During an attempt to align a set of three images in a stack, photoshop crashed with the usual (for me) ati.dll indicated in the Event Viewer. The nice thing about it is after I restarted PS the project was restored, minus the base layer, a transparent layer large enough to allow manual alignment. (Auto Align didn't work in Stacks.)
So crashing continues.

I have two photos that were taken at two different times during the day. Now the problem is, that these two photos do not equal 100% in their angle and therefore perspective. I wanted to know if there is a way to let photoshop put them on top of each other like it would do when creating a HDR, just without actually creating the HDR but do the "deghosting" and ideally also a geometric correction?
View 7 Replies View RelatedA long time ago, when I was using Photoshop Elelments I found a plug-in that made it possible to work with stacks as a unit.
If I labeled the top image in the stack that lable was applied to all the images in the stack; then I could sort the the image on top and all the images in the stack would stay together, or if I deleted an image in the stack all the images in the stack were deleted. Without it I have open each stack I lable and apply the lable, so when I sort the stacked images they stay together.
I'm doing macro photopgraphy and need to do a lot of focus stacking. I'm trying to determine the best way to stack images in PS, but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there. I've sucessfully stacked images using two different methods:
Way # 1
file -> scripts -> load files into stack
edit->auto-align layers
edit->auto-blend layers (stack images, seamless tones and colors)
Way # 2
file -> automate -> photomerge (uncheck blend images together)
edit->auto-blend layers (stack images, seamless tones and colors)
The second way produces a much better result, IMHO. Is that the best way to stack images in PS?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running Photoshop CS6 64 bit on a Windows 7 machine with a quad i& Intel processor and 12 GB RAM.Everything ran perfectly until I installed the latest updates. I got a message that the update failed, the code brought me to update my Application Manager, which I did. Now the manager tells me that my Photoshop is up to date. BUT whenever I try to use one of the filters in like the vanishing point, lens correction, liquify, Photoshop stops working and crashes. Also the filter to process images in Camera Raw is not showing (I do not know if this one is included in the update though or is only CC). The rest of the filters like blur, noise etc. work normally.
I figured that my installation somehow became corrupt and try to re-install, but get that message that Photoshop CS6 is already installed.
I used to have CS5 on my computer, after which I used the CS6 trial, and I never had any problems when stacking images using Auto-Blend Layers -> Stack Images. However, I recently purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and after uninstalling the old PS versions and installing Cloud, Photoshop freezes every time I try to stack images.
My computer has very good specs, runs Windows 7, and both the OS and PS are up to date.
I am a Mac user and have a printer that can print pictures 9 by 3 feet big, one sheet at a time. How to stack multiple images together in a 9 by 3 ft frame so that when they print out i can cut them and have a bunch of posters.

Have images in a Smart Collection that is built based on keywords and lack of "rejection". When I highlight a group of images and attempt to Stack, the all of the options are greyed out.

Problem :I have a large number of ex-camera jpegs of the pages of a book,photographed at an archive where scanning is prohibited. A camera stand wasused, with the book supported on foam wedges. Consequently, both pages ineach image are distorted - i.e. each page of a pair is a trapezium.It is, of course, a simple matter to crop and apply the perspective tool(twice) to an image to restore the pages to their flat state. Doing it forseveral hundred images is a non-starter, and anyway that's what the machineis for.
Proposed solution :
Import an image to the Gimp.
Drag and drop a number of images into the same project - as many as themachine can handle.
Link the image layers.
Crop.
Select one page and use the Perspective Tool to pull the page 'square'.Repeat for the second page.
Export each image, working down the stack.
Result :Selecting the right-hand page and correcting the perspective works, in thatthe Gimp progressively works down the layers. But, although each right-handpage is correctly 'squared up', all the left-hand pages, other than the toplayer, are enlarged and cropped.
Software used :2.6 under Debian Squeeze.
2.8.2 under Mint 14.1
2.8.6 under Windows 7
All OS 64-bit.
A long time ago, when I was using Photoshop Elements I found a plug-in that made it possible to work with stacks as a unit.
If I labeled the top image in the stack that label was applied to all the images in the stack; then when I sorted the images, the stack remained in tact; instead of just the top image, with the label showing up. I could also label the top image in a stack with flaga and, for example quickly delete all the image with an "X". Otherwise is seems the only option is to open each stack, by Ctrl-clicking the number in the upper left corner, that opens the stack; with all the images selected, then click the star labels I want to apply to all the images in the stack.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have an SAT file that I inserted into a Conceptual Mass Family and then loaded into a Revit project. I have changed the name of the object in the Object Styles/Imported Objects dialog and assigned a unique material to it as well.
When I load it into the project its generally fine, sections/plans/elevations/section boxes work fine. When I try to update the material settings or the material it retains the original material settings. After the second attempt at assigning a new material: Crash Error Unexpected something or other Shut down.
I opened the original Mass famiily and updated the material shading once and it worked fine. I did it again and: Crash Error Unexpected something or other Shut down.
This is not my first time to use this process. Probably the fiftieth time. However it is the first time I've used it in 2014 with the new(really old) improved (fixed) materials dialog.
Is there a bug or known issue in 14 vs. 13. Am I missing a hotfix? It works on 13.
I have hundreds of photographs to print ranging from 2x3" up to 8x10" and I want to print them all off on a 44" roll and cut them out individually.
All I want to do is point Photoshop to the folder and have it arrange the images in the most efficient configuration for printing automatically, allowing me to set the color management on the document and the dpi of the 44" wide picture before I print it.
I restored my catalog after my hard drive crashed but now LR will not open the images in PS for me to edit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had yesterday a photoshoot, today I was importing my images from my CF card to my local drive C: with Lightroon 4... Everything was fine, till a moment I get an error of Windows: "you need to format the disk in drive before you can use it."
I rejected my card, insterted in my dslr to check if picture still available, but on my screen I see the same error message 'Format first the card to use it'
50% of my images are not imported and I need them.
Occasionally paragraph allignment works opposite for left & right align, usually on Illustrator documents with Russian type.
In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.
In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.
I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.
I am going through our block library one block at a time (electrical, fire alarm, intercom, low voltage symbols). I have to scale most of them to be 1=1 rather than 10=1, change the default text style, and make sure I've got consistent sizes.
A problem I've noticed on our tool palette that I insert from is, some of the tool images are so small that you don't see what they are, you have to go by the name.
When / how is this image created? I've tried to zoom extents on the file it's self, save it, then use "update tool image" on the pallet.
I use lightroom to order and do small edits to photos. Alot of the time I will batch a set of photos through a couple actions (photoshop) before I start with lightroom.My problem arises when I (more often than not my colleuge) will start working with the wrong source pictures (either scaled down size or not batched yet). So i've got a collection with all the wrong sized photos as source. So my question is if i replace the picture withe the proper resolution files which are named the same is there a way i can force lighroom to "relink" with the high res versions? I tried deleting the source files with the hope that lightroom would ask me to relink them but it didn't.

It is checked, but I keep finding files that "have been changed recently". So not only that it's not auto-saving them, but it is also finding "new images" that "have been recently changed" even though I didn't open or edited them in the past several months..
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter the OS X 10.8.5 update on my current generation 27' iMac moving 1:1 images results in very low resolution for those areas I am moving to with as long as a two second delay before the image snaps back into full resolution. Not only that but when it snaps back into full resolution you see a shift in alignment and a snapping into place with the nearby area that was already in full resolution. This is awful and is occuring with Lightroom 5 and 5.2.
My iMacs specs are the current generation 27" iMac, i7 3.4 Ghz, 32GB RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB running OS X 10.8.5.
I did not have this issue with OS X 10.8.3.
Is there a quick way to replace/update images in Edge animate? It was simple to do in Flash but I haven't seen the same function in Edge.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe management of the importation of externally linked images still has the problem in previous versions.
1) You can't import more than one picture at a time, externally connected simultaneously in the document.
2) If you move the picture within it, in a new folder, there is the possibility of assigning the new path to more 'photos at the same time but only one at a time.
So if I have 100 photos to be updated with the new path I have to do with each photo. While it would be much more logical to assign the same path to more 'selected photos.
best way to stack 2d and 3d items together in the same document, and maximize the editibility...
I'm working on a digital room setting, and I have part of the room in 3d and part in 2d. So, for example, the walls, ceiling, floor, table, chairs and corner hutch are 3d, but the regular hutch and buffet server are in 2d.
- The table and chairs need to be in the foreground
- The regular hutch and server are behind the table and chairs
- The corner hutch needs to be behind all other pieces of furniture
So, you may be catching on by now to my little dilemna... I want all the 3D items to have the same lighting and reflect off one another, however, I need the 2d layers to somehow fit "inbetween" the 3d objects. The simple question is, how can this be done? Is there a way to mask the foreground 3D objects so that they appear to be in from of the 2D objects? My only current solution is this:
- Move the whole 3D layer (the scene layer) all the way to the back
- Make the final decision on the position of the table and chairs
- Hide all other meshes in the scene besides the table and chairs
- Render, so the edges are clean
- Load the newly rendered 3D layer as a selection (which loads the table and chairs only)
- Either create a new layer from the selection of the rendered 3D layer, or mask the 3D layer so that the table and chairs appear to be in the foreground
The method above means I can no longer edit/reposition/scale the 3D at all.
i just noticed that there is no manual update file for ACR 7.2. most of our company computers are offline.
how should we update them without a manual update file?

adobes says the final ACR 7.2 update is available through the CS6 update.well that is of no use when you have offline computers. This update will be released as manual update file too?! any infos?
When transfering images from Lightroom to Photoshop HDR for instance. message says update Camera Raw. Update attempts all come back to 'update server is not in service' --
View 1 Replies View RelatedI make GIFs as a hobby. But what happen was that 3 days ago, I opened my Photoshop CS5.1 Extended version 12.1 (x64) and did the usual thing.
I went to Scripts and to Load Files into Stacks. I loaded my files and pressed OK. So here's the funny part, usually, the pictures will load by itself and eveyrthing will be in order. But what happen was that the layers load to around 6 to 7 layers and everything just disappear. Literally disappear. Like I didn't even load anything. No canvas, no images, nothing. I thought it was a bug or something so I reinstalled my CS5 but the problem remains.
So I try with my CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64. (That I barely use because I'm still more comfortable with CS5.) And the same thing happens.
I decided to Google it and nothing comes up. I do not know whether is it my laptop or something went wrong somewhere. This has never happen before for the amount of time I have CS5.
I even change my scratch disc space. Last time it was on (C) with around 20GB space and nothing happens. So I changed it to my D drive and it has atleast 150GB space. I even tried closing every applications I have to test whether is it something related to my ram. But nothing happens. The problem remains.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to stack a number of TIFF images. When I start the process, I cannot minimise the window or hot key into any other. I can get to other processes via the Start button but once up, they stay up unless I load something else on top of them. Left to itself, it can stay like this for several hours. It has got worse over time and the function has become unusable.I am using Photoshop CS5 64 bit. The computer runs Windows 7 64 bit SP1.

Task Manager says I am using 12% CPU and 28% RAM..The status alternates between 'running' and 'not responding'..I am not running any other applications.I am thinking that I do not have Photoshop set up properly.
Photoshop lets add multiple Smart Filters (SF) to the same Smart Object (SO), and define the blending mode of each SF separately.
Let's say I've a SO with two SF (Gaussian Blur and Median): it looks like they operate in stack, that is: the first filter (Gaussian Blur) is applied to the original SO, while the second (Median) is applied to the result of the first filter (i.e. the blurred SO). As a consequence, if you switch the order of the SF, the result changes. That's the way it is.
My question is as follows: is there a preference / setting hidden somewhere that would make the multiple Smart Filters of a single SO operate *not* in stack, but on the very same SO, letting the blending modes to do the blend? I doubt, but it's fair to ask.
