Photoshop :: Changing Pattern / Print On A Shirt Into Solid Color?
Mar 8, 2012
I need to know if there is a way to change a pattern/ print on a shirt into a solid color while keeping the shadow details and natural bends and wrinkles in the garment?

I have a picture of a shirt that I need to show in several color options. I figured out how to use hue/saturation to get all the colors I need except off white/natural. I can get close to the right color, but by the time I do the shirt looks all washed out.
Attached are two photos. The red shirt is what I am starting with, the white is the color I am trying to achieve. I've tried various combinations of H/S, Levels, B/C, variations and curves but can't seem to get it without losing the shadow detail. I'm using PS6.

I have a Hatch in my drawing with Pattern as Solid on the top of an image. I made it transparent and it looks really nice in my screen, but as soon as I print either in PDF or hard copy the transparency feature disappear. How is possible to print my Hatch -with Solid as Pattern- with the transparency active either in PDF and hard copy?

I am trying to change the color on my chevron pattern (a downloaded PS template I purchased off the internet.) I select my paint bucket (and choose the color to change it to) but every time I click on the pattern, it changes the color to a lighter shade of pink vs the green that I am trying to apply. It's almost like it is mixing the color VS changing it.
How would I go about changing the color completely? It is currently light pink and I want to change it to a green that I grabbed off of a diff picture (with the color picker.)

Because of the problems with wipeouts, I have switched to using some solid hatch set to colour 255. The hatch is in paperspace, sitting under titleblock and other Layout text. I am plotting to an HP1050C, using a .ctb file with 255 set with grayscale off.
The plot preview is fine, but the hatch blocks come out black on paper. I thought this was the problem with wipeouts, and that hatch didn't suffer from it.

i am having a hatching issue, it seems no matter what hatch pattern i use and what hatch scale, alot of the hatch looks solid instead of the pattern i want, for example i am using currently ANSI37 @ Annotative with a scale of .20 and on the same paperspace page one plan with the hatch shows the cross hatching and the other one below looks solid (see attached) now i can go and say change the hatch scale and it reverts to the cross hatching, but then when i zoom out it goes back to "solid" is it a graphical issue?

When printing in 3d with the vp set to 3dhidden and the shade plot set to hidden legacy some solid items print with the wire frame. This usualy happens with torus and cones. How do I stop this?
In the example look at the U-bolt.

I am trying to create logo's as blocks to insert into title blocks efficiently. I made the outline of the first logo and hatched it as a solid hoping it would print as a flat black but it is showing up as streaky, almost as if I used a different hatch at an extremely small scale. I don't think it is a printer issue because even when printed to .pdf format it still shows up as streaky.

This question revolves around the pattern stamp tool and masking out trees/shrubs. I use the patterns often because I am making 3d models of buildings from photographs. Often times there are many obstructions in the images that need to be edited out. So I usually create a texture pattern and then fill it where it needs to cover up these obstructions.
The problem I see is that there is no scaling on the pattern stamp tool. Each photo that I am editing will have a different resolution and so the original pattern stamp I created will only work on the original sampled image. There are several tricks I've come up with, such as creating a vector mask out of the selection and paint bucket filling the space with the pattern, then reducing the scale of the fill, but this method doesn't work all that well..
if there is a hidden trick to scaling the pattern stamp tool to work with?

Is there a way, in an .idw (drawing file) to create a flat view (unrolled) of a cylindrical solid? NOT to be confused with sheet metal. This is from a solid .ipt. Either that or create a flat pattern of a solid cylinder that IS NOT SHEET METAL?

I have a solid red image and I want to change that red to an exact red hex code I have. Is there a way to change this color without affecting the quality of the image? I thought this would be really easy, but everything I've found online doesn't give me the color I want, or It doesn't allow me to be 100% accurate.

I have a solid green rectangle.
I would like to create several similar green rectangles at various levels of transparency that will perfectly match the color of the solid green rectangle. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have tried matching it by eye, and can get very close:
the original solid green rectangle is R:135 G: 174 B: 155
after making a copy of the solid green rectangle, say, 90% transparent, I can play with Hue/Saturation to get around R:136 G:175 B: 154, according to the eyedropper. But I don't see any way of fine tuning the RGB/HSB/etc. absolute values in the transparent version.

I have a Hole that cuts through 2 solid bodies, a gasket and a cover plate. I want to pattern the hole in BOTH solids at the same time, but the pattern feature dialog box will only let me select one solid at a time. I could pattern the hole in one solid before projecting to the other, but the quantity of the holes can change. When the quantity of the holes changes only the holes from the initial pattern are projected. For instance if I have 10 hole initially and it increases to 12 the 2 new holes do not project to the second solid body.

I have tried this with a adadselectionset but it doesn't work.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim tSelSet As AcadSelectionSet Set tSelSet = getSelSetByLayer("Layerhatch") If tSelSet Is Nothing Then MsgBox ("No Selectionset") ElseIf tSelSet.Count = 0 Then MsgBox ("No objects found on Layer "Layerhatch") Else

On one image I used ripple texture to simulate shine on glass and it worked great. On another image, I tried to do the same thing but the texture is a small repeat pattern and doesn't look like glass at all. I tried to get the effect by changing size and hardness and pattern size of the brush but no luck. What should I do?

I do not use the sheet metal tools in IV all that often so I fully expect that I have done something completely wrong.
I have a sheet metal part that in the folded part view looks like this:
In flat pattern view (and any subsequent flat pattern drawing) it looks like this:

I'm playing around with a part that I'd like to "decorate" with embossed features or perhaps even cut-outs. The actual part, before adornments, looks like a funnel. As sketched now, I'm revolving a spline and then creating a thickened solid feature. I suppose that the variable diameter and varying cross sectional radius of my part increases the level of complexity of this task over a part that looks more like a regular cylinder. I'm hoping to learn a tecnique that will work for revolved parts with highly irregular profiles - not just plain ole cylinders.
So, what I'd like to do is emboss (negative or positive) and/or thru-cut decorative geometric or vine/flower inspired patterns into the outside face of a funnel-like part. (Pic attached.) I'm picturing some sort of pattern that might repeat around the part. (The variable diameter probably really complicates matters here.) I haven't put much effort/experimentation into this yet - pretty much because I'm a loss about where to even start.

I selected a multitude of elements to change from rigid insulation to CMU and all were the same in the fact none could be changed into model pattern. Heres what I did; I slected an element, then went to the Paint Tool selected Surface Patterns, then Pattern, then Fill Patterns but it wont let me choose model.

I am a texture designer as a hobby for an online game called Eternal Lands.
Ususally I just make my own textures, but I wanted to edit an existing texture this time. The texture is for armor called Red Dragon Armor, it has red scales on it.
I want to replace these red scales (without taking away the details such as the streaking and the scratches) with gold. I tried using "Color select" then "colorify" but it didn't come out quite right.
What is the usual method for changing the color of a section of an image if there are details and you don't want to use the "bucket fill" option?
