im writing text inside a shape and ive got that far ive even changed font sizes, now id like to write smaller text in the gaps between different font sizes. im using PSCS2.

For instance in Macromedia Flash there's an option to close small, medium, large gaps so that the colour remains within the shape.
I'm using Photoshop 7.0
Is there a way I can fill the gaps in this surface? The surface is a combination of four pasted surfaces with boundaries set so they dont overlap on each other and create a mess.. I can't have these holes/slivers in it because SiteVision wont accept it. So basically is there a command that will fill the gaps in for me?

The text cursor disappears when I try to enter it into the rectangle and when I place it on the edge of the rectangle, it rurns into a slanted "A" and allows texting on the border of the rectangle. Corel Paint Shop Photo Pro X3 (build date Sept 7, 2010). This software came with my new HP Pavilion dv7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep getting the error message "For the Photoshop UI to display correctly, open System Preferences, click Appearance, and turn off text smoothing for font sizes 8 and smaller." I go into preferences and into general but there is no setting to turn off text smoothing for a specific font. I'm in osx mavericks and all it says is "use lsd font smoothing when available" and when I uncheck it, the error message in photoshop still pops up.

When I create the path I can put my text tool "over" the path & my cursor switches to a curved line through the cursor, but when I place the cursor "inside" the path it just goes back to regular cursor & if I click inside it just starts a new (regular) text layer.
In older versions as soon as I placed my text cursor inside the path it would switch to the text cursor inside parenthesis. And thus type inside the path. That doesn't happen anymore.
I'm trying to find a way to fit a text inside a shape and to align it exactly to the shape borders, I was trying to play with the justification panel under the paragraph link but couldn't make it work,
I was trying to fit my text inside a shape look like the number 7 so eventually when a viewer see it they can recognize the number 7 without a stroke - only by the text insize the shape, above is an example of what happe when I try the same with a circular shape - I would like the test to fit in nicely filling the entire circle.
I select a shape and choose file > place to place some text in it, though the text does not display, the stroke also disappears indicating that it seemed to do something.

I have three lines of text, the first line of which has a font size of 20 pt, and the second and third lines having a font size of 13 pt. The default leading is greater between the first and second lines than between the second and third -- probably due to the font size difference. I would like to make the leading equal for all lines, regardless of font size, but can't figure out how to do that. "Format Text - Spacing - Lines" seems to offer leading only in relation to character height -- which automatically makes the leading between the first and second line larger (due to the larger font size used in the first line) than it is between the subsequent lines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a bunch of filled ellipses scattered around a drawing, and I want to place numbers & symbols inside these shapes. But whenever I choose the text tool and click inside the shape Corel is 'automatically assuming' that I want to format as paragraph text, and then it's all over. The only way I can 'escape' the paragraph formatting is to delete the shape & start over.
Is there any way I can temporarily-disable paragraph text, or force the characters to be artistic text?
I really enjoy this new draw inside feature in Illustrator. But, I find that it does not always work. It seems to be grayed out sometimes. For example, I have drawn a shape with my Wacom tablet using a blush. I then converted it to a shape instead of keeping it a stroke by expanding it. But it will not allow me to now draw inside of it, even though it is a shape.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the knife tool on an shapeit leaves a gap where I slice. First I thought it was just an illusion in the program but it stays even after I've exported the image (both by "save as" in illustrator and "export" in inDesign). I've been careful not to move the shapeafter I used the tool so I don't think that should be a reason.
I've tried on different types of shapes like normal circles and more complex shapes. I've also attempted to start a new file from scratch but with the same result What could the reason be? Is there a setting I should be aware of?

It also looks the same if I place it in inDesign and then export to pdf.
EDIT: I don't know if it is important but the size of the shape is about an A4 or there about.
This is a basic question as I am a novice with both Illustrator and Photoshop. I have a vector shape of an apple in Illustrator. It is 2 piece- the body and the stem. I would like to fill this shape with a part of a photograph.
I'm wondering if I should do this in Illustrator or should move it over to Photoshop as a selection and then do it there? I'm also going to bevel the edges of the shape.
The next question is how to do it, which tool should I be using in either program? Is this considered a "fill" operation or am I cutting this shape out of the photo?
I dont really know what to call this thread as it is hard to explain what I want.... So lits say that I have a circle and I want my font to take shape and fill the inside of the circle, how would I go about doing this... I know that you can set a path and have the font foll the path but that I not what I want... What I am really asking is a fill but with the text that I am writing...

I want to leave the background untouched (if filled) or transparent.
I don't want to use the magic wand tool on the font, and then cut out shape from a clouds background. I need more detail than that would offer to get the effect.
this is not a hard one, but it is hard for me to figure out. i would like to find out how to fill a shape with some patterns exactly like how it looks in the below picture. As you can see, the filled pattern pictures(those small hearts) are not overlayed and the sizes are random. And the edge of the shape(that's the big heart) is just smooth. how to do it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this strange situation.. i use the Arial font inside my cad drawings and when i print my paperspace layout, the text inside the viewport is a little bit more "bold" then the text i put directly on paper space.
Maybe it's a trick to know what text is placed where, but i want all this to be uniform, same thickness. Is there a system variable to correct that issue?

Up to COUPE C1 is the text inside the viewport, under COUPE C1is the paperspace text. Both are the same height... but difference tickness.
After filling the inside of a line drawing, (cartoon "shape"), I'm left with the checkerboard pattern that indicates transparency. I'd just like to get rid of that checkerboard pattern so I can view my drawing the way it really looks! Can this be done in GIMP?
View 6 Replies View Related If I'm creating a batch "text" for a number of files the strangest thing happens. I have to change 10 files all with the same or very close to the same pixel size. In this case 1024Lx . I want to insert a "copyright" text across the image. I create the action, that includes: text, text size of18pts and opacity. and then batch.
The resulting font sizes are very uneven. They are all show up in the individual files as 18 pt but some are invisiblley small some are gigantically large and some are just right. And my name's not Goldilocks. I've tried this on PS3 and PS6 with the same results.
I currently am running Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7. When I am using the Brush or Pencil tools, sometimes the Cursor will change to a curved X shape. This appears to happen at certain sizes (between 65px to250px) and then goes back to the normal circle shape when larger or smaller. The brush itself paints normally but there are times where I need to know exactly what areas it is going to color. I am using the default brushes, no custom ones.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm in a Photoshop document, and I'm working with two different text areas. Both area registering as 14px in size in the Type menu, and yet, they're radically different in size. One is tiny, whilst the other is at least twice, maybe thrice the size. Why is this happening?
I've checked there's no overlapping text areas and things like that, everything should be fairly normal, it just isn't.
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 x64 for Mac, running on a Macbook Pro Retina 1.83ghz and 8GB ram.
