Photoshop Elements :: Layering Part Of One Photo Into Another One

Feb 18, 2014

Is it possible to layer part of one photo into another photo ?  And, when  "layering that part of the photo, is it possible to layer it into a  "selected" part of the  receiving photo ?

Illustrator :: Layering Only Part Of Object And Aligning Convergence Point In Middle

Oct 12, 2012

I would like to layer them in such a way that the orage circle below is put in front of the green circle. Essentially, I need to select only the part of the orange circle and bring it to the front while leaving the other part of the circle alone. Can this be done in Illustrator?

In summary, this is what I am trying to accomplish: Green over blueBlue over yellowYellow over orangeOrange over Green

Also, is there a way to use a tool inside of illustrator to arrange the locations so they are all 100% perfectly alligned and meeting in the middle without "eyeballing" it?

Photoshop Elements :: How To Fade Part Of A Photo

Jan 13, 2014

I've imported a photo of a striped shirt into PSE 6.   I want to put some text on top of the shirt.   Unfortunately, the stripes on the shirt make it difficult to read the text.

So I though if faded the stripes a little--where the text will be--that will fix this problem.

So I need to know how to fade just that one section of the photo where the text will be.  I don't want to fade it entirely--just enough so that the text is readable.  That is, I want the stripes to still be somewhat visible.   How much I fade them will be up to me.

Photoshop :: How To Use Layering

Sep 12, 2008

I am not that familiar with this version of photoshop (CS3). however I'm trying my best to see how to use it. I have a logo image for my business that I want to insert in flyers, brochures, etc. The color of my logo is a dark plum/purple. When I use it on a white background it looks ok. but when I try to insert it in something that has a colored or tinted background, you see the white square around the logo, and it looks horrible. How can I "cut" or layer just the logo image and use it without it applying the white background square?

Photoshop :: Layering..

Nov 21, 2004

going through an 850 page

What im trying to do is get it "Layer Via Copy" and get it so its a blank page with nothing but the layer i copied..which has the paw print i copied, as instructed in the book.
All the book says to do is "Go to layer via copy" and then i can add text and do all this other good stuff...It doesnt do anything but copy the layer,

If i click the Layers pallet i see the thumbnail for what im trying to get to display, but clicking it doesnt do anything..Basically its a photo and another layer..See this next photo..Theres the thumbnail for what im trying to get to, but clicking it does nothing for me. (Compare it to a donkey trying to get a carrot tied to a fishing pole..

Photoshop :: Layering

May 12, 2004

i have not experience enough in the photoshop area outside of cropping and editing pics. basic layering is logical in it's process however I can't quite figure out the basic understanding of HOW it is working.

Right now I have a label that needs to be transferred to a webpage however, it has been requested that the colors be changed. (I would get a book but I am in the middle of eastern europe without a chance to get an English book for photoshop!!!)

The basics are these. I duplicate the label which is very simple- only two layers... the backdrop white and the image maroon. The back drop only needs to be black.

However, when I click onto the "eye" of the backdrop image it goes blank like it should.

I try to make another backdrop layer and get nothing exept a selection of pastel colors... What's up with that. I try to change the colors or get the color black in there.

I simply don't know how to get it to black.

Photoshop :: Layering Palette

May 12, 2006

I am trying to work on a collage and when I open my pictures they are not opening as individual layers in the layer palette as all my materials say they should. As I open one at a time they open as a background and that is the only layer in the palette. They are all in the photo bin but only one palette is displayed. I have gone through a couple tutorials step by step and for some reason it is not working. How do I get my pictures to open up as their own layers so I can work with them?

Photoshop :: Isolating Part Of Photo / Texture?

Apr 20, 2012

I have a photo (attached) and wish to do two things with it. I hope a) to emphasise both the earthenware texture of the vase and its wooden background to give the image some contrast and b), to recolour the brown fence in royal blue. I have tried to do this using the eyedropper tool and then Image | Adjustments | Replace colour, but because the vase itself is coloured in a shade of brown I find that in addition to blue replacing brown as the fence colour, it also replaces it as the colour of the vase.

So, I somehow need to 'lift' the vase from the image, then recolour the fence in isolation, and then put the vase back into the photo - but I am not sure how to do that.

Photoshop :: Fixing Exposure On Part Of Photo

Mar 26, 2007

I have a photo in RAW format, shot with a flash where the photo is properly exposed except for the face on the subject. It is badly overexposed. Any tips on correcting exposure in just that area? I think I understand the general steps - mask and correct, but would like any tips since this is the first time I'm doing such a thing. Usually, exposure correction for me involved the entire photo.

Photoshop Elements :: Keeping Photo Size When Dragging And Dropping Photo Into New Document

Nov 20, 2013

When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created.  However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size.  It typically shrinks down in size.   Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size?  There must be a better way to do this.  Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.
