Photoshop Elements :: How To Perfectly Align Stacked Layers
Nov 11, 2011If I drag-and-drop one layer on top of another, how can I make sure they are perfectly aligned? Do I need to use the "shift" key while dragging and dropping?

View 4 Repliesi'm trying to align text perfectly into a rectangle (vertically). I know about the text box, but it either ads hyphens or there is a mialigned spacing on the right side.Â
Â
I want it to be perfectly aligned on the left and right. I've attached an example from a site i found online, but its somewhat a poor execution, the word spacing varies through out the paragraph.
Â
Is it possible to do this without varrying the spacing between words?
I want to have those colored lines perfectly aligned and spaced with the same width between them all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've taken a photo of a display frame, and I need to align it perfectly horizontal in order to not crop off parts of the frame when editing out the background. I know how to move images back and forth with the crop tool, but it's not very precise, and I definitely don't want the frame in the image partly chopped off because I can't get it angled just right.

I have just upgraded to Elements 12 from version 6 and find that if I select a file in the organizer, select "Edit with Photoshop Elements editor", carry out the editing and save the file with the boxes for "include in elements organizer" and "Save in Version Set with original" checked the edited photo is not automatically included in the organizer nor stacked. On returning to the Organizer it tells me that a new photo has been found in the watched folders and I have to import it and stack it manually.

Now the problem is, that these two photos do not equal 100% in their angle and therefore perspective. I wanted to know if there is a way to let photoshop put them on top of each other like it would do when creating a HDR, just without actually creating the HDR but do the "deghosting" and ideally also a geometric correction?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded a 30 day trial of Photoshop CS3 Extended. I use Windows XP. In the demo on the adobe.com site, there appears to be a feature where you can align 2 images such as a group shot, where you want to take a face from one image and put it in the other image. Can you please tell me how this is done?

I'm practicing on photoshop cs5 and I'm working on picture and trying to change things in it but when it came to select auto-align layers from the edit menu it's not lighting to select it i, i can see it but can't select it.Â
View 4 Replies View Relatedupgrading to Photoshop CS3 (previously used CS1). There are a lot quirks between the two but the one that is absolutely infuriating me is something that was once so very very simple and that is aligning one layer object to another.
All I am looking to do is left align layer 2 with layer 1, but it just won't let me do it? It is almost like when I do it they meet halfway? I'm not talking about anything with opaque edges or anything, simple strokes and boxes. It just doesnt want to happen.
Sometimes I will put a few layers in a folder and align it against another folder and the same thing happens...there isn't any precision what-so-ever? It is also hard to figure out which layer I need to click to align another to...or so it seems it has just thrown me for a loop that I don;t know anymore!
What is worse is with a very large document, even if I manually nudge a group of layers (using the arrow keys or dragging with the mouse) I get the spinning beachball of death and once returning things to normal...nothing has moved?
I mean it makes me feel like a complete Newbie...is there a setting somewhere that is causing this erratic behaviour?
I just tried to use this great new CS3 feature for first time but it's grayed out.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing "Align Layers..." is a function I use daily. Many, many times. Yesterday, using this normal function began locking up my Photoshop session. I have 1.5GB+ of scratch disk available. I'm using the same procedures I've always used. I've reinstalled Photoshop CS6. I'm into work around mode, since I have lots of work to do, but I'd love to get this process back on track so I can get back to a normal workflow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I mean is that say you have layers I and I that are positioned next to each other so they look like "II". You want to center them in relation to some selected space so that they still look like "II" and not "I".
Â
Do you see what I'm saying?
Â
Is there a way to center them so that they're still in the same configuration relative to each other instead of centering them so that they both get layered on top of each other in the centering? Maybe by linking them or some other way?
I need a complete work-up on using align and distribute in Elements 11.
View 2 Replies View Relatedcan "Auto Align Selected Layers Based on Contents" be disabled during photomerge?
=> First, most of times the auto align result is not good
=> it takes time to wait for window to appear, sometimes hangs
=> When all images are jumbled together, it is like making jigsaw puzzle.
Â
Actually I got used to Photoshop CS2 where I disable auto align check box...And I manually create the "mosaic" (not just a flat panorama) from images taken from microscope.

Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
Â
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
Â
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.

I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
Is there a way that i can be sure an element on my screen is perfectly centered horizontally and vertically?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with 16bit (Tiff) greyscale Heightmaps, images that displace geometry to create terrains. When I want to adjust the images I do it in one of several applications that return the Heightmaps with an altogether different range of levels (value of blacks and whites). However I have no way of matching the levels of the updated image to the original except to eyeball it using Levels. This is time consuming and hard to get right.
I tried changing the images to RGB and color matching them, which is kind of what I want to do, but it leaves me with stepping (similar to an 8bit image) because the range it is trying to match is so subtle I think. how to better use Levels to perfectly match (greyscale) images?
I just completed a procedure to merge five images, taken with manual focus at evenly spaced distance intervals, to increase depth of field (DOF). There are two issues1. Procedure appears to create halos around items of contrasting colors, amounting to about 50 px in thickness. See Halos.jpg, attached.2. The image is of a daylily having abundant texture on its petals. Near the border of the composite, running parallel to the border, are ~200-px bands of pure color, i.e., washed-out areas, containing pure, featureless color, where there should be texture. Please see defocusbands01.jpg and defocusbands02.jpg, attached Further details: Photos were made with Leica DMR 10 Mpx sensor. Merged image is 3939 x 2627 px. in size. Extended DOF procedure was as follows: Â
a. Open 5 raw (DNG) images in ACR | open images (in Photoshop editor);Â
b. File | Scripts | Load files into stack | Attempt to Automatically Align Source Images;Â
c. Layers | Select all;Â
d. Edit | Auto-blend Layers | Stack Images | Seamless tones and Colors;Â
e. Flatten and save output file as PSD.
I have an exactly symmetrical geometric bitmap photoshop image (exactly symmetrical down to the pixel)Â which I need to convert into vector. When I import the image into illustrator and use the trace tool it does not trace both sides of the image exactly symmetrical..
Â
Notice the trace line does not symmetrically match the bitmap.I have tried all the trace types such as 'high fidelity photo' yet it still does not trace exactly on both sides of the symmetrical image.
Â
Is there any way to get the trace perfectly symmetrical?
I like to print 12 x 18 on 13 x 19 but a3 13 x 19 allows only 12.95 width. If I select my custom template 13 x 19 with .5 border it tells me i must use front loading, occasionally it has let me but most of the time i must print 11.95 x 18 making photos a little off center?
I am unable to perfectly center because print driver on canon pixma pro mk2 gives only a3 13 x 19 with a border, yet it takes 13 x 19 with driver setting.
