I am trying to stack a number of TIFF images. When I start the process, I cannot minimise the window or hot key into any other. I can get to other processes via the Start button but once up, they stay up unless I load something else on top of them. Left to itself, it can stay like this for several hours. It has got worse over time and the function has become unusable.I am using Photoshop CS5 64 bit. The computer runs Windows 7 64 bit SP1.
Intel Core i7 860 2.8 GHZ Processor
16 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5450
Task Manager says I am using 12% CPU and 28% RAM..The status alternates between 'running' and 'not responding'..I am not running any other applications.I am thinking that I do not have Photoshop set up properly.
I used to have CS5 on my computer, after which I used the CS6 trial, and I never had any problems when stacking images using Auto-Blend Layers -> Stack Images. However, I recently purchased a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and after uninstalling the old PS versions and installing Cloud, Photoshop freezes every time I try to stack images.
My computer has very good specs, runs Windows 7, and both the OS and PS are up to date.
I am trying to get photoshop to combine some objects in the stacked photos. I do not understand why after selecting all the various smart objects which are layered, and going to Layers- smart objects - stack mode is greyed out.
Photoshop CS freezes on splash screen. I have been using this since CS first came out without problems. Now it will not go beyond the screen and locks up with 100% CPU usage. Athlon Barton 2500 w/2G Corsair Ram, 2 - 160G Seagate 7200 HD's configured with Raid +1. All other programs work normally...just PSCS
Should add that I have uninstalled CS and reinstalled it. I have also removed each 1G stick of Ram and tried it...then swaped the other stick...
Every time I click on an option in Photoshop CC, the menu button freezes on-screen. I will attach some images to better illustrate the problem. This is my screen after opening and closing a file. The respective part of the menu stays frozen on screen:
After clicking on a plugin button under the "Filter" menu:
It happens every time on any button. The only way to clear the screen -ahem, the only way that I know of- is through the screen resolution panel. I just have to switch to a different resolution back and forth and it works. The thing is, this bug will come back as soon as I use the menu, which is, well, very often since I rely heavily on some plugins or actions with no shortcuts.
I have Windows 7 64 bit, an ATI Radeon HD 6500M video card and a Wacom Bamboo Tablet.
I've just purchased a new HP P6-2469ea - uk desktop pc running Windows 8. There appears to be some compatibility problems with Elements 10. Other programs: iTunes. Office and the reinstalled apps etc are fine but when elements 10 is loaded the CPU usage rockets to sometimes over 90% and consistanty remains at 25% when just sat in organizer. This results in the cursor stuttering and on occasion the screen freezes and sometimes dropping out completely. HP believe it is a compatibility problem. Same program combinations work fine on Windows Vista (64bit) and a macbook pro with Apple's current operating system.
When I click on the PS 10 the organizer rectangle comes up, but, when I click it the blue screen freezes at the initializing model point and won't go to the list of albums. But, if I click on the Edit, instead, the blue screen goes to the full page with its fix tools. If I click on show items in the bin the whole list of usable albums comes up. I have run every fix and scan I can think of. Premier elements does the same, but, CS6 is fine.
I have just installed VSx4. I successfully made a project, and saved it, but when I go to the 'Share' stage, I cannot burn a DVD. All the steps complete, including preview, but when I click Burn the screen freezes at commencement, showing 3% complete and 'converting title'. Only the Cancel button appears active, but clicking on it yields no result. I noted that the DVD writer line on the menu, despite showing correct information, appeared greyed out. To exit the program and abort, I have to use Windows Task manager, which then tells me the program is waiting for a response from me - but there is no menu or screen I can find of this nature. I have to force closure with Task Manager.
I am using AUTOCAD LT 2012 on Apple computer with Parallels and Windows 7 - 64 bit.Use LT in Windows program. Use Classic screen as I am still learning 2012 version.
When I select the QuickCalc button on the top ribbon - the screen freezes/locks up.Have to reboot to get out of file and recover the file. This has now happened twice.
I'm running Revit 2013 on Parallels 8 (Windows 7 x64bit) on a Macbook Pro, it has been working fine for over a year untill today as it freezes on the startup splash screen and the 'SECSplashwnd' becomes non-responsive. Nothing significant has been changed as it was working fine 8 hours ago.
I have tried repairing the Revit installation, restarting windows and mac, uninstalling Microsoft Framework and reinstalling. Problem Details:
Description:A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.
Just started a pen tool exercise in illustrator, at some point while using the pen tool I don't know why or how it happens but my screen stops "updating", "refreshing" or "drawing" while I drag it with the hand tool. What I mean is that if I start dragging with the hand, the rulers move as normal, but anything inside just stays a still picture and only when I release the mouse button is the screen changed to where I have dragged. Although the very edges of the artboard/workspace near the rulers behave normaly, I can see bits and pieces flying past there, but it's like there's this big square at the center of my screen that is a still image.
The problem is only inside Illustrator, the rest of my computer and screen behave normally.
I am using Windows XP SP 3, all updates 'n' stuff.
When I open a file or create e new file in CS5.1, it fills the screen. In CS3, at the bottom of the tool bar, is a tool "screen mode" that lets me open a file that doesn't fill the screen so that I can put two or more small files (images) on a new blank file. I have not been able to do that in CS5. I do not know how to show two (or more) files at one time in CS5.1.
I have recently upgraded from CS3 to CS4 and have a slight problem with standard screen mode.
When I open an image in standard screen mode the image does not fill the screen and the amount of screen the image fills depends on the percentage magnification.
I have to drag the image with the cursor to fill the screen.
When I open a new image the same thing happens, it reverts back to partially filling the screen.
This only occurs in standard screen mode, the other two modes seem to be ok.
I'm now suddenly unable to use Full Screen Mode.I have a PC, and always would use the 'F' key to toggle between screen modes. But when I do this now, the screen just wobbles then stays in the standard screen mode. Even if I go to View --> Screenmode --> Full Screen Mode, the same thing happens.
I'm scanning slides with the intention of showing them in HD. So I need to crop the 3:2 slide format to 16:9. Is there any way to view a selection full-screen other than an Action? At the moment I make the 16:9 selection, crop, jump to full-screen mode, remove the selection rectangle, and CMD-0 to fill the screen.
I usually use photoshop (cs6) in full screen mode with menu bar. Often I use the window+d shortcut to return to the desktop. From here, whatever window I open, ie my browser, explorer, etc, photoshop pops up in the background minus all the menu bars. This is very annoying because it means I cannot work with files on my desktop.
I may sound like an idiot, but I'm confussed about this full screen mode. I'm taking a digital imaging class and we use Macs and PScs there. At home I have a PC with PS7. In school, I can work in full screen mode and pan the image out from under the palettes. I can't do this on my home PC. Is there a way to make this work or is it a Mac or PScs feature?
Been using CS6 PS since Beta. No problems till 13.1.1 came out. I'm in Full Screen Mode 95% of the time and 100% when I'm retouching. After the most recent update OpenGL funtions will become disabled when I go to Full Screen Mode. This is very annoying! My MBP is connected to a 30in Dell Ultra.
Here is my System Info
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.1 (13.1.1 20121213.r.223 2012/12/13:23:00:00) x64 Operating System: Mac OS 10.8.2 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:58, Stepping:9 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading Physical processor count: 4 Logical processor count: 8 Processor speed: 2300 MHz
In CS6, full screen mode, the image keeps moving up, down or to the side if my cursor gets too close to the edge of the screen. sometimes I'm not even at the edge of the screen but in the middle of the screen, I move the cursor right, the document goes to the left. In the old days the window stayed put unless you used the handtool to move it around. Is it possible to go back to this mode?
I have never been able to use Full Screen Mode / Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar because my Window Tabs disappear.
Until now I have ignored this but I really want to start making the most of my screen space. I don't understand how people can go into full screen mode without tabs of their open documents. It makes the experience completely useless to me and I can't believe I can't find any solutions online. I feel like I am overlooking a simple button somewhere on the screen thinking "surely Adobe would include this!?"
I am currently on 13 inch MacBook Pro using CS6 beta.
I have Windows 8, and Photoshop CS6. All of my blending modes work, except for Screen. I don't know why it doesn't, but I do use it somewhat frequently, and it's really holding me back at this point.
