I have dozens of images to open and I need to resize them all to be 38mm wide. I don't care how tall they are, but they must be 38mm wide to fit the column widths I need them for. Is there a way to preset the size that the images open in so that they automatically open with the width resized to 38mm and the height proportionally adjusted?

i have made a custom stroke width profile and want to back it up for future use i found two files called variablewidth or something but the date modified wasn't congruent to when i created the profile.
where can i find the files that contain this preset to back up?
I was curious to see if there's a way to set up Autocad (2010) to recognize when MTEXT objects are edited, and have it adjust their defined width automatically (both single- and multi-line)--versus having to click on the arrow every time to snap the text box "margin" to the actual text. I'd like to do this to keep my background masks the exact width of the text; I just hate it when the mask doesn't cover enough of the text, or when it covers more and the background is unnecessarily obscured. I'm careful about keeping things neat, but my coworkers aren't .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't believe Illustrator doesn't do this automatically. If you create a stroke profile on one side of the stroke by holding Alt/ Option while dragging with the Width Tool and then mirror the object, the stroke profile doesn't mirror accordingly. You have to go to the Stroke panel and click one of the flipping buttons for each stroke of the mirrored artwork. This makes mirroring complex artwork very time consuming. Mirroring with transform effect doesn't have this problem but this makes the usage and editing of the mirrored object difficult.
I'm just posting this before making a feature request in case I'm missing something. And to check if this problem has been already raised and the feature request made.

Im trying to create a new paper size preset in PS CS6. I was told if I went to my PS folder, I will find a folder named presets. Inside that folder there should be a text document called "New Doc Sizes.txt" but it's not there. where I might find this text file in a presets folder?
I have a C drive, but my folder for CS6 is on my D drive. I use Windows Ultimate 7 x64.
I have to use concrete hollow core slab in my project, but I was wondering, if it is possible that the hollow core slab automatically adjust itself to the width of the room. I have attached a screen-shot of the problem, where the the last hollow core slab overlap the beam. I can manually change the width of the last beam, but it would take a lot time, moreover if I change the dimension of the overlapped beam, then i have to readjust the last hollow core slab.

This machine can vary from 1200mm to 1600mm and has a couple of options to choose from for our customers.
These dimension changes are all driven by a single excel file and the options are controlled in the an IAssembly.
Some of the 2D drawings will have a variable width, in our ERP system they are marked width dependable as followed: "partnumber/1200" or "partnumber/1410" in which 1200 or 1410 is the machine width.
Is it possible to have the 2D drawings automatically update the partnumber? so if I configure my machine as a 1200mm machine it automatically changes my drawingnumber to the actual machine width?
As an ex Photoshop user, there is a facility missing from PDN (or at least I can't find it!)
In Photoshop there was a tool which allowed me to type in a width and a height and a unit of measurement, for instance, 6, 4 and inches which would give me a 6x4 ratio image. I could then drag a rectangle across my image, and the crop box would remain in the correct ratio, making for very easy cropping when preparing images to be printed.
Is there a similar way in PDN to achieve this?
I am trying to create an action for watermarking. However, I would like to be able to size my logo to be a specific % of the entire canvas size, i.e. 20% width to be a part of my action so that the logo is always proportional to the image size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using C5 Extended and have been using PS for years and suddenly I'm seeing something I haven't encountered before. My font sizes are being reduced "to the closest integer" which goes to 624.14 pt. My image is only 1000px x 150px so I'm not sure where the measurement discrepancy is happening.
I noticed it first when I made a copy of a box of text and then tried to drag the text copy.
In using Photoshop Elements 12, I edit a picture and save it. When I go back into the picture the file size has been shrunk drastically but I did not save it as a smaller file size.

When I click on file>new I put in those dimensions, but when I am done with pic and I export it, the picture shrinks to very small. The only way around this is to maximize the image in Gimp to 100% and use my snipping tool to outline the image, then "save as". This will save it large, but not the size I need.
My brothers and I took some pics and I added a couple things in one of mine, to try to fake them out. If the size of THAT image is way different than the rest, the fake out will not work. I normally use Faststone to re-size my images but it will not re-size my Gimp images.

I import many languages into fixed text frames and it is a pain to keep resizing or scaling manually.
As of yet I've been unable to source any javascript or applescript that can do it. The closest has been "JET_AutoFitVertical.jsx" but this resizes the text frames.
I'm having an issue where I'm creating a white border around two landscape oriented images that are the same exact size then doubling the width of the canvas. I've never had this issue before with PS CS6.. I tried resetting the photography workspace but no luck. I tried with two portrait oriented images and the same result. I've restarted my machine. I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64bit and I'm running PS CS6 64bit as well. Thought to do a repair through Programs and Features but there is only the option to uninstall. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary except use an action a few days ago I downloaded and used from

and I downloaded and used the press print action.
How I can correct this? If an image is 20 inches wide and I'm doubling it to 40 it's tripling the width to 60 inches. Is there a way I can reset every aspect of PS CS6 to get back to a factory state other than uninstalling and reinstalling?
I want to have a Blank size custom iproperty using flat extents length and width this is what i did but gives error is there a way to get this to work the way I want it to? I dont want a Length and width to be seperated would like it all in one.

I have changed some pipe sizes in Vistas (pipe network edit), the object sizes are changed in plan & profile views except the pipe sizes in label, it appears the same sizes as before.
I tried to re apply the labels in entire plan & profile, still be the same.
When I change a dimension in one viewport the alphabetical text size in another viewport enlarges automatically (not the numerals) yet when I look at the properties it still says the right size. How can I stop this from happening?

But after completing the procedure my result looks like this, with an elliptical 'see through' area instead of a circle:
If this is by design, how would I get the circular effect I want? There are simpler ways of doing it for an all black/white mask.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with the spacing of my text when I import a .rtf file. The spaces change width based on the width of the columns. The problem does not effect all the paragraphs only select ones. If I change the width of the column the spacing of the text will fix itself. All of the text is the same text style. I have attached a copy for reference.
