How can I get photos to print centered on photo paper when using borders? I always end up with a large area on either the right or the bottom, no matter what I do. They print this way even if they show fine in Preview.
View 4 RepliesI have started learning about editing photos , I want to edit photos for printing only. Therefore I need to know about resizing , however, I have spent weeks , reading and watching videos about this , and they all speak the same editing language without being specifically about what is needed, I mean the rules to follow etc and process that is involved.
For example,of this, resolution and pixel ,dots per inch,they all mention of the name of them, and mention "put photos in a number of of 200 ppi," without given any detailed explanation about why this is so!, when there are so many other numbers from the same category. In order to resize a photo there is needs to be more specific information that is needed about it when photo editing is involved, 'custom' resize photos.
I am changing the size of a bunch of photos from 72 ppi to 300 ppi (for printing in a book). When I change the resolution to 300 ppi, the width and height and file size shoot up of course. I want to keep the high quality - but should I untick the resampling box, or do it with the resampling box ticked - then reduce the size?

Before I throw out my Epson Pro Stylus 3800 and PS4 software I thought I would ask one more time. I calibrate my monitor, I have taken photoshop classes, been on webinars for calibrating my monitor, etc. And no matter what I do, my photos print several shades darker than what I see on my monitor. I use no color adjustment in my ps print settings as well as my printer settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have CS5. The photos coming out of the camera are 300 dpi and approx 12.8" x 19.2". When I crop the photo to 300 dpi and 8x10 and send it to print, the printer says the photo is too small. It comes across as 72 dip and 8.333" x 6.667". I was expecting photos to come out of the camera with 72 dpi and a huge length x width. I can then crop and print without issue. Is there a photoshop setting that needs to be set? Is there a different work flow I need to use? I shoot with a 5D Mark III.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having problems moving an edited photograph to a new document for printing. I get a screen stating 'The target document has a different depth than the source document. This may result in lower than expected quality.
if i try to print from the edited photograph without moving it onto a new document it doesnt fit onto an A4 paper and comes up with 'Specifit print settings (Interpolation, Calibration,Encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non post-script printer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI shoot with a Nikon D70s, just started. I burned a CD and went to my local store to get them printed on 4x6 format. I put my CD in the computer and on the screen it shows that all my photos will be sliced from top and bottom.
The clerk said it was because of the format of digital cameras. My question is, is there a way to fix that with photoshop so I don't loose part of the top and bottom of my pics? Do you guys have the same trouble with your digital images?

I am working on some photos for my mum for mothers day in a couple of weeks and have 2 ideas the first is some photos she took up the Whanganui river I want to edit them all like so ( with different NZ iconic images in each one there will be four in total ) and then print them out and put them in a frame I will be using a shop service for this as I do not have a working printer.and the other idea is the same thing but for her cats like so.
how the NZ ones will look.What I need to know if I print these out at 10'' x 8'' or 6'' x 4'' what size should the originals be ? The native photos are 2048x1536 but normally I have to resize these to 800x600 otherwise my comp goes very slow.
I usually process or edit my images for the internet using 72 dpi and using dimensions that fits my liking. I want to process some photos for printing(i.e the paper used for printing family and social photos; I believe you understand what I mean?). please, what dpi or ppi do I use on gimp? Btw,what do photographers call such a paper?

I have my user presets for exporting photos set to W3600 x H2395 when I want to print 12x8, but both 12x8 photos and photobooks come back with the image cropped. Is there a dimension setting I should use to avoid this problem? I have a Nikon D700 if that is relevant.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I've got an image and Im placing text on it, I try to drag it to the middle of my 100X30 Pixel blank image, but photoshop will either allow me to move it side to side, or the top of my text hugs the top of my image, or the bottom of my text has to hug the bottom of the image. I can't just put my text in the center of my 100X30 .
Is there some preset I need to turn off in order to move this text around freely and place wherever. I want to be able to have my text in the center and not have any of it touching any of the sides.
1) I'd like to center certain compotents of my image into sections of the frame. I'm trying to go about this by creating my sections with the slice tool. Then, for any objects within that slice, I select it, but then I'm at a loss. How do I center the objects within my selection, and for that matter, how to I tell it that I want it to be centered in the sliced section only?
2) I'm trying to draw simple lines with the Line Tool, but I get this huge arrow instead of a line. I don't want an arrow, and I only want it to be 1 pixel thick. How can I do this?
I have several menu items I must enter type into.

Previously I had Lr 5 running on my PC with Windows 7 and I was able to use the same HP printer to print both from the main tray and photo tray. I am using the horizontaly text mask tool but I cannot rotate nor center (both horizontally and vertically) my text before turning it into a layer.
If I rotate and center the text after putting it into a new layer it wont work since the text will move and leave the writing embossed onto the picture.
