't good. I also tried to pull line over other and trim it, didn't work either. Used also join but it didn't work.
I have used object snap always when I drew the picture. I have zoomed as much I can and there is no gaps.

We are having issues with gaps in our drawings when we print using Autocad LT. It has been fine for months and one day it just started printing with gaps between certain areas. However the gaps are not consistent and the gaps only happens with lines and not text or images.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI drew something up on a sheet of paper, scanned it, then traced it's bitmap as line art. I then proceded to edit the vectors to recover all the detail I lost with the tracing. It took forever!
Now that I´m done, I realised there is a problem... how can I color in the drawing, if the lines themselves make up the shape? Essentially, I´m left with blank spaces in between all the lines instead of solid individual shapes that can be colored in.
What can I do? I´m so desperate I´m thinking of creating a gazillion individual shapes with the colors, and slapping them underneath the lines to "improv" a fill. But that will take waay too long, so is there an easier way?
If I could "invert" the shape I have now, so that the blank spaces become individual shapes, and the lines become blank spaces.
I have attached a part. On the four corners of the front face there is large gaps. I am unable to use the seam comand to fix these.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working with an area around a couple miles of road running SW to NE. I have metric lidar tiles in GeoTiff format. The tiles are 1,500 meters on an edge. I'm working in US Survey feet.
I originally tried creating a Surface of all 9 tiles I needed and then cropped the resultant Surface. But that was too large for my computer to handle. So I created 9 drawing each with one tile Surface in it. Now I've created a Data shortcut Reference for them all in one drawing. I got all the Surfaces in but noticed that there were gaps between the borders.
I was wondering if it was a coordinate system conversion problem. But all the settings check out. Now I think that this may be an expected behavior. I measured the gaps between the Borders and found that they all ran very close to 6.56'. In metric that's almost exactly 2 meters. 2 m is the separation of points in the Lidar surface.
BTW I'm working this in 2014.

I am plotting this using an OKI C821 colour printer.
It prints with gaps between the black text/lines and the red and green sectors.
I want to eliminate the gaps.
I have tried increasing`VIEWRES' to 20,000 and segements in a Pline arc to 1000.

I try to create a patternbrush using an image. Image is created in PS and lines up nice horizontaly. Droping it into Illustrator. From there I drag and drop it onto the brush panel and create a patterbrush. I also include an empty rectangle to control the spacing ( suggested elsewhere ? ). If I apply that brush to a curved path there are always little gaps between the segments. How can I construct the brush without the gaps? There is a denimseam brush within Illustrator that does exactly what I try to achieve except I can not.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use the 3D 'Extrude and bevel' tool on a complex shape (a map of the UK)The vector is a compound path, when i apply the effect when its quite small it works, however when i increase the size of the shape the outline fails to render properly and hence is not filled as it should be, there are gaps in the image.
I have scale stroke and effects turned on.If i try to apply the effect on a version that is already the size i want it i get the same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a surface using the grading tool. I have a known top and a designed floor. I extended the floor surface out to meet the top breakline. I then use the grading tool to run a 3:1 down to the pond floor so I know where the true breakline is, but there is almost always a gap or two in my surface. It is usually less than a foot, but it has made my OCD kick in and I am going crazy trying to figure it out. I've traced of the breaklines, and the contours and added them to the surface to try and fix it, but that doesn't seem to work.

I am doing a small drawing with bolts and nuts. I wish to show the centerline visible, but with CENTER2, and selecting the line for Property, I changed the Linetype scale to .25. However, the actual line on the drawing doesn't show a centerline but a continuous line. See, figures below. I wonder if the gaps between the small dash and the long lines can be increased.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the knife tool on an shapeit leaves a gap where I slice. First I thought it was just an illusion in the program but it stays even after I've exported the image (both by "save as" in illustrator and "export" in inDesign). I've been careful not to move the shapeafter I used the tool so I don't think that should be a reason.
I've tried on different types of shapes like normal circles and more complex shapes. I've also attempted to start a new file from scratch but with the same result What could the reason be? Is there a setting I should be aware of?

It also looks the same if I place it in inDesign and then export to pdf.
EDIT: I don't know if it is important but the size of the shape is about an A4 or there about.
