In using Photoshop Elements 12, I edit a picture and save it. When I go back into the picture the file size has been shrunk drastically but I did not save it as a smaller file size.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my Elements 9 to Elements 12. I used to be able to open a raw file directly into the raw editor in Elements 9. With Elements 12 I click to open the raw file with Elements 12 but Elements opens into the basic editor with no picture opening. I then have to select Open Camera Raw from the file menu and select the photo again. The photo then opens. Is there a setting i can change so that elements 12 opens directly into the raw editor?

Originally print resoltuion was set to 240 dpi but was changed in case this was causeing a problem. CRAW v 7.4.0.137 Camera alpha 65, image size is: 6000x3376 dpi; (83.33x46.88 inch) Problem is: Currently when I edit a RAW file in CRAW and then open in pse editor image size is: 6000x3376 px; 25x14.667 inches at 240 dpi ( by ration this corresponds to:17.773x10 inch at 337.6 dpi)
I am trying to change settings so the raw file opens as: 17.776x10 and anywhere from240 to 337.6 dpi whatever works or is esiest to set.
My settings are for use in creating blue ray dvd movies and with cropping and editing printing high quality pictures for family.
Some of the thumbnails on elements 12 organizer have an error message of "File Size too Large" and are not displaying. All of the photos are jpeg file and are aound 8mb.

I scan my slides on epson perfection v700at 50mg, save in windows vista sp2 desktop folder that opens in ps7 elements. then I add camera, date, comments, etc, then save. suddenly the file size decreases considerably. the change seems algorithmic. I save as a tiff.

My font sizes are being reduced "to the closest integer" which goes to 624.14 pt. My image is only 1000px x 150px so I'm not sure where the measurement discrepancy is happening.
I noticed it first when I made a copy of a box of text and then tried to drag the text copy.
I have dozens of images to open and I need to resize them all to be 38mm wide. I don't care how tall they are, but they must be 38mm wide to fit the column widths I need them for. Is there a way to preset the size that the images open in so that they automatically open with the width resized to 38mm and the height proportionally adjusted?

When I select Find, Media type, Project, nothing appears, but there is a gray box in my grid that says "File size too large". Is this my slideshow and if so how can I recover it?

I guess it was a droplet, "when the file is opened or created then add file info from a xmp file". I still have the xmp file with all the data in but i am unsure how to implement it being automatically opened and added to the file when i create a new one? I import many languages into fixed text frames and it is a pain to keep resizing or scaling manually.
As of yet I've been unable to source any javascript or applescript that can do it. The closest has been "JET_AutoFitVertical.jsx" but this resizes the text frames.
Is it possible in Lightroom to automatically append/prepend directory names in the file path into the file name itself? Example:
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB filename.jpg (original file name)
==>
DirectoryA Sub-directoryB DirectoryA_Sub-directoryB_filename.jpg (concatenated new file name)
If this is not natively possible within Lightroom, any plug-in that delivers this functionality?
I have changed some pipe sizes in Vistas (pipe network edit), the object sizes are changed in plan & profile views except the pipe sizes in label, it appears the same sizes as before.
I tried to re apply the labels in entire plan & profile, still be the same.
When I change a dimension in one viewport the alphabetical text size in another viewport enlarges automatically (not the numerals) yet when I look at the properties it still says the right size. How can I stop this from happening?

as most of the iproperties in ipt shows in the idw.
its easy to change the properties in vault. but its deleting its purpose if i have to each idw to make sure i have the updated idw.is there a code where i can open all idw and save the same file and checking to the vault automatically?
I am wondering if there is a way to put the old save method back into the new gimp 2.7.3. I would like to be able to export to a new file format and automatically be using that file instead of the original file that I have just opened. If there is a plugin like this that would be great.

Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.

In PSP8 I opened my target, 1615 x 1066 px:
Then, following the instructions, I opened this circular mask, 450 x 450 px:
But after completing the procedure my result looks like this, with an elliptical 'see through' area instead of a circle:
If this is by design, how would I get the circular effect I want? There are simpler ways of doing it for an all black/white mask.
