since my eyes aren't what they used to be, I would like to enlarge the size of all the tools and selections on the Photoshop workspace......I'm using CS6.
View 1 RepliesHow do I click and drag the corner of an image to enlarge it beyond the edit workspace? Using the Navigator, I can enlarge the image, but am only able to view part of the image in the workspace, not the entire thing. When editing, I need to see the entire photo and its edges. I could do this in the earlier versions, but not 10. What am I doing wrong? I am a former user of photoshop 7, elements 8.Â
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a difficult selections of this team. they are on a white background (with a few shadows). Please excuse the watermark, but I promised the photographer I would use it. I used the magnetic lasso for this selection.
I tried to make a mask using Deke's example from lynda.com. Using levels and painting with white and black in overlay mode. That worked pretty good for the hair, but not so good for the rest.
I would like to use the pen tool for the bodies and the other way (not sure of the name) to use the hair.
How can i stop my selections from disappearing, so that i make effects in those areas?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to clone something. The brush size is so tiny, you can't see it. I choose a large brush, up the diameter to 3000 and it doesn't change, stays a pinpoint.
This seems to happen sometimes, other times it doesn't.
I have this picture which was low res when I started working with and it looks horrible when I enlage it. I need to smooth the edges and enlarge it by 5 times it's size.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I drag a photo file to Photoshop, it opens in a size significantly smaller than the workspace. (This is especially true with vertical [portrait] photos.) Therefore, every time I open a photo (and I do this typically hundreds of times a day...), I have to drag the lower right corner way out to enlarge the frame, and then I have to scroll the mouse wheel to make the picture expand to (approximately) fill the frame. Only then can I see it well enough to make the required ajustments to the file. Isn't there a way to tell Photoshop how large I want the photos to appear in the workspace, so it opens every new photo file to the same size? I am using Photoshop CS (not CS2 or CS3).

I split my most used tools into two floating palettes configured in double rows, one for drawing tools and one for photo tools. I turned of the tool bar and parked my two custom palettes on the left in its place. I've done away with the flyouts and I always use the mouse to zoom and pan so I didn't need those tools. Web design tools I keep up top along with a few custom buttons for things like toggling the rulers and the handy wrench for bringing up the options palette. Now I just have to try and remember where I put everything
Anyway to get set ups to include some of the new tools? Do you customize your workspace? which buttons from the button palette do find most useful? As I already mentioned I always add the wrench for one click access to the options. I also add the convert to editable shapes button. Here is a screenshot of my new set up. (My galleries aren't missing I have a second monitor and I keep the galleries stashed on there.)
When i enlarge the size of an image (using free transform, or scale) in photoshop CS2, the resized image gets blurred (or smudged) as soon as i've accept the larger size. How can i prevent this from happening? I'm trying to work with few pixels, and when it smudges the edges i get tons of colors i don't want.

When I try to change the size of my canvas on screen (zoom in or out) but don't want to take the time to select the magnifying glass tool, I typically just type a percentage in the small percentage box lower left corner of my canvas.Sometimes this works fine. Sometimes it doesn't and it actually changes the opacity of whatever layer I'm on instead?? I don't want it to serve this function. I can change opacity in my layers pallette. How can I turn this function off?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fill a selection in one picture with a selection from another picture. I am having problems scaling the selection to fit exactly. i still have an outline from the other (previous) selection.
I opened both images up side by side, Adjusted the view on both to 33%, made my first selection, hit control + c, made my selection on the other picture (Exact same shape), hit control + v + shift, then edit>transform>scale, then shift+drag.
Can't get it to line up. I also tried layering the two images then reducing the opacity of just the selection, but photoshop reduces the opacity of the entire layer instead of just the selection,

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the brush, eraser, or any other similar tool in Photoshop CS5, and use the [ or ] key to change the brush size, Photoshop will more often than not switch back to the previous tool I was using. The same thing will sometimes happen when I use 0-9 to change the opacity. It's a bit annoying and totally arbitrary when it happens, is there any way to turn this function off?
Similarly, pressing "e" to use the eraser tool will sometimes pull down the edit menu. I thought maybe there might be a correlation between pressing and holding the key, but it seems to be completely random. It will usually happen at least 20-30 times off and on while I'm working. My housemate never seems to encounter these problems in her version of Photoshop; I'm not sure if it's CS5 or CS6 she's using.
Where do I find how to change the workspace border size and color? I see no such options in TOOLS >Options > etc.

This is very annoying since it overlaps pieces of my black&white images distracting me. Is there any way to disable it?
I'm having an issue when I go back and forth between my paint brush tool and my eraser tool. Ever since I got 2.8 installed, the brush size is the same for all tools. When I had 2.6, if I was working with my paint brush and had it at a small brush size, then turned my pen over to the eraser and I would have that tool's brush size to be much bigger. I wouldn't have to keep on adjusting the size every time I flipped my pen. Ever since I got 2.8, I've had to keep on adjusting the brush size because the brush size stays the same, and doens't stay set for each tool. I'm using windows 7, am using an intous4 tablet and pen, had installed the latest wacom update, the latest gimp obviously with what I believe to be the binary and source code.

There seems to be way too many tools in the tools panel for me. Many of them I will rarely, if ever use. Is there any way I can rearrange or remove some of them? It would unclutter the screen immensely.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a hi-res tiff image (5031x3579 px) which I need to use as a background on a very large print (2500 mm x2500 mm, 300 dpi). I placed the original image in InDesign and had to enlarge it by approx 800% to fit the canvas. Effective dpi ended up at 35dpi. This, no suprise, looks **** when viewed at 50-100%, so I thought maybe it would be better to resize the image in photoshop before placing it in InDesign. Well, I did do that and ended up with an image with a huge filesize (2,5 Gb) before saving it as a tiff again. I noticed that many of the save as options didn't come up, only tiff, Large image format and native PS. I still dont know what the final file size will be... still waiting for it to finish processing.

The method I used for enlargement was: Image size -> resample - bicubic smoother (best for enlargement) - in three steps, 200% up - 200% up - 150% up.

What is the best way using photoshop CS6? I know I will loose quality, but want to minimize the apparent loss the best way.
