When using the gradient mesh tool or paintbrush in Illustrator - the technique is not reflected ACCURATELY on the screen. For example when painting with a red brush - the screen shows a different color. Sometimes a different magnification will resolve the issue other times it will not.
Running MAC OS6 10.7.5 This is currently happening in Illustrator CS6 Illustrator 5.5 is also on the machine too.
I'm trying Illustrator CC 17.1 under Mac OS X 1.8.5 with Mac Pro with two monitors Apple Cinema and NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1536 MB Video Card.
Can't use it on Full Screen Mode because the hover effect use it to show tools and panels don't works o both sides and on both monitors.
Seems to be Illustrator CC don't support two monitors under full screen mode on Mac OS X.
Illustrator is not processing red properly. It is more than showing up - almost far too much saturation with only the red. If that makes sense. I am using CMYK since the work will be printed out. The color is not wrong until printed - everything seems to be fine till then. This is with both images AND work created on Illustrator. Images of people are where the problem shows up the most of course - makes them look like they are on fire from the inside out.
I am printing out images on a HPDesignjet T790 from Illustrator on a Mac - and have run all of the tests to see where the issue is coming from. Results show that it is not the printer, not the Mac, and is Illustrator.
CMYK is selected in document, as well as in Printer Menu.
I'm drawing some objects in illustrator and when I stroke it, it's clear that the color is not staying or not matching the object. I took a picture of it.. I drew a lot, but this is the first time that it is happening.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have managed to reflect objects but cannot manage to reflect one object across the Artboard to show up on the opposite side. If you see my image below, I would like to reflect the horizontal stripe at the top of the design and make it appear at the bottom of the Artboard so it finishes the design. Almost all of the work I do requires only one quarter of the design to be created, then I could just reflect it across and then reflect it down so this would be a useful piece of knowledge
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe color swatches in toolbar for fill and stroke are not functioning as they should. When I select an object on the artboard, the swatches display fine in the toolbar for what they should be. However, when I double-click on those swatches from within the toolbar to modify the color, the color which comes up is #000000 instead of the actual color it should be.
I am using 16.2.1 (cloud) for Mac OS 10.8.2
I've submitted a bug report.
Also, the eyedropper tool is buggy and occasionally places the #000000 into an object instead of the characteristics the eyedropper is selecting. I don't have any hidden layers or weird groupings, it just randomly decides when it is going to work or not.
I've never had these issues on previous versions of illustrator and have been proficient in all versions since 2007.
Sometimes when I have an object selected and I go to select a fill color for it, the object turns a corresponding shade of grey, even though I'm selecting a color from the color picker.
Other objects on the artboard have color, so it doesn't seem to be a global setting....
I am currently working on a project which requires me to run a script several times, probably over 200 times. Ive been racking my brain serveral times over and cannot figure out how to have the selected layer be renamed by its color information. Ive also tried to maybe build a new layer command into the current action I am using, but i keep having a dialog box pop up which interrupts the rest of the action.
Also, is there a way to automate an action according to a swatch. Meaning if I select a swatch can i have it perform the action and then move on to the next swatch in the list, or until the swatch list has been completed.
When I run the script for an object selection, I want each object to have its color set to the underlying color as if I had used the eyedropper tool. Is this something that can be scripted?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI create gradients all the time and i'm wondering if there's a quick way to create a gradient based on the current selected object's fill color. For example: I have selected a box with a fill color of BLUE. I go to the gradient panel and see that what the gradient will be if I click on it (that is usally based on a default gradient WHITE to BLACK, or it comes from the most recent gradiented object I touched). So I click on it and the gradient is activated with the stops being not BLUE. What i want is... if i select a box with a BLUE fill and click on gradient - it will create a gradient with both stops being the same BLUE as the fill color. This would be very convenient because instead of clicking on each stop, shift-eyedropping the the blue color from a duplicated box, it would instantly start with the blue-blue gradient for me to tweak (in the case below for a button i would make the higher stop lighter and lower stop darker).
It's somewhat useful to select an object with a gradient to "copy" that gradient, select a new object, click on the gradient panel and have this new object take on that exact gradient. But most of the time i'm not copying gradients but i'm creating new ones, and it makes more sense for me to create a gradient derived from the fill color.
Some of my artboards use the color yellow to highlight selected objects. Can I change that?

When I select the Document Library option when making a color image trace, the colors shift in the image but do not match the selected color group. I've tried multiple color groups, and the colors always change, but never match the selected swatches.

I wish this process could be recorded as an action but when I record the action "add new swatch" I have to manually input the cmyk values, which will take forever for a batch of over 600 files.
I am working on iphone case packaging that will be printed so my project is in CMYK, all settings in CMYK. The colors on my screen look correct in CMYK but when I send it to the manufacturer it is then printing in a different (similiar) color. Can this be from my screens not being calibrated to CMYK?
I did a few searches for rgb to cmyk converters and I put in the rgb color that looks correct and it spits out a CMYK color that looks far different that the CMYK colors in illustrator. I am using CS6, I could use the converter for now but I would like to see the correct colors in the future if at all possible.
Is there a way to apply a color to selected objects without having to search for the color in the color palette. So say if I am working with an image that has multiple colors but want to use only one of the colors in that image, is there a way to apply it without having to create or add it to the palette.

In some parts of the design, I purposely made the colors a bit offset. But the printer says I must use trapping. I watched a bunch of video tutorials, but none of them seem applicable to this particular kind of artwork, in which I WANT some of the background/paper to show through. But not everywhere. The user guide draws attention to the fact that the color selected for replacement must be in the image. Using the Dropper tool with sample size 1 pixel I position the dropper where I want it, see the color in the preview window, then right-click and the selected color appears in the background window on the Materials panel. So far, so good. I then place the Dropper tool over black in the swatch on the Materials panel, click and black appears in the Foreground window of the Materials panel. I think I'm set.
When I select the Color Replacer tool the background window immediately reverts to another color, usually white.Incidentally, the user guide suggests you read up on selecting colors with the Dropper; when you do this you learn that its OK to pick colors from the Materials panel.

The code then prompts the user to add additional selections once these handle selections are made. No problem. The problem lies with attempting to deselect the objects that were selected via object handles. I should say highlighted because that is what the present code is doing. i just installed the 2012 autocad on my laptop and everytime i use trim or rotate or anything else the screen just goes black and the computer freezes for a few seconds and then it comes back and tell me that its trying to adjust the program with the monitor but it never ends and it keeps doing the same thing. btw my laptop specs are: windows7 home premium, intel i5, 6gb ddr3, intel HD3000 graphics.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi bought a new laptop and as always i installed ps cs6 and other software such as indesign and illustrator. my problem is that whenever i open a jpg/png/whatever file with photoshop OR the windows default image viewer the colors appear strange and the greys are kind of "brownish". the same problem appears when i work with any file in indesign or illustrator, but the colors appear normal when i open the images with other program such as paint.

Bridge/ Photoshop Colour Issues: It appears that there are a few pictures that are noticeably dull, when I load them in Bridge and Photoshop. Those same pictures are very vibrant when I look at them directly from the SD card or load them into Picassa.
I tried editing the picture, saving it in Photoshop, then opening it up in Picassa and it has the same dullness. Since having this issue, I have updated the drivers on my Quadro graphics card, but I think it may be something to do with the way that I set up Adobe Bridge, because this is the first time I have imported a large batch of photos from Bridge. However, I pretty much left everything as the standard settings in Bridge.
FYI - I just started using the Adobe Master Collection, with Win 7 Pro 64 and Huey Pro embedded on my laptop. My colour settings are Huey Pro on my laptop, SRGB in Photoshop and General Purpose for Bridge (I haven’t had this issue before and Huey Pro has been my colour settings on my laptop since I got Adobe).
How would I add the ellipse that is reflecting down from the top?
