View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't need or want the drag and drop (DROPGEOM) command. I never use it because it is much slower than simply using the move command or grips. But some times when I am going faster than the computer I accidentally do it and then have to wait while it moves the object and then wait while I use undo to move it back. It can take a really long time if I accidentally move a large xref. So is there some way to turn off drag and drop of autocad entities?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several parts designed "car line" in their respective parts.
I would like to simply add them to an assembly in their respective axis positions.
Obviously "place" drops in in an arbitrary position to then be "Assembled". Not what I am looking for.
I was looking for a copy/ paste function between part / assembly but there seems no way to paste into an assembly.
When I attempt to drag and drop a photo from the Elements 12 Organizer to an Album, it fails and the message, "Error Appllying Keyword Tag(s)" appears. How can I correct this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not a master of Photo-Paint, I use Draw for most tasks, but here I think Photo-Paint would be the right tool. I want to resample an image and then add a 7 px drop shadow to it and then export it as a PNG for web (transparent drop shadow). The problem I encounter is at the export stage, as the whole paper size is exported, not just the object selected, as is the case in Draw. Is there any other option than to place the object in the upper left corner (coordinates 0, 0 ) resize the paper size to fit and then export?

A couple of weeks a go I read a post here in CT which taught how to automate this part of commands. I don't know how to find it.
I am wondering how many times you can use split command on one part?
I have never used split command before.
if you look at the image below, i would like to split this into 4 pieces, and looking for the quickest and the way that makes the most sense way to do it.
The options window will not display when typing "options" in the command line or selecting from the drop down. The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedA workflow that works great for me is to create parts (Make Part command) from a multibody solid. The dialog window presents one with an option to choose other Templates (I have a few), BUT I have to choose the template I want to use EACH time I create a part. That is, Inventor doesn't automatically remember the last Template I chose, it defaults to the Standard.ipt or Standard.iam.
Is it possible to set it so that Inventor remembers what Template I chose the last time so that I don't have to choose it every time I Make Part?
I have made a large amount of custom parts in a systems furniture drawing I am doing. I made the mistake of putting them all on the same layer and am now realizing i need them to be on separate layers. I tried to just make new layers and then assign the new layers to my custom parts. It acts like it does it but then the parts behave as if they were still on the common layer that i originally created them on. Is there a way to get the custom parts to only be linked to the new layer and not act like they are still on the original layer? My other thought was if i made a new layer, then drew my custom symbol again using that layer... could I then somehow tell my custom part to now use this new symbol that is on the new layer instead of the current symbol that is on the bad layer? I am trying to avoid having to completely start over creating all my parts again because there are at least 30 and I had already put in all of the options, atriubtes, part numbers, pricing, etc... and it would be very time consuming to start that over.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to do a simple thing : drop ortho-photo on surface generated from contour line.
First thing, I need the basic terrain. I did import my contour line in a new draw, using the import map feature. I then saved the draw under the name " topo ". At this point, the contour line are 2D break line with no elevation.
I then opened a new draw to which I did associate my draw " topo ". Then I used a query to modify the elevation of the line using the attribute " contour " in my table, thus resulting in my breakline to become 3-D. It works fine. Then I save the new draw as " 3D_Topo ". I then get a warning :
" The association between objects interogated in the current drawing and associated will be deleted once the current document of the draw is closed " (I made the translation from french to english, in french it stated like this : " L'association entre des objets interrogés dans des dessins courants et associés sera supprimée une fois le fichier de dessin courant fermé. " ).
Well question #1 : What does this warning mean / imply ?
Then, I have those .ecw files as ortho photo which I want to import. So I use the function " connect " with raster image, then I select my file, then I " add to draw ".... then something very strange happens.
Sometime, the image appears correctly...and some other times I get nothing and I get this " disconnected " message in the task pane ..and no matter how many time I actually connect again the .ecw files, it will not happen in the draw ! Then I simply close the draw, start map 3D again, then I do the exact same thing, and sometime it works, sometime it doesn't.
Question #2 : any clue on why the .ecw files sometime works, sometime doesn't?
Now, let's assume I finally made it to connect correctly and that Map3d didn't crash whilst I was doing it (because I don't know for you, but here, it does happens quit often), I now have (as shows in the picture I attached) two thing. A surface made (well, I went back in the civil 3-D module to make the actual surface from the breakline definition) with the contour line and a imported image. I now want to drap the image on my surface! So I use the option " drap " which is in the surfaces option (in the ribbon surface tools)... well it looks nice since it propose me to use the surface I made up with the contour line as the base and the imported .ecw files as the file to be draped upon. So I simply do that and.... well...nothing happens! My image isn't draped at all, it stays there,
Question #3 : How should I proceed to actually drap my image over my surface ?
Question #4 : Considering I made it to drap the surface, how can I save this new draw independently of the attached other draw or database?
I use Photoshop Cs3 and know a little about it. I have a photo I scanned in at 600 ppi and I want to select part of it - blow that up to an output of at least 8" wide.
I do not have Illustrator - I use a Mac and am currently working on a project with Mac's program ipages.
I have a photo (attached) and wish to do two things with it. I hope a) to emphasise both the earthenware texture of the vase and its wooden background to give the image some contrast and b), to recolour the brown fence in royal blue. I have tried to do this using the eyedropper tool and then Image | Adjustments | Replace colour, but because the vase itself is coloured in a shade of brown I find that in addition to blue replacing brown as the fence colour, it also replaces it as the colour of the vase.
So, I somehow need to 'lift' the vase from the image, then recolour the fence in isolation, and then put the vase back into the photo - but I am not sure how to do that.
I have a photo in RAW format, shot with a flash where the photo is properly exposed except for the face on the subject. It is badly overexposed. Any tips on correcting exposure in just that area? I think I understand the general steps - mask and correct, but would like any tips since this is the first time I'm doing such a thing. Usually, exposure correction for me involved the entire photo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've imported a photo of a striped shirt into PSE 6. I want to put some text on top of the shirt. Unfortunately, the stripes on the shirt make it difficult to read the text.
So I though if faded the stripes a little--where the text will be--that will fix this problem.
So I need to know how to fade just that one section of the photo where the text will be. I don't want to fade it entirely--just enough so that the text is readable. That is, I want the stripes to still be somewhat visible. How much I fade them will be up to me.
How do you cut out a part of a photo and then superimpose it on another photo?
