How to enhance the picture resolution and color the picture in Gold.
Dwarfs_Stone_and_Steel.bmp
I have a color picture which I took, of a red berry bush. I want to remove all the color except for the red from the berries. I know how to lasso the berries, but I can't remove the color from the bush/background and leave the red berries.
Note: I did this once a couple years ago, and can't remember how I did it..I have some memories, but probably remember just enough to make me dangerous. I have done some searches but obviously the results are numeorus and I haven't found what I am looking for yet.
I know the solution involves selecting the berries and then inversing it and then setting all 3 colors to 0 for the background.
What I can do is
1) lasso the berries
2) inverse
what I can't figure out
1) it seems like there was 1 step about layering which enabled me to get started, but I don't remember this, it does seem like I am missing something very basic when I try to do this
3) Where is the color scale, the only thing I can find is the grayscale option which switches the entire project to black and white.
How do I transfer my project to my pictures on my computer

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am a glass artist and I have some projects that revolve around being able to turn a photo into black and white. I notice that when it is in black and white it is actually in about 10 shades of gray as well. I need it to be only in black and white. It would also be nice to know how to turn a colored photo into maybe four or five different colors and still have it look somewhat normal.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am working on a project that has 10,000 glass pieces in it, but it revolves around knowing how to do these things.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a picture that I would like to make black and white but with some colour. From what I can gather, I've to make the picture black and white and then add the colour to the bits I need after, however, the bit I want to remain in colour is a flower and the way the light hits it, the red is in different shades, making it impossible for me to colour it back exactly how it is.
Is there a simpler way...like select the parts I want to go black and white?
would like to use it to start making my pics stand out more. My first experiment is to make a colour pic into black and white, THEN bring back the original colours in certain parts of the pic. ie i have a pic of an old steam train, and i want to leave the surroundings in colour, but turn the steam train in the picture to black and white. I have been advised on less photoshop specific forums, to turn the whole pic to B&W, then use the history brush to bring back the colour to the parts of the pic i want to be in colour.

It's creative commons, so I guess I can post screen shots...
The cat is from [URL]...
A general idea of the selected area
What happens when I take out the selected area
So how can I take the pieces of the cat out of the selected area so when I try to delete the background I don't get an invisible cat?
Creating a collage. Just placed a new object with a layer mask. Now I need to create a hue/saturation, levels adjustment layer and color balance adjustment layer all with masks. Ok, no problem, but when I do this, my original picture turns black and white.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just want to cut out/lasso an item in a pic and not have a black or white background..just the item itself..
I have *picked a photo
*click layer
*chose transparency
*added alpha channel*
*cut/lasso item out
*selected invert
*pressed delete on keyboard
*pressed select and none
I then get this picture which looks perfect right???
But when I copy and paste it or open file in paint or anywhere else it ends up like this? I want just the cut out and not the background too but no matter what I do the stupid thing comes with..
I have a pretty standard workflow for my pictures, where i import as dng, adjust exposure and a few general parameters, and then convert them to black and white in Silver FX. But, there's one specific image that, when exported, looks warmer in the browser than in lightroom. I have investigated a bit on this, and here's what i've tested so far, without luck:
- Set color profile to v2 in colormunki.
- Recalibrate monitor and refresh color profile (colormunki).
- Set firefox gfx.colormanagement.mode to 1.
- Set color mode to black and white in LR. Re processed the image from scratch. Re exported.
This is the exported image:

there's a distinct warmish cast to the first image that i don't see on LR, and that i can't quite get rid of.
I am very new to photography and Lightroom 3.4 64 bit. I have a photo of an apple on the table. I want to get the photo black and white (did that already). Now I want the apple it self to remain its own red color. How do I do that?
Also, I have this apple and its reflection is on the knife that is cutting the apple. How can I get that in color too?
I tried to set a color photo over top of a black and white one to airbrush away enough to expose the backround (the grayscale pic) but when I tried to copy onto the first layer, it turned my color photo to grayscale. I tried this with the gray pic locked and unlocked. What did I do wrong, or can this even be done?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe question that i have is, how do you do the effect, or is it even an affect where the whole pic is black and white but there is 1 color that is not. like from the attached pic you can see that the red is showing. you can see some on my skin and some on that red tape thing in the background.
View 3 Replies View Relatedtry and open the hue and saturation, it wont allow me to.
When i import the image, it will show up in color, just how it was, but I cant mess with hue or saturation.
if i select a color to draw with, it will show up a shade of grey, white or black.
I may have accidently clicked something to cause this, but im not sure how to fix it
