20 psd files with lots of text boxes. The font he's used needs to be changed. Is there a way to do this automatically, or do I need to highlight each text box and change manually?
View 1 RepliesIn our workflow, we have a few users who are doing design work on Windows installations of IinDesign CS6 (2 in WIndows 7 and 2 in Windows 8). On all four systems, we have noticed that when we open files from packaged folders that contain the Document Fonts folder, that InDesign slows to an excrutiating crawl, which makes working on the document near impossible. We've narrowed down this behavior to the AdobeFnt14.lst file that seems to be a result of InDesign opening the file using the fonts in that folder without being told to. Deleting that file will temporarily fix the problem, but InDesign recreates it when you open the corresponding document and then you have to delete it again.
We use Universal Type Cient for our font manager, but as far as I know, we didn't install any font auto activation plugins.
Other than deleting the font folder, we've not been able to figure out how to stop ID from trying to automatically load the fonts. We'd love to just turn that "feature" off so that we don't have the hassle. I'd rather have fonts missing and turn them on using our font manager, than have ID slow to an impossible crawl whenever we open archived files. How to stop ID from automatically loading fonts from a document fonts folder?

I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.
I used to be able to just open any image and my copyright info would be inserted into the file data. I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I thought i could handle it, i assume its a droplet of some sort.

Left hand side is what is was before, and right hand side is what it is right now… they’re both on crisp though… Even though the right hand side is crisp, it looks like a strong, and when I put that on strong it looks even stronger . I'm using CS5.
way to change where photoshop looks for the fonts? Its automatically looking in C:Windowsfonts or whatever, but I dont have that on ubuntu, so it cant find any fonts. I'm 'textless'. I want to change it so it looks in another folder for the fonts! is this possible?

if i need to rename or change anything in the iproperties of ipt, im doing it from the vault.my problem is that, when i change something in iproperties of an ipt thru vault, i have to open the idw to update it.
as most of the iproperties in ipt shows in the idw.
its easy to change the properties in vault. but its deleting its purpose if i have to each idw to make sure i have the updated idw.is there a code where i can open all idw and save the same file and checking to the vault automatically?

I have a drawing that draws from a .dxf template, this drawing is for a piece that travels along on a basket. Often times there's more than one "traveler" so in order for me to differentiate each traveler I added an "XX of XX" on the template, the XX's referring to the traveler number and the total travelers (i.e. 01 of 03).
Before I print out the sheet I have to replace the XX's with the real numbers then I can print it, so if theres 45 travelers i have manually click each time and then type the number in, 01 of 45, 02 of 45, 03 of 45... 45 of 45. Is there a way I can get this process automated like where I'm asked how many sheets I need then it automatically populates the sheet?

If I could have the image filename on the bottom of each image the identifying process can be made a lot less time consuming and of course negate the posibility of misidentifying the image.
In using Photoshop Elements 12, I edit a picture and save it. When I go back into the picture the file size has been shrunk drastically but I did not save it as a smaller file size.

My text box tool does not allow changing, and if a change the font in in Tool Options on the left, it changes everything to that font.

According to Julieanne you hit ctrl-s so that PS saves the HDR image and then it should show up in Lightroom. What I have found is that hitting crtrl-s saves it as a PSD file which does automatically show up in Lightroom, however Lightroom but can't read it. If I do a save-as, and select TIFF as the extension Lightroom will not automatically see the TIFF file. I have to synchronize the folder in order to have Lightroom import it.
Why would Lightroom automatically see a PSD file (that is of no use) and not see the TIFF file?
Is there a setting in PS that will change the preferences to save as a TIFF instead of a PSD file?

i made a cd cover in photoshop just fine. opened a new file and made cd labels. same fonts. very simple. but in the latter file the fonts are all pixelated--on screen and printed. what in the world could be the prob? both files are 8.5x11 tiffs. black and white. so simple yet so wrong!
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in AutoCAD 2013 to have it automatically change to a certain layer when you do common tasks. I am wondering if there is a system variable, or a routine that I could automatically load when I start AutoCAD to do this. It would also be nice that the layer would then go back to the original layer that was being used prior to the command. What are my options for doing this.
For instance when I load an xref I would like it to go on the layer; A-XREF. When I insert a block I would like it to go on the layer; 0, when I create a new dimension I would like it to go on the A-DIMS layer, when I create a hatch it would set to the layer A-WALL-PATT, when I add a leader with text it would go to A-ANNO-NOTE, etc..

When I set C to 40% and MYK to 0% the program automatically change to other values in all four columns. Is it some kind of default settings? If so, how can I change it?

I have upgraded my Elements 9 to Elements 12. I used to be able to open a raw file directly into the raw editor in Elements 9. With Elements 12 I click to open the raw file with Elements 12 but Elements opens into the basic editor with no picture opening. I then have to select Open Camera Raw from the file menu and select the photo again. The photo then opens. Is there a setting i can change so that elements 12 opens directly into the raw editor?
