View 5 RepliesI want to change my selected text to a different cmyk color using javascript. I have tried and I do not know what is missing or what I am doing wrong.

Some of my artboards use the color yellow to highlight selected objects. Can I change that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used Photoshop for a while and right now I am trying Paint.net, there are a few things that I really do not understand.
1)When I create a font layer and wish to come back to it later on by modifying the font size or font type, I have to delete the layer and then redo type it again which I find totally useless. When you make a menu for a restaurant for example, the last thing you want is to delete the layers and replace them each time. If Paint.net works this way then I cannot see how it is possible to use it on a daily basis.
2)When I wish to crop something, it is impossible to select certain area of the cropping that have been selected by the magic wand. How to remove already selected portions of the magic wand? Sometime it may choose a tiny portion of the picture that you do not want to crop at all.
3)Choosing a layer on click.
This is a huge problem, we have on the right side of the screen a multiple layer dock, in photoshop for example, when you click on the graphical work, the layer is auto selected, in Paint.net I cannot find this "must have" function.
4)Creating a rounded picture without the need to cut the corners to get to a final rounded banner or whatever we are trying to achieve.
How can you create a rounder banner in jpeg for example(no background). At the moment I can only crop a picture from a square canvas and save it as png(foo background transparency), but how to create the same picture in jpeg? The canvas is always square.
Any way to switch to something more eye-catching than grey? Like in
previous versions...
I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe color space on the selected images appears to be changing when I use the Lightroom flash gallery in the web module of LR4.1. This stays the same when the gallery is uploaded. In previous version of LR I have seen color changes in the web module but they have been corrected (and correct) when the gallery is uploaded to the 'net.
I have read that this was (previously) a problem with the flash gallery specifically becuase it was not colour magaded, but I understood that this had been corrected for LR4. As far as my use is concerned it's actually more problematic now than it has been previously.
I make a duplicate layer of a car photo and use the solarization tool and then erase the portion of the car I want to be in color.

How do I select all the text and change the same letters to a selected color at once, I know how to change the color for a letter one by one, but it is too tedious.
Sometimes when I have an object selected and I go to select a fill color for it, the object turns a corresponding shade of grey, even though I'm selecting a color from the color picker.
Other objects on the artboard have color, so it doesn't seem to be a global setting....
When I copy some text in Illustrator, say red text, and my color well is set to pink, the newly pasted text is now pink?
Here is a short video of the problem, me copying the top text and without changing anything, pasting it. Note the color-well is set to black

The thing is that my dimension text is colored white and outlined with the cyan( the color I want to use it for).
I have attached an image so that you can see. How to remove this white and have some other color instead of that.
I am currently working on a project which requires me to run a script several times, probably over 200 times. Ive been racking my brain serveral times over and cannot figure out how to have the selected layer be renamed by its color information. Ive also tried to maybe build a new layer command into the current action I am using, but i keep having a dialog box pop up which interrupts the rest of the action.
Also, is there a way to automate an action according to a swatch. Meaning if I select a swatch can i have it perform the action and then move on to the next swatch in the list, or until the swatch list has been completed.
When using the gradient mesh tool or paintbrush in Illustrator - the technique is not reflected ACCURATELY on the screen. For example when painting with a red brush - the screen shows a different color. Sometimes a different magnification will resolve the issue other times it will not.
Running MAC OS6 10.7.5 This is currently happening in Illustrator CS6 Illustrator 5.5 is also on the machine too.
When I run the script for an object selection, I want each object to have its color set to the underlying color as if I had used the eyedropper tool. Is this something that can be scripted?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI create gradients all the time and i'm wondering if there's a quick way to create a gradient based on the current selected object's fill color. For example: I have selected a box with a fill color of BLUE. I go to the gradient panel and see that what the gradient will be if I click on it (that is usally based on a default gradient WHITE to BLACK, or it comes from the most recent gradiented object I touched). So I click on it and the gradient is activated with the stops being not BLUE. What i want is... if i select a box with a BLUE fill and click on gradient - it will create a gradient with both stops being the same BLUE as the fill color. This would be very convenient because instead of clicking on each stop, shift-eyedropping the the blue color from a duplicated box, it would instantly start with the blue-blue gradient for me to tweak (in the case below for a button i would make the higher stop lighter and lower stop darker).
It's somewhat useful to select an object with a gradient to "copy" that gradient, select a new object, click on the gradient panel and have this new object take on that exact gradient. But most of the time i'm not copying gradients but i'm creating new ones, and it makes more sense for me to create a gradient derived from the fill color.
Basically, I'm using another program (Axograph.X) to export a graph as a .svg file. When I open the graph in illustrator, lart portions of it are missing. I'm not getting any error message; just white space where there should be data points.
The problem isn't with the .svg file itself; the everything is displayed properly when I open the file in Firefox (20.0.1) or Internet Explorer 10.
I received an Illustrator file in which I have to implement a translated text. I see the text cursor, but when I try to select text it disappears and I cannot see how much of a sentence or word is selected. I can delete the selection or write something else in its place, but I am working "blind" without seeing how much of text I selected until I change it or delete it. I see nothing unusual in Preferences. It is the only Illustrator file that behave that way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a web designer and regularly get sent logos etc from clients. More recently I have been sent a jpg image black and white of a girl with a wedding veil on. There is some handwriting text to the left which is a white colour.
As I dont have access to the original psd file I am trying to find an easy way to change the text colour to a pink the client has chosen.
I am using adobe photoshop cs6 and have tried using the colour swap option under image tab but it just seems to change the colour to gray and not the pink i have selected.
Can someone tell me if the following is possible?
I write a line of text. I would now like to select the text field to change the color of the text rather than highlighting the actual text itself. This is because highlighting the text changes the bg color to black over the text you highlight and alters the color of the text (I think it inverts it). Is this possible?
When I select the Document Library option when making a color image trace, the colors shift in the image but do not match the selected color group. I've tried multiple color groups, and the colors always change, but never match the selected swatches.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a script in CS5 mac os10.6.8 that will change the fill color of selected pathItems. I need a simple script that will change a selected pathItem to cmyk values 2,3,15,0. I will then select this script and implement the action in a batch of 600 files.
I wish this process could be recorded as an action but when I record the action "add new swatch" I have to manually input the cmyk values, which will take forever for a batch of over 600 files.

Which was done in photoshop using the shape tool for the fill behind the text, then I selected the text area and hit inverted selection, and deleted the selection from the shape/fill layer.I've been playing around with pathfinder for a bit and can't get what I want.
how do I move select parts of text? I have a "B" and a "G" that I put into Illustrator using the text tool. When I go to move the "G" onto the lower corner of the "B", it selects both letters and moves them as a block.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave a document that has several artboards in it. (kinda like a multipage document). Each page is similar, but some of the text boxes has variations from page to page. So if I am zoomed in on page 1 to one text box and I select some text, using the type tool, and then hit SHIFT-page down (or page up) to go to the next page, it won't. Switch to a different tool, and it works.
WHY? Why can't I use a keyboard short cut to jump to another page while in the type tool mode? I don't want to take my hand off the keyboard or move the mouse.
Illustrator 15.1/CS5 on Mac used to display selected text in reverse and would show handles for text on a path. Now it does neither.
