May 20, 2013I am trying to get photoshop to combine some objects in the stacked photos. I do not understand why after selecting all the various smart objects which are layered, and going to Layers- smart objects - stack mode is greyed out.

Sep 24, 2012In the Printer Settings drop down menu both Color Mode and Print Mode are grayed-out. This just happened I cannot think of anything I've done differently.
I'm using OS 10.6.8 and the latest Epson drivers for the 3880. I have re-installed both PS and the Epson drivers. If I print from Acrobat Reader everything seems to work fine, this only is happening in Photoshop CS5.

Jul 19, 2013A co-worker scanned a photo and emailed it to me to edit it and try to improve it, but everything I want to do is grayed out so I can't select it and I can't figure out why. Maybe it has to do with how she scanned it?
It's CMYK, 300 dpi, and 8 bit.
I'd like to sharpen it and adjust the hue/saturation, but they're grayed out.
why this is happening and how I can work around this so I can make the changes I need to make?

Oct 11, 2012I am trying to stack a number of TIFF images. When I start the process, I cannot minimise the window or hot key into any other. I can get to other processes via the Start button but once up, they stay up unless I load something else on top of them. Left to itself, it can stay like this for several hours. It has got worse over time and the function has become unusable.I am using Photoshop CS5 64 bit. The computer runs Windows 7 64 bit SP1.

Task Manager says I am using 12% CPU and 28% RAM..The status alternates between 'running' and 'not responding'..I am not running any other applications.I am thinking that I do not have Photoshop set up properly.
Photoshop :: In CS6 3D Menu Is Grayed Out
Apr 22, 2013I have Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64 Extended and all options under the 3D manu are grayed out. My graphic adapter is nVidia GeForce GTX 650 (it has 1024 MB memory). I have Windows 7 x64 and 8GB RAM.
In Performance settings I have checked to use the graphic processor and in Advanced settings the drawing mode either Basic, Normal or Advanced, it doesn't make a difference.
I just tried to create a 3D postcard and got this message: why the 3D doesn't work and what can be done about it?Here is a fragment of System Info regarding the display driver. The line with OpenCL Version is empty, although I have checked "Use OpenCL", could this be a problem?

Jul 24, 2013At first my 3D menu wasn't showing up, but after reinstalling, I was able to get it. Though, the problem now is that the 3D menu itself is greyed out. I have an up to date graphics card, more than sufficient VRAM, and an overall powerful machine; I'm sure it can run 3D.

Photoshop :: Entire Menu Is Grayed Out?
Oct 31, 2012I am using CS5 Extended Teacher Student edition on my Mac OS X version 10.6.8. After using PS5 for many months with no problems, suddenly my entire menu is unavailable. I cannot even open a file or close a file from the menu.
I closed PS and restarted it and it is the same. As you will see in the screenshot, I recently downloaded and installed a couple sets for the Radlab plugin that I use to edit. I had not had any previous issues with RadLab. I have three shoots to edit and can't do anything.

If I try to use the 3D Window (Window>3D) then I get a message about enabling "Use Graphic Processor" even though its already enabled. I wanted to try out CC before upgrading for CS6 - And certainly will not be buying a new system just for 3D Option in CC (will stick with CS6)

Aug 3, 2012I just upgraded from CS4 to CS6 Design Web Premium Extended version. I'm working on a mac with OS 10.6.8. I have plenty of ram etc.
I've tried several tutorials to see what the 3D features are, but I can't even get past step 1 of selecting the extrude to 3D option.
I've tried selecting the layer and still grayed out.

Nov 23, 2013I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 10.0.1.
When launching, the window labeled "Adobe Design Suite Premium CS3" opens - it's only filled with white, and no text or graphics (I think it's usually the window asking me if I want to register, which always comes up when I launch the program (rather annoying in itself). However, now it seems that the launch gets "hung" on this window, as, even the the program starts, all the menus are grayed out, and I can't open any files or do anything. Also, the window mentioned above only has the yellow "minimize" button available in the top left corner, so I can't close it or otherwise get rid of it. Since even the Quit function is grayed out, I have to quit the program with a force quit. Also, this same thing happens in my other CS3 programs (In Design) as well.
I tried trashing the photoshop plist file (com.adobe.photoshop.plist) and also the com.adobe.118.registration file, which had no effect.

With a tool selected, the mode menu drops down and returns before a selection maybe made. Unusable situation.

Jan 5, 2009For some reason the 'Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar' option has a blue background now. The background used to be gray, and then one time i opened up Photoshop and now the background is blue. It is very annoying and affects my painting. The grey was neutral, now it is blue so my colors are going to appear off.
If you don't know what i mean: Open Photoshop, make a canvas (new image) Hit the key "F" on your keyboard 2 times so the canvas takes up the entire page but the menu bars are still up. The color around the canvas is Blue, when it has ALWAYS been gray.

Nov 25, 2013i just started using gimp on ubuntu 13.10 . almost half of the menu items are greyed out. most of the filters work or ar not greyed out, g'mic is greyed out and so is most of the stuff in the file menu (export, save, save as, etc.) . i already tried re-installing gimp from the software center with no prevail. this is how it was the first time i installed it on this new ubuntu 13.10 .
is there something that i can do to maybe refresh the entire gimp folder maybe? maybe delete it then re-install gimp. i really dont know if this would fix anything though.
this is really irritating. and no its not the "image RGB/indexed mode" problem.
im pretty sure i dont have anything installed (like some weird ubuntu restricted access fake file) that could interfere with the interface at all as this is a pretty fresh installation. the most i have installed that might even be close to interfering with the interface is "pipelight" which is for flash and silverlight, not gimp.
i even tried different color profiles and none of them work. i even downloaded the brand new color profiles from adobe. none of those work either.
the only way i got ALL of the menu options back, including g'mic, was opening gimp through raw therapee (basically adobe lightroom for ubuntu) which might be of some use in finding an answer to this?
i already have everything i need installed including the ubuntu restricted access extras and such.i just would like gimp to open normally with all the normal file menu options enabled like everyone elses and not be all greyed out ..

I'm working on a digital room setting, and I have part of the room in 3d and part in 2d. So, for example, the walls, ceiling, floor, table, chairs and corner hutch are 3d, but the regular hutch and buffet server are in 2d.
- The table and chairs need to be in the foreground
- The regular hutch and server are behind the table and chairs
- The corner hutch needs to be behind all other pieces of furniture
So, you may be catching on by now to my little dilemna... I want all the 3D items to have the same lighting and reflect off one another, however, I need the 2d layers to somehow fit "inbetween" the 3d objects. The simple question is, how can this be done? Is there a way to mask the foreground 3D objects so that they appear to be in from of the 2D objects? My only current solution is this:
- Move the whole 3D layer (the scene layer) all the way to the back
- Make the final decision on the position of the table and chairs
- Hide all other meshes in the scene besides the table and chairs
- Render, so the edges are clean
- Load the newly rendered 3D layer as a selection (which loads the table and chairs only)
- Either create a new layer from the selection of the rendered 3D layer, or mask the 3D layer so that the table and chairs appear to be in the foreground
The method above means I can no longer edit/reposition/scale the 3D at all.
