Photoshop Elements :: Scanning Negatives With OpticFilm 7600i Negative Scanner

I'm looking for a way to scan directly into PSE 10 with my negative scanner. Maybe a plug-in? I know it's unlikely that there's something to convert the image to positive etc but I'd rather spend time doing that than use the bundled software with the scanner (SilverFast). However, currently Get From Scanner gives me "Film Scanner" which either previews and scans black negs or doesn't work at all without Silverfast installed. Seems the only way to set it up as a TWAIN scanner (yep, got TWAIN plug-in) is to use a seperate piece of software like silverfast which is then launched to get the scan. Got correct and up-to-date drivers properly installed.
I have some old photos that I intend to scan into LR4 using a CanoScan 9000E - I also have the negatives.Is there any advantage to scanning from the negatives v the photos? Does scanning the negs give me more control over any post work I do in LR4
I can't seem to get my scanner to stop scanning documents in PS Pro...I have a letter I wanted to scan and email but it gets attached to the email as a Jpeg and opens only with PS. Not good for the reciever. How do I set up PS so it is not the default for scanned items?
I tried following Scott Kelby's instructions for color correcting digital images in PSE 10. I was entering the values he gave for the R,G and Blue channels. I got off track and probably missed a step. Anyway, now when I try any of the auto correction features, my images look like film negatives and not like a regular digital image. How can I re-enable the auto correction features (levels, color correction, etc.) ?
How can I scan multiple photos on my HP Photosmart 7520 scanner into Photoshop Elements 11 without scanning them one by one. I want to place multiple photos on the scanner and have the software select the multiple images and place them in separate files for processing.
I tried to use a scanned picture in photoshop and is said the file was too large I scanned the photo at 4800 dpi. Thats too large. What the highest resolution is, that can be used in Photoshop?
What is the prosedure to import img from scanner to photoshop elements? I'm used to PH CS, and there i have a choise to import scanner, but that is not present in PH elements?
How do i create an image in PSE11 to look like a negative strip? I have been able to do this in the past in older PSE but i cannot find the option in this version.
I have recently installed Photoshop CS6. I already had Photoshop Elements 8 on my PC. Before installing CS6, I could quite happily scan photos etc via my scanner, from within Elements 8, but now when I go 'File > Get Photos and Videos > From Scanner' within Elements 8 (with Photoshop CS6 not open at the time, incidentally), I get a message saying 'Software for this device could not be launched. The device is not connected or is busy'. I would like to be able to scan from either Photoshop applications.
I've just upgraded from Elements 4 to 11 using Mac OS 10.6 Previously, when I wanted to import an image from my Canon 8600F Scanner I went to File,Import,Canoscan 8600 and the Twain driver window appeared. No problem.Now with 11 this doesn't happen. It doesn't happen with either Editor or Organizer. A search on these pages shows a similar problem with Elements 10. I've carried out this procedure but it doesn't work. Why not? What is the point of this programme if it won't import from a scanner or am I missing something?
I used PSE11 before and i use a scanner (canon 4200F) to import some old pictures and other documents. Now i have installed PSE12, but i was surprised that my scanner is not detected, so i cannot import anymore with my scanner.
