I have never been able to make a perfect circle (eclipse). They always come out lop sided even a little bit in my best try.
I know there has to be a way to do this. I don't even pretend to know what the Radius X & Y and Center X & Y are for.

I create a helix, two turns, base diameter = top diameter = 3, helix height (each turn) = 2.
Why when I look it from the top view, its shape is not a perfect circle?
Should it be a perfect circle when it looks from the top view, isn't it?
How to make it perfect circle when it looks from the top view?

I like to print 12 x 18 on 13 x 19 but a3 13 x 19 allows only 12.95 width. If I select my custom template 13 x 19 with .5 border it tells me i must use front loading, occasionally it has let me but most of the time i must print 11.95 x 18 making photos a little off center?
I am unable to perfectly center because print driver on canon pixma pro mk2 gives only a3 13 x 19 with a border, yet it takes 13 x 19 with driver setting.

I have a square that I want to make into a circle, without distorting it. I want to create a circle using it as a stroke... I"m using CS2, can anyone help
I used the transform and the warp tool and got it into a circle, but there were points where it was pinched and it looked stupid.
I thought maybe there was a way to make a circle and use that "pattern" as a stroke for it, but so far I can't figure it out.
i tried making it a brush and needless to say...
We use that square to put around all of our letterhead and official station documents. I've created a CD-Rom media kit of our stuff and want to put it around the edge of the cd label, but unfortunately for me, cd's are round which is not condusive to the template I have....

i'm trying to align text perfectly into a rectangle (vertically). I know about the text box, but it either ads hyphens or there is a mialigned spacing on the right side.
I want it to be perfectly aligned on the left and right. I've attached an example from a site i found online, but its somewhat a poor execution, the word spacing varies through out the paragraph.
Is it possible to do this without varrying the spacing between words?

I'm using pse 11 right now. I've got a decent handle on text on shape tool. But I can't figure out how to get text inside a circle. (as opposed to around the outside) I've seen a couple tutorials that reference a little black arrow to move selections (I think within the Text tool menu) , and change orientation of text. I can't see this anywhere. I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I can't figure this one out.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64-bit). I'm trying form a text box where the words form a perfect square (allowing for different words to be different sizes). How would I do this? It's a concept that is a little hard to explain.

I am trying to make an oblong shape, then a work path and then stroke.
I select the elliptical marquee tool, hold down shift and form the circle, seems easy ..... i go to the paths tab, make work path and the stroke path and you would think it should be a perfect circle. Its not !!
Its as if the circle is hand-drawn in three places, really strange, it just veers in and back out again from the line it should be taking .... it is realy strange.
I closed PS down and double clicked the icon and held down shift, CTRL and ALt and choose to remove the history, and tried this again ... but still the same?

Is there a way to draw a perfectly vertical or horizontal line in Xara (Designer Pro 6) without manually lining it up with the grid? Sometimes I just need an instant horizontal or vertical line and I find I have to turn on the grid, zoom right in and meticulously place the pen tool so that the line is a perfect vertical (90 degrees) or horizontal (180 degrees) without slant or lean. Surely theres a quicker and more reliable method?

I really enjoy this new draw inside feature in Illustrator. But, I find that it does not always work. It seems to be grayed out sometimes. For example, I have drawn a shape with my Wacom tablet using a blush. I then converted it to a shape instead of keeping it a stroke by expanding it. But it will not allow me to now draw inside of it, even though it is a shape.

how to create a perfect circle, but how do I create that circle perfectly around a certain point or around the center of my square image (whose coordinates should be 50% of width/50% of height of my square image).
My second question is rather stupid.. Since this program was created to be a substitute for MS Paint and also has .net in the name... but will there ever be a linux version? I firmly believe that PDN would be more than capable competition to gimp.

want to cut out a perfect circle in photopaint. it is a picture with a perfectly circular object so I want to overlay the circle tool and cut out the circle and save the circle on a page with the gray and white square background. I cannot get the circle positioned or sized properly because once the cursor is let go you are stuck with what you have. I typed in "circle" in the help and nothing even comes up for circles.
I can make a perfect circle and position it in draw but that is not useful.

Is this possible? Basically, I have a few hundred photos (in RAW format) that I wish to mask then cut/paste on top on another layer in Draw; however, they are all circular and all would be the same size give or take a few hundreds of an inch. This is not a very easy thing to do by eye with the circle mask tool in PhotoPaint.
Perhaps there is another way to do without, masking from PhotoPaint, but I can't think of it.

I'm making a logo for someone by hand-drawing a font I made up. But because I was having trouble drawing a perfect letter 'O', I'm using the "Circle/Ellipse" tool to do it. I drew an 'O' with that tool that's almost the right size... and I wanna draw another one just a little shorter... but I can't figure out how to place the completed new shape directly over the old one.
I don't know where to start the action with the tool! The completed shape always ends up in the wrong place. How to get my finished shape to complete just where I want it to? (Re-sizing the shape won't work because that changes the thickness of the line I used for the letter 'O'.)

For a web page, website, whatever you want to call it, this is what I'm trying to figure out. I want to be able to make a shape of anything, like a square, and inside that square add a picture of something. I want to be able to move that picture anywhere inside that square, without it coming outside, showing only a portion of the picture.

I have a flat drawing of the earth on its own layer and, through shading, would like to make it look rounded. Painting over it with the brush tool at a low opacity might be one way to do it, but is there an easier way?
Filter > Distort > Diffuse Glow came close to the effect I want, but Spherize was off the mark. Anything else I can try?

I just installed cdr x5 on a tablet pc (asus slate B121) and I like it very much. But I begin to get frustrated by the Poliline tool.
Since this tool needs you to double click to end a curve I always get curves with added nodes to the ends (it's impossible to do a double-click with a pen without moving the pen between the two clicks.
The only workaround that I found is to move away the pen from the screen far enough so that you can press the space bar to end the curve without extra nodes. But this is really extra gymnastic for your arm... and quite annoying while you try to get the job done in few minutes.
So, is there a way to use the poliline tool without "putting down" the "unclicked" node while pressing the spacebar? Something similar to the freehand tool, but with the ability to draw curve-straight lines consecutively.

How I can cut a circle from a square image so that the circle is cut from the exact middle of the square? I use the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M) and drag outwards from the approximate middle of the square (Holding Shift and ALT) but after doing so the transform buttons are greyed out.
So then, how can I position the "circle selection" to the exact center of the square? A few pixels out in any direction will not suffice. I'm using CS6.

Ok so I work a lot with doing pixel art and ever since I updated Photoshop I'm having the issue when zoomed in to look at pixels quite large and I'm using the pencil tool at size 1 for a square pixel and I go to draw it doesn't place the pixel inside of the square, it puts it up and to the left of my cursor which is very odd and very annoying to try and work with.
