I recently had to reinstall my OS (Win 7 64 bit) and after doing the same to my photoshop program, I now get a flashing cursor that changes to a waiting circle. Other post talked about DPI and Java, which I have checked and still have the same problem. I've had the program installed on the same computer without this problem, and the setup is the same with the usual update in drivers.
View 17 RepliesMy cursor appears and disappears while in GIMP as I move the cursor over the canvas. I can make the cursor appear but only if there is no movement of the cursor. It makes no difference which tool I select, the size of the canvas, or the level of zoom.
Please note that this only occurs in Gimp, and none of my other applications. It started when I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2. I'm assuming that it has something to do with my input device configuration, but I could be totally wrong.
I have a total of 3 input devices - Core Pointer, Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse, and Virtual Core XTEST Pointer. Both the Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer are DISABLED. Core Pointer is the only one enabled. Enabling Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer give me other problems in Gimp and need to remain disabled.
For the Core Pointer, Mode is set to SCREEN, a message says that 'The axis X has no curve', and the following Axis Settings:

Pressure none
xtilt none
ytilt none
wheel none
In Gimp Preferences->Input Controllers, there are three active controllers - Mouse Buttons, Main Mouse Wheel, and Main Keyboard.

Cursor does not change to a circle when using the eraser.I'm sure it must be a tick box somewhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsually the tool cursor is a circle the size the tool is set to, that is, it will be 60 pixels in diameter when the tool size is set to 60 pixels. Sometimes, the tool cursor changes to a gun sight-like icon. I have no idea what I'm doing to cause that, but I'd like to know in order to 1) stop doing it, and 2) maintain my sanity.

View 9 Replies View RelatedApparently the issue has been happening since as far back as CS2. The flashing text cursor is only visible in the upper left hand portion of the screen. If the text your are attempting to edit is on the far right or bottom of the screen, the cursor vanishes. Some people have suggested zooming in and out, but this only appears to solve the problem because the art board may get nudged into the "good" portion of the screen. I did a screen shot and found that the cursor is only visible in about a 930p x 600p area of the window (not including toolbars). Incindentally, the is the same size that the window defaults to when initially opened. On a HD monitor, this amounts to a very small space.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince a few versions (I have Illustrator CC), my cursor in Illustrator input fields flashes extremely fast when i drag the cursor over such field. This could be a regular text input field or anything similar where you can type in something or adjust a value by clicking and dragging.
What happens is that the cursor changes to the Illustrator cursor and then back to the Windows arrow cursor in an extremely fast manner. It happens so fast, that it completely slows down the mouse interaction and the cursor movement lags behind my interaction.
I have Win 7 x64 with the newest display drivers. This problem occurs only in Illustrator and Flash.
For some reason, every time I draw, I'm not getting accuracy from within that circle, but it's like the paintbrush tip is on the top-left OUTSIDE side of the circle.
Using Photoshop CS6 Extended. Genius tablet.
how to edit it so that you don't have to select a specific brush for sensitivity? ALso, is there any way to make the brush sharper and cleaner? It just looks blurry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not seem to export my timeline. The job goes to the queue, but the status just says waiting. There is a timestamp in the started column, but nothing is happening. I have deleted, re-exported, suspended, restarted, tried different export settings... I tried rendering to both an attached firewire drive and the desktop of my macbookpro. There is no file in either location.
I opened the service monitor and there is a green status light for all components.
I can't export to Quicktime - job permanently stuck waiting, tried the backburner rest suggestions but still no luck.
Frequent crashes as well as features not working - at PR4 I would have thought things would be better than this.
Backburner doesn't seem to work properly for me in the release version. I cannot export file sequences as backburner sticks on waiting. I can however export Quicktimes fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI’m getting a strange cursor when I use the Paint Bucket tool. Instead of the bucket with the pointy bit to show where you’re aiming, I get three tiny paint buckets in a horizontal line, looking a bit like a fragmented ruler, so it is impossible to see where the point of the paint bucket is. I have used CAPS LOCK to get the crosshairs but would refer the normal setting to be available too.
I have shut down the PC and restarted with PS9 as the only app open but I still get this funny cursor. Some of the cursors from other tools are also affected, esp. when I left-click.Have I changed a setting by accident?
My cursor will not show the brush size any longer and making changes to my preferences seems to have no effect.

The problem: Whenever I use any tools involving the usage of the mouse on the canvas, everytime I click to use the tool, sometimes the cursor seems to 'jump' out of position and I end up unintentionally putting paint on the wrong part of the canvas. And before I release the click, I try to move the mouse around in random directions to no avail; the mouse doesn't respond until I release the mouse. In another similar case, sometimes for a split second the cursor seems to move on its own and it leaves behind a random trail of color. Example: Let's say I wrote down my name 'Andrew' on the canvas. I end up something similar to 'Anc e.", along with a black dot/calligraphic stroke or two unintentionally placed when writing down my name. I had to undo and click several times until I properly got the tool working. I'm working on a certain project in PS

I'm trying to prepare a picture to print onto a DVD. Since the picture was for a cruise around Australia I thought it might be an idea to just print in a circle? Perhaps have text arch up at top & down at bottom?
For cropping part of an image, the cursor virtually snaps to positions according to what the programmer sees in the image. Maybe not always, but that is the way it seems to me in many cases. Even when it does not do so, I find it impossible to move the cursor in very tiny increments by using my mouse. If I were to greatly enlarge the image on the screen to get finer control, then only part of the image would fit on the screen. I want a technique for controlling the selection with as much fine precision as is available when resizing, for example. We can specify hundredths of a millimeter when resizing; very finely precise indeed.
Is there a technique that I can use to have very fine and precise control of a crop, preferably by specifying a movement left-right-up-down using decimal fractions of a unit of distance? The same question applies to using the selection tool.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using pse 11 right now. I've got a decent handle on text on shape tool. But I can't figure out how to get text inside a circle. (as opposed to around the outside) I've seen a couple tutorials that reference a little black arrow to move selections (I think within the Text tool menu) , and change orientation of text. I can't see this anywhere. I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I can't figure this one out.
