Photoshop :: CS6 Crashes Constantly When Selecting Tools Or Saving?
May 29, 2012
my CS6 keeps crashing constantly. Sometimes it's after I click a tooltip, sometimes it's when I save, sometimes it's when I use a keyboard shortcut. I get the same crash report every time:
Â

CS 6, just updated.Running on an iMac 3.4 ghz Intel Core i7, 16 g ram, tones of scratch disc.PS opens and I can do the work but when I save and move on to something else, it crashes everytime. I have sent 7 crash reports to Adobe today.
Photoshop CS6 is extremely unstable for me when I try and do any 3D editing. It crashes when I try to move, scale, and otherwise orient the object. It crashes when I try to do Snap to Ground Plane. When it doesn't crash at Snap to Ground Plane, the command doesn't work and nothing snaps to the ground plane. Â Here's a 1 minute video of it crashing. The first part shows that I've already defined the ground plane. The second part shows me wanting to put a peice of furniture into the room and finding the Snap to Ground Plane option. When I click it, the program crashes. Â [URL] Â I already have the latest drivers for my HD 5650, and I can't upgrade my video card because it's a laptop. Â Any options short of spending $1000+ to get a new video card? Â Screenshots of my preferences - if I disable the use of my graphics processor I no longer have any 3D functionality in Photoshop, if I set my drawing mode to Advanced and place checkmarks on things it crashes as well: Â [URL] Â Â System Info: Â Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x32 Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Version: 6.1 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:5, Stepping:5 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading
our photoshop cs6 (with latest update to 13.0.4) keeps crashing daily and is not stable at all. so we would work with cs 5 again, as this version is very stable and wont crash even once in a year.  we are daily/"9-5" working at a photographers´ studio and use 2 different macs:  - brand new mac pro 6-core (2010/Westmere) with 48GB RAM under system 10.8.3 - old mac pro with Two 2.66 GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" from 2006 with 16GB RAM under system 10.7.6 (both with standard equipped/shipped graphics cards)  cs6 crashes daily whith following tasks: - frequent crashs: using "motion blur" - frequent crashs: using "refine edge" - sometimes using "transform tool"  during our tests, we found out, that "disable graphics card" (photoshop>settings>performance) in the mac pro from 2006, would prevent a crash, when using "refine edge". in the latest mac pro from 2010, we did not find any solution to prevent a crash.  a "crash", we define as follows: during the mentioned tasks, photoshop is gone from the screen in the blink of second, and an osx sign appears "photoshop has crashed"..
I noticed sometimes, well more often now when I go to save for the web and hit the "save" button to select my directory it will automatically try to save the image as .html instead of .jpg which is already selected? 7.0 bug? It is very rare this happens but it is becoming more frequent now.
I have been experiencing constant crashes to the desktop using a fresh install of CS6 while attempting to use the text tool. Â My other problem is that photoshop does not seem to detect my graphics card, it says "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" and I cannot access any of the GPU options. Â I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop. I have the latest drivers for my graphics card. Â My setup: Â 3570k 7950 8gb 1680x1050 + 1024x768 Windows 7 64bit
I installed x4 the other day and it appeared to work fine. I have a Sony HD camcorder that I believe is AVCHD. I have been using and importing clips from this camera. I got the notice that an update was available and I updated the program. Since then, every time I try to edit a movie it constantly crashes. I try to import some music, it crashes. I came to the conclusion that it was the update causing it so I restored my computer to the day before I updated. It still crashes.
I am running Civil 3D 2012 and my Hydraflow crashes everytime I run an analysis. I am using a known Q and have input pipe inverts/slopes and pipe sizes. Everytime I try running an analysis I get the following message: Line 1, 2, 3 has no flow. Check pipe size(s) and slope(s). Then the program closes up.
This happens almost evertime I go to a .ipn to update changes and save. It freezes w/ no cahnce of coming back. Two other things that is troubling me about the .ipn is that sometimes it will rearange itself w/ all the parts at 0,0,0 and or won't let me ballon any parts. After closing the file and opening it again it either does the same exact thing or takes the balloons but throws the pick points of into space......

So we have inherited files from another company and there are some files which have begun crashing once the save command is initiated. Typically, the file seems to be saving for about 5-10 minutes, and then it gives a "FATAL ERROR: Cannot write to undo file (probably disk full)" alert. This obviously crashes the application without saving the file. The files that crash are the sheet files into which we have multiple xrefs which are overlays, not attachments. There are 4 xrefs in these files. I don't see why this would be a reason for the application crashing, but it's all I can think of that may be the problem.Â
After loading a photo and creating a new layer so that I can make adjustments I don't seem to be able to select a tool eg a brush. Every time I move the cursor into the photo it returns to being the little hand icon and therefore won't let me paint (or do anything to the photo.
Starting a few weeks ago Photoshop CS6 crashes every time when selecting the print command with the error : "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working" This happens using different printers and when printing anything, including a blank page. Printing works fine from other applications.
Running Photoshop CS6 v.13.1.2 x32 on Windows 7 Professional 64bit
This is a Dell Optiplex 990, I7 3.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD system, AMD ATI RADEON HD 6350 PCIe Video Card on a 16x bus  1) Photoshop has been updated 2) OS has been updated 3) Video drivers have been updated with new ones from the manufacturer 4) I tried new drivers for our Kyocera TaskAlfa 3550ci 5) I tried new drivers for our Kyocera FS-3140MFP 6) I also tried removing all of the printers except "Adobe PDF" printer
Here is an example event from the Windows Application Log after photoshop crashed.
Using Autocad 2013 I'm having this massive slow down when I choose a tool such as trim. All I have to do is select the trim (or chamfer etc) button for example and it's as though I get a framerate of about 5. I've never had a problem in 2012.
Rough pc specs: win7 x64 8gb ram i3-2100 3.1ghz amd radeon hd 6700 (latest drivers installed)
The pc specs are fine - perhaps an issue with the graphic card?
Photoshop Elements 10 - Group Shot Crashes after I select the option from the menu. I am using Windows XP. Is there a workaround or is there a way to fix this?Â
I select the Text tool (Gimp 2.8) and then I double click to bring up the box that allows me to choose the Font I require. When I use the up and down arrow to find the font that I require GIMP shuts down. It also happens if I don't use the button but use the slider. If I don't save any work before I select the Text tool I lose everything.
finally deduced it was when I clicked a video for flagging. I removed the videos from the catalog but that defeats the purpose. I tried the ui.dll and did rename the ui.dll.old file. I unstalled and reinstalled LR5 and update to 5.3. Its working now but like I said I removed the video.  issue was when I put in the ui.dll then LR would not even open up so effectively I did not do the ui.dll because I couldnt,. I did it successfully for lr3 when I had the edit/flagging crashes without issue this is weird.Â
Like the title says, every time I click on "Slideshow", LR5 crashes - immediately (it does start to set up the screen for this module, but never completes). I tried LR4.4 and it works fine. I recently upgraded (about 3 weeks ago) to LR5 from 4.4, and I haven't had any significant problems otherwise.
I upgraded to Lightroom 4.1 a few months ago and since then have been battling with incredibly slow spot removal tool, slow changes between tools and modules, and a big time lag in using the slider adjustments. I use Lightroom for Portrait photography work and it is incredibly frustrating. I feel like my workflow is half the speed it used to be because of all the wait time. Once I select an area for the spot removal, for example, I can wait about 2-4 seconds for it to work. I find that this lag is shorted when I first open Lightroom and begin using it, but the lag time quickly increases as the hours literally drag by. Are other people having these issues after upgrading to Lightroom 4?
I recently upgraded to CS4, and am having a problem saving a flattened .psd file to .jpg (saving to any other format works just fine). When I try to save as a .jpg (RGB, 8-bit), the program partially locks up, and no .jpg file is created. The File menu has only two or three options, including Close and Open As, but I cannot actually select these options. All other menu options are grayed out; no tools work. I cannot quit Photoshop in this state without using Task Manager.
my corel crashing every time I try to select the color palette menu in the window dropdown, try to change the palette in the solid fill color window, and also in the outline color window. I have tried changing the color preset, reinstalling, resetting to defaults, am updated to the newest version (15.2.0.686), installing the hot fixes, blah, blah blah....... everything.
3 out of every 4 times I select a hatch, to edit properties or delete, AutoCAD gives me the FATAL ERROR message and cannot continue. It is not just in one file, but in any file from what I can tell. Not just imported hatches either, AutoCAD standard hatches as well. I have reinstalled, downloaded whatever service pack I could find. This is so harmful to productivity.
When hitting saving for web and devices, Photoshop starts to render images but before it's done, it crashes. I get an error-popup with no text and the screen where normally the animation is shown is red. Then Windows comes with a crash report and I can only quit Photoshop. I have an animation of over 150 frames, but just some black and white lines, no color. I'm using Photoshop CS 5.5 on Win7. Â I tried deleting the preferences in AppData/Roaming etc, but no result, still crashes. My Photoshop is also updated to the latest version.
I am using a Mac retina display with OSX version 10.8.5. It has an internal flash/solid state drive. I am a member of Adobe CC. Since I installed the latest Photoshop update (14.1.2, x64), my Photoshop crashes when I try to save (command+S) a .psd file.
Using Report manager - Toolbox editor panorama I create a new parcel tool, in this case an xslt type, set up and can run it by right clicking the new tool while still in the panorama box. When I save it using the disk icon at the top of the page it does not show up in the Reports Manager toolbox. I refresh both boxes and still have a no show. Get out of the editor and still nada in the toolbox. I'm using C3D 2012 sp2 Win 7 64 bit. This report and setup acts correctly on a sister machine (32bit) C3D 2012 sp2 Win XP sp3.
I'm using Max2011 64bit SP1 under win 7.I have modelled a scene with about 100.000vertices so not too much and shaded it with a few standart materials and a few material libs I downloaded. now max crashes sometimes while saving a scene... and makes that file corrupt! but it doesn't happen everytime just sometimes and the most time if the animation curves are opened and i animated something!
