I tried to use a scanned picture in photoshop and is said the file was too large I scanned the photo at 4800 dpi. Thats too large. What the highest resolution is, that can be used in Photoshop?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with the editor to ascertain exactly what format he wants these images in. The film is being shot with HD video, and the editor keeps telling me he wants the images in the "absolute native Pixel dimensions of the RAW image".
I shot raw images with a canon 5D Mark II, so technically, I believe this would be approximately 5,616 x 3,744 (of course, this would vary for each image, but this is the data I have read about the camera sensor).
I shot about 1,000 images, so to deliver 1,000 images, output as TIFF's, at something like 4,000 pixels.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a large number of landscape images (golf course holes) that are 1600x1200 pixels and I would like to be able to print them at an image size of 8.5"x11.0" with 300dpi.
Would I be better off using the resampling capabilities of CS6 or Perfect Resize 7.5 (I do not currently own this software but can afford it) to "upsample" the image or scanning the smaller prints (4.0"x5.3" at 300dpi) with a larger number of pixels and then re-printing the images at the larger size? Note; I own a Epson Perfection V750M Pro scanner that is capable of 6400x6400 scans.
I realize I can have a 30-day free trial of the Perfect Resize 7.5 but thought I would try the forums before I went to the trouble of downloading and using this new software and then comparing it to the scanned and reprinted images.
I occasionally use the option when saving an edited picture to just overwrite the original. I would have thought that this option might go further by having the program default of making the saved copy the the same size as the original or if its dimensions had altered save at the same resolution& degree of compression.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the Nikon Super CoolScan8000 and Vuescan program to scan a slide film. I am scanning at this setting: scan resolution 4000 dpi. I have to make it a certain dimension that someone has been asking me for. They want the image at Width = 60cm (approx. 23 inches) and 300 dpi.
When I scan at 4000 dpi, I'm not sure what size to make the printed width. I have experimented numerous times and I've had no luck with getting exactly what I want. It seems that when I make the width 60 cm (the height adjusts proportionately) and the dpi at 300, the quality is not that great, which it definitely needs to be because it will be printed at a large size.
PS I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
I have an image from a magazine that is 9" X 7.5" and want to scan it so that I can get the best resolution from it and be able to place it on a banner that will be 3ft X5ft.
In what format should I scan it ? JPEG, TIFF, or PDF
i can't highlight it and thus finish scanning. The worst part is that i've tried all the buttons and screen size changes but nothing works except terminating the whole photoshop proccess and starting all over again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI reduced the size of a couple of pictures in Photoshop, but the dpi also reduced based on the size. I have saved the picture with this resolution. Now the problem is that when i am trying to get this printed, the website asks that the picture be atleast 300dpi to get quality pictures. I cannot not reduce the size of the images, as these pictures need to be embedded in a word file.
My question is - if i increase the dpi for the existing saved pictures will it help or should i go about reducing the size of the original picture and also maintain the dpi right from scratch.
Need to know if there is software available which can increase the pixels for photos already loaded onto the iMac and deleted from the camera.

I know it's unlikely that there's something to convert the image to positive etc but I'd rather spend time doing that than use the bundled software with the scanner (SilverFast). However, currently Get From Scanner gives me "Film Scanner" which either previews and scans black negs or doesn't work at all without Silverfast installed. Seems the only way to set it up as a TWAIN scanner (yep, got TWAIN plug-in) is to use a seperate piece of software like silverfast which is then launched to get the scan. Got correct and up-to-date drivers properly installed.

Since I need it for print, I increased it to 300dpi and it looks really jagged and blurred. I tried to search for a vector version, but couldn't find it. This is how it looks:

I'm using PSE10 on a Win7 (64bit) OS. When I delete a picture (from catalogue and harddrive) the PSE-Organizer tends to jump down several pictures (Haven't been able to determine a fixed number), so I have to go up again and browse through the same pics a couple of times.
