Sep 20, 2012I am a web designer and regularly get sent logos etc from clients. More recently I have been sent a jpg image black and white of a girl with a wedding veil on. There is some handwriting text to the left which is a white colour.
As I dont have access to the original psd file I am trying to find an easy way to change the text colour to a pink the client has chosen.
I am using adobe photoshop cs6 and have tried using the colour swap option under image tab but it just seems to change the colour to gray and not the pink i have selected.

I write a line of text. I would now like to select the text field to change the color of the text rather than highlighting the actual text itself. This is because highlighting the text changes the bg color to black over the text you highlight and alters the color of the text (I think it inverts it). Is this possible?

Jun 30, 2009So I am attempting to use a black theme on my windows pc. My Creative Suite 2 products use black text in the menus and pop-up dialogues (such as canvas size). Of course, I can no longer read the options. Is there a way to get Adobe products to use the menu fonts defined by windows, or at least to change it within the software?

Jul 24, 2013I am trying to produce a new logo for our business that has a solid Blue cloud image on a transparent background. I need to add text over this but ideally it will show as white over the cloud background but blue when its over the transparent background.
Cant simply change the color of text as its a curved edge its going over. I assume I will need to do some form of punch out but not sure how to start this.

Feb 29, 2012I' have an image that I've created using layers. I want to add text to the picture. But the text comes up grey and there seems to be no box for selecting the text color as there is say in word or other windows programs. I can only see a choice for font and size. I can't make a color window appear to give me a choice of colors. The only thing on the left of my window is the tools panel with the 22 tools in it. I don't seem to be able to use the color picker tool because I want white text and there is no white in my photo to pick on.

Feb 24, 2014I created a logo in Illustrator CS5 made of several overlapping parts, all parts have the same Pantone color, but with different intensity (I'm not sure it's called intensity, is the bar, inside the Color Palette by which you can adjust the color from white to 100% of the Pantone color of your choice). What I'm looking for is a way to change the color of all the parts at once with another Pantone with a simple click, without having to manually adjust all the intensity of every single parts again. Now, when I try, all parts changes in the new Pantone color but all are at 100%. If i change only one part at a time the percentage of intensity is observed. I know that i can do it manualy, changing every single part, but i wonder if there is a faster way that i don't know.

For some reason her previous designer didn't understand to make print material in cmyk ( I cant believe how many "designers" dont understand the difference.). I am now going back and correcting that issue so they will print accuratly. Usually I can do this in Illustrator and just go to the edit menu and then go to edit colors and choose convert to cmyk. That option is greyed out in this situation. I am attaching a screen shot. I am using illustrator cs6 on a mac running 10.7.5.

Sep 6, 2012I'm new to illustrator scripting (but not to javascript or programming. I have an AI file that has multiple layers. each layer has several items that are supposed to be of same color. I have an array of HEX values.
I would like to loop over all items in a single layer, select them and change their color to some given HEX. Once that works, I will run on all HEX entries in array and save each variation in a separate PNG file.
For the first part i wrote some script (see below), but i do not see any change in the file after i run the script. No errors and no change. I run the script once i select all items in a specific layer.

Illustrator :: CMYK Color Numbers Changing When Set To Preserve Them?
May 7, 2009I'm using CS2 on Mac OSX 10.4. Recently I tried importing a Photoshop image into Illustrator and then matching a color in Illustrator to a color in the Photoshop document. But Illustrator changed the CMYK values of the color in the Photoshop document even though I have "Preserve CMYK colors" checked in the color setup window. Both applications and files are set to SWOP v2.
I don't have the same problem when placing either Photoshop or Illustrator files into InDesign.
I ended up recreating the project in InDesign to get consistent color, but I need to know how to make Illustrator preserve color numbers for the project that will come up for which I need Illustrator features.

May 29, 2012The problem I have is I cannot change the brush to pure black; it's only dark gray and normal methods of changing the color aren't working.I went to Brushes, selected one of the Artistic_Ink brushes. (And drew a design)
I tried double clicking on it in the Brushes palette and in the "Art Brush Options" the colorization was already set to Tints. I tried all the other options but the color of the artistic brush is still dark gray; not black.
What else can I do to change the brush to pure black?
Illustrator :: Change Color Of Boxes To Global Without Changing Tint?
Dec 17, 2012We get artwork from outside agencies with color boxes like those shown (CMYK, in percentages of 30, 50 and 100). Their color names may vary, or often the colors aren't in their color palette at all. I am supposed to recolor the boxes with our standard-named, global colors in my own swatch library. Two questions:
1. Is there a way to grab the three cyan boxes (for example), and recolor them with the global Cyan swatch, WITHOUT having the %tint in all three boxes become 100%?
What I do now, over and over in each file we receive: Select the three Cyan boxes, click on the "C" global swatch in my palette, watch them all change to 100%C. Then manually click on the left cyan box and change the tint back to 30%, and for the middle box, change it back to 50%. Etc. for the other colors. This is a PITA, and it just seems like there should be a quicker way.
2. Is there way to then recolor ALL the cyan elements (strokes, fills, gradients) used in the art with the same global cyan swatch, without changing the tints?
