Photoshop Elements :: How To Format A Full Frame 16x20 Print To Minimize Edge Loss At Printer
Feb 6, 2014
Wondering how to best format prints for printer to avoid visible edge loss in printing. I have color borders on the photos, H & V.Do I subtract a 1/4th inch from each side while formatting? Order with "border" and cut the border?
Prints will be mounted on standzard 16 x20 backboard.
I've been trying to print full bleed images to 3880 epson printer from LR 4.1 and for some reason won't let me make 8.5 x11 borderless prints to printer. both the left and right side of image has white borders and top and bottom has none.
both page grids sides go as low as 1 and cell size reads properly of 11.00in x 8.50in. but when you look at image in print mode in LR- it shows white borders on both sides of picture.
been on phone for 3 hrs with adobe and 30 min with epson tech to no avail?
My company will be getting a new large format printer to replace the current one we have. We don't have room enough to have both running at the same time so I'm imagining one-day down then viola, we have a new printer.
How I can prepare for this as far as creating the necessary Plot Styles, pc3, pmp...files? Because i have many items on my to-do list, this could take a day or two with all the testing and i can't image the uproar from our CADers about going without a plotter for two or three days.
I have to set up my drawing on the model page so that I can save it as a PDF and then transfer it into adobe illustrator. My scale is 1:1, and when I put it on the model page I'm doing a 1/8" : 1' scale. It should fit on the page no problem, its only a 9" model plan on 1/4 scale, so it should be 4.5" on the page. However, it's too big for the page.
Edge Animate project produces 4 default framework files right now: Edge API, jQuery, jQuery Easing and JSON. Gzipping them we got 60KB of pure JS compressed and minified code. After that we have actual project files which can be compressed into around 20KB but this really depends on a project. So finally we have around 80KB of JS code without images, styles yet. This is acceptable for broadband connections but looks a bit too large for mobile devices.
Is there any way to minimize dependencies on jQuery so that framework will be at least 30KB? Smaller is better in this case.
I'm evaluating Hype by Tumult at the same time and framework JS produced is 16KB compressed and minified. It's 4 times smaller (60KB of Edge Animate). It doesn't contain IE-compatibility though but I don't seriously care about IE 6-9 as mobile is primary target for me so Webkit.
I am using Primo PDF virtual printer to convert Excel document into PDF format. However, every time I attempt to do this, PS Elements 10 opens and imports the document. How can I turn this off?
When I start up PSE11 and go to print I set up the paper size then select a Printer Profile. When print the image it is a mess and seem to be black and white it is as if I printed on the wrong side of the paper.
I then go and try to print it again. Now it all works as it should beutiful colours and spot on. all other print following this works.
Then I shut down PSE11. Start it up again. Guess what first print is a mess again. all others after are fine.
I uninstalled PSE11, deleted prefs. and reinstalled PSE11. Same thing.. first print a mess all others ok.
I have stiched together six photos to make a panorama photo. When I go to print that combination photo only one of the six photo shows up in the Print window. Only one photo is printed, not the panorama one. I tried using the Finder > Print box and the copy of the panorama photo I had in a folder on the my desktop. That worked. I want to use photo paper for the print and make some adjustments, that doesn't work from the Finder > Print selection. The original panorama photo was a TIFF file and ended up to be 155MB, but I made a copy in JPEG and that file was 13.2MB.
After uninstalling and reinstalling my printer driver I am no longer able to print a document I used to be able to print on the same printer.
Now I get "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing."
I have confirmed the my settings are correct and I am able to print to the printer using other applications.
I'm using pse10 on a computer with an i7 processor with 12GB of ram and windows 7 with a color laser printer. The print function works fine while in organizer and sharing mode, but not from full edit. When I try to print from full edit, I get an error message with a red "X" on it that says: "Before you can perform printer related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." I can't figure it out. The printer is in "ready" state, and works fine in the organizer mode, and in share.
I'm using PSE 10 with Windows 7, and I'd like to change the formatting of the captions on the photos I've got in slide shows, and those I'd like to print, i.e., change fonts, size, centered, etc. I've checked various manuals, online sources, and haven't found info on this.
I just bought Canon LEGRIA HF G25 and this camera stores videos in mts format. I open mts files in Premiere Pro CC but when I try to play it in the preview as it does not look good. Therefore I am wondering if there is an easy way to convert mts files to MP4 format without quality loss?
I can't figure out how to adjust the size of the program screen when in Full Edit Mode. I can see portions of the Quick Fix menu and none of the Guided Fix menu. There seems to be no way to resize the window.
I am using Photoshop Elements 6.0. I've shot an image which is horizontal, and am an trying to get the image to be full frame (square). I need to have the entire image shown so I know this needs to have a border on the top and bottom of the image. My image background is black so the border needs to be black to blend in; similar to a letter box format on a Cinemascope ratio move. how I can get this border so that I can make a rectangular image look square?
I'm trying to export an animated gif with 52 frames - I'm using the timeline in CS6, it's exported correctly in the past but when I try and save for web only a seemingly arbitrary number of rames appear in the animation. With no clear route to rectify this, I've tried to affect the outcome by simply moving things around on the timeline.
I've had a variety of frame ranges (and frames) numbering between 2 and 6 frames, far off my 52 target. It's a simple image and equally simple transition to keep filesize down
Was printing 4x6" from LR 5.3 fine. To an Epson 3880. Then went to Page Settings (MAC) changed paper size to 8.5x11". The preview responded with a larger page. I scaled the image up to 8x10 via lightroom cell size. But when I printed to the Letter size paper, LR printed only a close to 4x6" top left corner. This was not a full image like the 4x6. It was just a corner.
Exported to PS and printed fine. Can not figure why the print will not print the full image?
I have just started to use a Canon 5DMkIII and have used the camera crop feature set to 4:5 thinking that this is just for viewing purposes during composition of the image in the camera. When I came to import my RAW files into LR4, I realise that the images are already cropped and all I can see is the image between the guide lines in the camera. The camera, however still shows the whole image and so I assume that all the data was captured.
When printing in 3d with the vp set to 3dhidden and the shade plot set to hidden legacy some solid items print with the wire frame. This usualy happens with torus and cones. How do I stop this?
I am working in a custom project. 30fps (progressive). My quicktimes begin at frame 0. When I look at the files in quicktime, the frames are there. When I import the files into premiere CC. the first 2 frames are not viewable and my imported clip begins at frame 2. Is this a settings thing?
I am trying to add a frame to some pictures, but when trying to apply a frame from the content section, the frame goes on top of any picture...and not directly on to the picture.
I am designing a business card that has lime green as a main color, and I am finding it impossible to find a commercial printer that will print in RGB! I completely understand the difference between the 2 color pallets I just don't understand why I can not find one printer that will print RGB! So does that mean any business card I ever do can never have bright colors?
Just bought a new iMac with OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Installed my HP PhotoSmart C4180 printer and its drivers, it prints fine from Adobe Acrobat and scans just fine. I went to print from Photoshop CS5, and once I decided my settings and hit "Print" the program crashed and has done so consistently. I've provided the crash report below.
I'm looking for a way to print CDs (to Canon ip8500 and ip4300 printers) directly from Photoshop. I'm on x64 where Canon's CD Lable-print won't run, besides which I'd much prefer to print from Photoshop anyway. Is there a plug-in, a work round, a clever trick?
