I'm a new user to PE. How do I export photos for printing by others than that listed in PE? I don't want to use Photoworld - limited print size options, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently set up Elements 12. Prior to this I used elements 11. In that catalog I have more photos that I don't want. So I decided to export the ones I want then import into PSE 12. As I do this many of the dates on the pictures change from the date taken to the current date. I have tried several different ways and can't stop the dates changing. I am putting them into mobile albums in PSE 12 if that makes a difference.

Therefore I need to know about resizing , however, I have spent weeks , reading and watching videos about this , and they all speak the same editing language without being specifically about what is needed, I mean the rules to follow etc and process that is involved.
For example,of this, resolution and pixel ,dots per inch,they all mention of the name of them, and mention "put photos in a number of of 200 ppi," without given any detailed explanation about why this is so!, when there are so many other numbers from the same category. In order to resize a photo there is needs to be more specific information that is needed about it when photo editing is involved, 'custom' resize photos.
I am changing the size of a bunch of photos from 72 ppi to 300 ppi (for printing in a book). When I change the resolution to 300 ppi, the width and height and file size shoot up of course. I want to keep the high quality - but should I untick the resampling box, or do it with the resampling box ticked - then reduce the size?

Before I throw out my Epson Pro Stylus 3800 and PS4 software I thought I would ask one more time. I calibrate my monitor, I have taken photoshop classes, been on webinars for calibrating my monitor, etc. And no matter what I do, my photos print several shades darker than what I see on my monitor. I use no color adjustment in my ps print settings as well as my printer settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have CS5. The photos coming out of the camera are 300 dpi and approx 12.8" x 19.2". When I crop the photo to 300 dpi and 8x10 and send it to print, the printer says the photo is too small. It comes across as 72 dip and 8.333" x 6.667". I was expecting photos to come out of the camera with 72 dpi and a huge length x width. I can then crop and print without issue. Is there a photoshop setting that needs to be set? Is there a different work flow I need to use? I shoot with a 5D Mark III.

if i try to print from the edited photograph without moving it onto a new document it doesnt fit onto an A4 paper and comes up with 'Specifit print settings (Interpolation, Calibration,Encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non post-script printer.

"Add people" feature has never worked in Elements 11. How do I fix this? It recognizes faces in individual photos, but not in groups of photos.

New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

However, when I try to do it, the cursor/icon I am dragging turns into a gray circle with a gray diagonal when it reaches the Media Browser pane in the Organizer and the folder/photo is not imported into the Organizer when I "drop." When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
I shoot with a Nikon D70s, just started. I burned a CD and went to my local store to get them printed on 4x6 format. I put my CD in the computer and on the screen it shows that all my photos will be sliced from top and bottom.
The clerk said it was because of the format of digital cameras. My question is, is there a way to fix that with photoshop so I don't loose part of the top and bottom of my pics? Do you guys have the same trouble with your digital images?
I have a font on my system (Geometr231 BT if it matters). It's a TrueType font. It shows up in all of my other programs on their font lists, but NOT IN PHOTOSHOP 5.5.
Many TTFonts are unfortunately country-coded incorrectly due to a bug in a font creation application that quite a few foundries were using.
The fonts are listed alphabetically by country code, starting with
Western European.
If you open your adobefnt.lst file in a text editor, you will probably
find those fonts that are giving you problems have one of the
following entries:
WritingScript:Greek
WritingScript:Cyrillic
WritingScript:EastEuropeanRoman
when they should have
WritingScript:Roman
Changing the entry to WritingScript:Roman *may* help - but I would
make a copy of the file first....
If you do change the entries in the Adobefnt.lst, you will need to set it to read only to keep those settings. It will then not reflect any changes you make to your installed fonts.
When I moved from XP to Vista, it seems I've lost many fonts. I have installing them directly into the Common folder with no success.I have less than 500 fonts.

If I try to paste a photo from my own photos file it becomes the back ground by itself. I don't know how to stop this. Using photoshop elements 11.

Also, would I have to re-open it in Illustrator again after I'm done with Photoshop?

I am working on some photos for my mum for mothers day in a couple of weeks and have 2 ideas the first is some photos she took up the Whanganui river I want to edit them all like so ( with different NZ iconic images in each one there will be four in total ) and then print them out and put them in a frame I will be using a shop service for this as I do not have a working printer.and the other idea is the same thing but for her cats like so.
how the NZ ones will look.What I need to know if I print these out at 10'' x 8'' or 6'' x 4'' what size should the originals be ? The native photos are 2048x1536 but normally I have to resize these to 800x600 otherwise my comp goes very slow.
