What version on Elements do I need to be able to align layers or do I need to buy Photoshop? I am doing HDR and need to be sure that 5-7 layers match up before using any masking through.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have lost the ability to see my layers. I created an image and when I open it, I can see by the text displayed at the top of the image that it has five layers. However, when I click "Open the Layers Dialog", the five layers don't show. Perhaps I've locked it somehow? It was saved as a .xcf. Am very new to GIMP.

It's a real pain when you use guides on the internet and they are in for example English and you use a Swedish version of PE11. I have found some English to Swedish translations but only parts of the menu options are covered and mostly for older versions of PE meaning many options are missing in the translations.
I am having trouble with PS aligning layers in a PSD file. Clicking any of the alignment buttons does nothing. I had this problem with another cheaper image software that ended up being an issue with memory. I had to keep rebooting. But rebooting does nothing this time.
The computer I am using has 4gb of memory.
I have two photos that were taken at two different times during the day. Now the problem is, that these two photos do not equal 100% in their angle and therefore perspective. I wanted to know if there is a way to let photoshop put them on top of each other like it would do when creating a HDR, just without actually creating the HDR but do the "deghosting" and ideally also a geometric correction?

In the demo on the adobe.com site, there appears to be a feature where you can align 2 images such as a group shot, where you want to take a face from one image and put it in the other image. View 4 Replies View Relatedupgrading to Photoshop CS3 (previously used CS1). There are a lot quirks between the two but the one that is absolutely infuriating me is something that was once so very very simple and that is aligning one layer object to another.
All I am looking to do is left align layer 2 with layer 1, but it just won't let me do it? It is almost like when I do it they meet halfway? I'm not talking about anything with opaque edges or anything, simple strokes and boxes. It just doesnt want to happen.
Sometimes I will put a few layers in a folder and align it against another folder and the same thing happens...there isn't any precision what-so-ever? It is also hard to figure out which layer I need to click to align another to...or so it seems it has just thrown me for a loop that I don;t know anymore!
What is worse is with a very large document, even if I manually nudge a group of layers (using the arrow keys or dragging with the mouse) I get the spinning beachball of death and once returning things to normal...nothing has moved?
I mean it makes me feel like a complete Newbie...is there a setting somewhere that is causing this erratic behaviour?
I just tried to use this great new CS3 feature for first time but it's grayed out.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing "Align Layers..." is a function I use daily. Many, many times. Yesterday, using this normal function began locking up my Photoshop session. I have 1.5GB+ of scratch disk available. I'm using the same procedures I've always used. I've reinstalled Photoshop CS6. I'm into work around mode, since I have lots of work to do, but I'd love to get this process back on track so I can get back to a normal workflow.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I mean is that say you have layers I and I that are positioned next to each other so they look like "II". You want to center them in relation to some selected space so that they still look like "II" and not "I".
Do you see what I'm saying?
Is there a way to center them so that they're still in the same configuration relative to each other instead of centering them so that they both get layered on top of each other in the centering? Maybe by linking them or some other way?

=> First, most of times the auto align result is not good
=> it takes time to wait for window to appear, sometimes hangs
=> When all images are jumbled together, it is like making jigsaw puzzle.
Actually I got used to Photoshop CS2 where I disable auto align check box...And I manually create the "mosaic" (not just a flat panorama) from images taken from microscope.
Layer doesn't align vertically with background.

Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.
I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
why don't I see all the layers in the Layers palette

I can't use clipping mask. I am wondering, is this feature disabled because it's a free trial? Do I need to have my photos arranged differently in order for the layer column to be active and usable? Is this a feature that elements does not have?

I have over 100 images that I have to repeat the same process to, and yes I know actions, but I need to go into each individual layer and adjust accordingly and would save me less time then to open each file and repeat. a crop for example would take 1 minute with multiple layers, a crop in a batch might take 5 min especially if there are a few hundred. then after that I can just choose a script and export layer to files. View 1 Replies View RelatedMaybe it's because I have a mind-dulling headache today, but I'm just not seeing the way to either create an inverted vector mask or invert an existing one.
For example, in the following layer stack, I'd like the vector mask on the group to create a transparent hole in the image, rather than make the outer part of the image transparent. Note that the [Invert] button in the Properties panel is unavailable (grayed-out).
If I could have created the vector mask in the first place using the rectangle tool, but inverted, that would have been okay as well, but somehow the sequence to do that escaped me as well. I know how to do this with a selection, but I'd rather keep it in vector land.
