I took a photo of a shoe, which is black but has 2 small red balls attached to it. I wish to convert the whole photo to black and white but mantain the red colour of the balls. I was using the lasso tool to select the portion of the image i wish to put in b&w but it?s not pratical at all and didn?t work well! Is there an easy way to keep the balls intact while editing the rest of the photo to b&w?
I have just got done revising a business card that I have printed in the past. The Card was created in Photoshop Cs5. The strange issue is now when I attempt to make it into a pdf so I can combine it with the second side I am partially loosing some of the fills in the text. Here is a copy of the psd
Here is what the pdf looks like notice the missing red in vinyl and in the k of tick. This is what the settings are in the save as menu. The other odd thing is it looks ok if you view the pdf in photoshop but if you view it in Acrobat x professional it starts to lose it's fills.
What is the best way to mix five different colors in equal portions and see what the resulting color is, as if I was putting 5 drips of each color into a container and stirring well.
I have tried the smudge tool and placed the five colors abutting each other, but there has to be a better way.
I want to reduce the length of the legs a bit and straighten the back one out a bit.How can you go about this without changing a lot of the anchor points? Is there a way to select a portion of the leg or image and move it separately?
Getting a little confused on how to make various adjustments, like brightness, darkness, hue, etc. to only PORTIONS of sky. I want to be able to go back to the adjustments later to adjust further if necessary. What has happened so far is that when making adjustments to the sky it is affecting the subject
Whenever I create a new colour in the colour swatches it only stays there for a couple of actions while working on a project. I understand from others that once they create a colour it stays there. Why can't I get that to happen?
I am using CS6 and the Replace Colour Tool no longer allows me to replace multiple colours when I select the + . So when I have the panel open and I highlight the +, I used to then be able to click on several spots in my image and all of the colours that are in those spots are added to the selected colours that will be changed by using the sliders.
But now, when I use the + it has exactly the same effect as not using it - I can only choose one colour or an other, I can't add.....I want to reset this to the original way that this works.
Currently I have to open the panel, change one variation of a colour, save it, then re-open the panel and do it again (and again and again) until all the colour variations I am trying to remove are are changed. I know I also have the 'fuzziness' slider, but it does not give enough control.
I seem to be having this issue with rendering in Max. I play this game called SimCity 4 and have a special user-built script for 3ds Max that allows exporting models made in Max into the game after a few steps.
The script basically sets up Mental Ray and some camera/light rigs to mimic realistic sunlight. In this image you can see the problem pretty obviously.. In some areas it looks like there is coplanar geometry, and i've double checked to ensure there isn't. Some objects have complete portions of the geometry missing, such as the roof.
Basically, I'm using another program (Axograph.X) to export a graph as a .svg file. When I open the graph in illustrator, lart portions of it are missing. I'm not getting any error message; just white space where there should be data points.
The problem isn't with the .svg file itself; the everything is displayed properly when I open the file in Firefox (20.0.1) or Internet Explorer 10.
I am designing a T Shirt for my ski club.I have taken an image from a banner (made in illustrator, full colour image attached) and I want to devide into a 3 colour image for the t shirt (I am only allowed 3 colours for printing). The colours I want to use are black, white and purple. The colour of the t shirt is a light blue.I want to then put the purple logo on top of the white and black too.So I'm after a black and white grunge background with a punchy purple logo on the top.All of this should be on a tranparent or, for design purposes, light bue (same as T Shirt colour) background.
how to split a full colour image into using only 3 (4 including transparent/light blue background) exact colours.
If I were going to black and white I might convert to grey scale and then paint areas to fully white or fully black using an overlay brush I don't think this works for me for more than just black and white though.
I have attached two of my attempts where I used the colour range selection and level adjustments. Niether was really successful though (one does not use the right colours or number of colours but looks quite cool).
Making certain portions of an image glow. Because I am the most artistically capable of my peers, I was chosen to make a section T-shirt for my school's band's saxophone section. I have the front done, but to do back. The idea is have a slightly obscured saxophone with the key holes and bell glowing. Thing is, how to do it. I tried messing around with the glow effect in version 3.5.4, but that affects the entire images.
URL....I need to be able to fill the white portions of this text/font..With a reddish color. But I need to remove the background piece surrounding the letters, and have, this:
Which was done in photoshop using the shape tool for the fill behind the text, then I selected the text area and hit inverted selection, and deleted the selection from the shape/fill layer.I've been playing around with pathfinder for a bit and can't get what I want.
I will like to find out the colour code for the background colour on a particular web address. Unfortunately I am new here so not allowed to post links so will say this as creatively as possible. the address is theregentlagos (with the usual prefix beginning with w and suffix beginning with c for all websites). I am referring to the colour where the menu items like logo, home, brands etc are on.
I've been asked to convert an image to 2 colour for printing. I have the image as a full colour CMYK layout (with layers), but the whole thing needs to be converted to 2 colour. I have the pantone reference numbers for the 2 colours it is to be converted to. I am familiar with the hue/saturation tool, but this just seems to convert it to one colour, and you have no fine control over the exact colour you want.
how to cut those three portions instead of my full-section view.I have a dimensioning problem with this second radius which inventor refuses to create even it detects that it's a fillet feature. also how do I resize the dimension text.
I work in both metric and imperial dimensions. I specify european cabinetry, and most of the architectural drawings i receive are for US clientelle so they're in ft and inches. When dimensioning, it's important that the cm dimensions are accurate for the factory, but the inches are accurate for the contractors.
So my drawing had 1 plan and 4 elevations. All drawn correctly. All scaled together, never one at a time. Yesterday morning everything printed correctly with this drawing.
Randomly, after some very minor changes to the drawing, 1 elevation remained at the correct scale and the plan, and 3 elevations randomly scaled down and at different scales from each other. Also, when i plotted this to a printer it matched what was on the screen. When i plotted it to PDF immediately after, the PDF's reflected 5 totally different scales where all 5 drawings and didn't match the screen or print. For example: a cabinet height in one elevation was 87cm, the next 86cm , and the next 83.9cm. Printed to pdf at totally different dimensions (see attached).
The file was closed and reopened, and the plan, and 2 different elevations were at an even different scale, smaller scale than before. They more closely matched what I got when plotting to a PDF.
I purged, and audited (no errors found), I copied only the bare bones necessary info into a new document, and scaled everything by reference to the size it needed to be. Most of the drawing automatically corrected themselves to the correct dimensions with the one step.
However, certain lines on my plans scaled at a far greater scale, while one wall was accurate, and one wall was off just a fraction. So even though i selected the entire thing and scaled it up together, different layers scaled differently. Basically i had to redraw the plan almost entirely.
The same happened with 3 of the 4 elevations. One section scaled correctly, one section scaled more than it should have and made that portion off.
So i had to redo that elevation as well.I created guidelines and set them where they need to be to align every single wall and cabinet and locked the layer in the hopes that if things move again, the guides will remain.
This has happened randomly with drawings previously, but only by a degree of .1 to .3 cm. I figured this was from scaling the drawings and dimension accuracy. While that was annoying, it was minor. This time we're looking at 2-8 inches difference which can really mess up a job if unnoticed.
what could cause only portions of drawings to scale differently than the rest and at random times even when the scale command hasn't been used? And between closing a document and reopening it? AND from printing to a printer and to a PDF?
Not getting the whole unit "lit" up or when I finally do that, not getting the part to remove to "light up" in its entirety. Not sure if over writing a line is the problem or..........if I need to Pedit.......I don't know how to do that either and the purpose otherwise. My tutor is out of town.
I'm in 3D modeling, 2011, computer is handling this very well.
I have used Photoshop for a while and right now I am trying Paint.net, there are a few things that I really do not understand.
1)When I create a font layer and wish to come back to it later on by modifying the font size or font type, I have to delete the layer and then redo type it again which I find totally useless. When you make a menu for a restaurant for example, the last thing you want is to delete the layers and replace them each time. If Paint.net works this way then I cannot see how it is possible to use it on a daily basis.
2)When I wish to crop something, it is impossible to select certain area of the cropping that have been selected by the magic wand. How to remove already selected portions of the magic wand? Sometime it may choose a tiny portion of the picture that you do not want to crop at all.
3)Choosing a layer on click.
This is a huge problem, we have on the right side of the screen a multiple layer dock, in photoshop for example, when you click on the graphical work, the layer is auto selected, in Paint.net I cannot find this "must have" function.
4)Creating a rounded picture without the need to cut the corners to get to a final rounded banner or whatever we are trying to achieve.
How can you create a rounder banner in jpeg for example(no background). At the moment I can only crop a picture from a square canvas and save it as png(foo background transparency), but how to create the same picture in jpeg? The canvas is always square.
I am curious if it is possible to modify only specific portions of a surface? For example, I have recieved an xml surface representing FG for a project, and want to do an earthwork calculation, could I raise and lower only portions of the project say by using specific boundaries for the asphalt paving, concrete etc. and then implement the raise & lower surface feature for these portions of the FG surface.
At this time I have been creating multiple surfaces for each particular feature of the site, then paste the FG surface, add a boudary and lower appropriately. Finally, I have to go through and paste each particular feature and its small surface into one "subgrade surface" to get an accurate representation. This method results in countless small surfaces and alot of leg work for something that seems like it should be simple.
I know that the surface defentions (FL's or corridors), should they be provided, would make this easy, but there have been several occasions where these are not being made availble by the project sponsor.
Just loaded Draw Graphics Sute X5 on a secondary computer running Vista. CDR file shows up correctly in print preview, but bitmap portions of document do not print.
We have a large AutoCAD file received from a survey company consisting of one large block that I want to explode and edit. When I attempt to explode it, a portion of it disappears.
This is the fifth version of the file that we have received. The previous versions did not have that portion at all, so we had to keep sending back for it.
What's been tried: 1. Turned on/unfroze all layers and zoom extents - No change 2. Tried both Burst and Explode - No change 3. Tried to copy/paste into a new drawing. - "Copy to Clipboard Failed" 4. Inserted drawing as a block into a new drawing. - The disappearing portion did not seem to be inserted along with the rest of the drawing 5. Attempted to edit the block. - "This block contains proxy objects and cannot be edited in the Block Editor"
I know that I can use a clipping mask, but I prefer not to have the extra shape of a clipping mask. I've tried all of the Pathfinder commands and those don't work. The Shape Builder tool is tedious for this. An example is the circle with lines extending past the circle in the illustration below. Is there an easy way to delete just the portions of the lines that extend past the circle and leave those inside the circle?
I have tried multiple types of hide boundaries, etc. for this, and cant find a solution. I'm sure it is very simple, but..
I need a corridor that transitions from 2% sideslope to 0% sideslope. This transition occurs in a horizontal AND vertical curve. I understand I could use EOP alignments, profiles, etc to achieve this. I dont have the time or civil3D knowledge to figure this out on a friday afternoon...
So... my plan is to not apply the transition, and just hide the contours in the transition area and sketch them in by hand. I want to corridor surface to remain so that when other profiles are created from this surface it is still somewhat accurate (instead of removing this portion of corridor surface, and adding simple contours to the surface). I just want the surface hidden for +/- 50'.
Everything I have tried hides the surface everywhere, including new profiles from the surface.
I have copied some colour negatives using my digital camera. What is the best procedure for removing the orange base colour of the film prior to converting them to positives?
How do I see the object selected change colour dynamically as I adjust the colour sliders?
It seems the object only changes colour when I release the slider. But I want to see it dynamically change, so I can find the colour that works best without "hit or miss" - "trial and error" behaviour.
Yes... I'm aware some of you spend hours in colour programs creating a palette to work with. Good for you.
I'm just wanting to do it LIVE. Dynamically. In 2013. In Illustrator.
