Lightroom :: Importing 2 Different Catalogs To New 5?
Aug 16, 2013One catalog is in LR 4 (called catalog B) on Ext HD F, and one is in Carbonite waiting to be restored (had an ext HD failure on Ext HD E, catalog A). I want to put these on a new 4TB external hard drive and in one catalog called A on my just purchased Lightroom 5 upgrade from 4. How do I do this without screwing up?

Apr 17, 2012I have images that I export as a catalog from my notebook and external drive to my desktop . Did this all the time before the release candidate 4.1 without a hint of problems. With 4.1, it crashes 90% of the time....average export/import of a catalog I am running is about 3000 images. What is particularly wierd is that it crashes on multiples of 500. Normally first crash is at 500, the next at 1000 or 1500 and so forth.

Possible to import "configured" publish service plug-ins between separate lightroom 4.1 catalogs? Example I have a Flickr publish service setup in one catalog for landscape/macro/general photos and then I have a separate catalog for model photos. I don't want to continue to re-create the publish service in each of my new catalogs. The plug-in themselves do show up in all catalogs, but not their configuration.

Jan 29, 2013CS 6, just updated.Running on an iMac 3.4 ghz Intel Core i7, 16 g ram, tones of scratch disc.PS opens and I can do the work but when I save and move on to something else, it crashes everytime. I have sent 7 crash reports to Adobe today.

Sep 19, 2011I installed x4 the other day and it appeared to work fine. I have a Sony HD camcorder that I believe is AVCHD. I have been using and importing clips from this camera. I got the notice that an update was available and I updated the program. Since then, every time I try to edit a movie it constantly crashes. I try to import some music, it crashes. I came to the conclusion that it was the update causing it so I restored my computer to the day before I updated. It still crashes.

May 29, 2012Photoshop CS6 is extremely unstable for me when I try and do any 3D editing. It crashes when I try to move, scale, and otherwise orient the object. It crashes when I try to do Snap to Ground Plane. When it doesn't crash at Snap to Ground Plane, the command doesn't work and nothing snaps to the ground plane.
Here's a 1 minute video of it crashing. The first part shows that I've already defined the ground plane. The second part shows me wanting to put a peice of furniture into the room and finding the Snap to Ground Plane option. When I click it, the program crashes.

I already have the latest drivers for my HD 5650, and I can't upgrade my video card because it's a laptop.
Any options short of spending $1000+ to get a new video card?

Photoshop :: CS6 Crashes Constantly On 2 Very Different Macs But CS5 Running Very Stable?
May 31, 2013our photoshop cs6 (with latest update to 13.0.4) keeps crashing daily and is not stable at all. so we would work with cs 5 again, as this version is very stable and wont crash even once in a year.
we are daily/"9-5" working at a photographers´ studio and use 2 different macs:
- brand new mac pro 6-core (2010/Westmere) with 48GB RAM under system 10.8.3
- old mac pro with Two 2.66 GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" from 2006 with 16GB RAM under system 10.7.6
(both with standard equipped/shipped graphics cards)
cs6 crashes daily whith following tasks:
- frequent crashs: using "motion blur"
- frequent crashs: using "refine edge"
- sometimes using "transform tool"
during our tests, we found out, that "disable graphics card" (photoshop>settings>performance) in the mac pro from 2006, would prevent a crash, when using "refine edge". in the latest mac pro from 2010, we did not find any solution to prevent a crash.
a "crash", we define as follows: during the mentioned tasks, photoshop is gone from the screen in the blink of second, and an osx sign appears "photoshop has crashed"..
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2012 / Hydraflow Constantly Crashes
Feb 11, 2013I am running Civil 3D 2012 and my Hydraflow crashes everytime I run an analysis. I am using a known Q and have input pipe inverts/slopes and pipe sizes. Everytime I try running an analysis I get the following message: Line 1, 2, 3 has no flow. Check pipe size(s) and slope(s). Then the program closes up.

Dec 15, 2012I'm using Lightroom 1. I tried to merge catalogs by importing a catalog into a master catalog, but there were some problems. The one I noticed immediately was that the collections are not correct. It imported the collections, but for example one collection now has only 4 photos when the originbal had 140? How can I fix that? (Although not necessariy a problem, it seems to have the wrong number of photos imported too. It says the previous import was 3175 photos when it was more like 10,000.)

Mar 5, 2014i am a photographer who shoots on the road and has a digital tech/retoucher that is away from the location. with lightroom 5, i was excited to export my catalogs with smart previews at a fraction of the size to send out to the digi tech for editing. the plan was for him/her to then send back only the catalog files which i could apply to the original master files and export finals for the client. i assume this is possible, but am having trouble dialing in the workflow.

I normally import as standard previews because this improves speed whilst working on them. I have just ticked the smart preview box for a couple of files that I thought I might want to work on after transferring them to my externsl drive and it crashed when set with standard, OK with minimal, I am now wondering if in fact the smart previews are the previews it works on and that by setting it to standard as well it has confused the program and that is why it crashed, but then why have the option of both or is it simply a computer resources issue trying to create both standard and smart previews.

Sep 17, 2012I have been experiencing constant crashes to the desktop using a fresh install of CS6 while attempting to use the text tool.
My other problem is that photoshop does not seem to detect my graphics card, it says "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" and I cannot access any of the GPU options.
I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop. I have the latest drivers for my graphics card.

Oct 31, 2012I am having PSE 11 "stop working " when launched. Seems to be related to corrupt catalogs. If I delete the catalog, then I am able to open up the Organizer. However, when I build a new catalog, it oftens crashes. I have disabled all the analyzer functions but keeps recurring. I have been successful in building a small catalog consisting of approximately 400 JPGs. However, larger catalogs aren't successful.

Aug 10, 2013After two days I finally got my images into Lightroom.
But everytime I go to a folder, Lightroom rebuilds the thumbnails, even if I have just been to that folder. As I scroll down the thumbnails, Lightroom lags as I see thumbnails appear and come into focus again, even afer I have been in that folder several times. I have NOT changed the size of the thumbnails.
My hard drive is constatly grinding when in Lightroom. Also, most of these images are JPGs and not RAW.
PC Specs:
Windows 7i5 Processor, 6GB RAM
1GB HDD, .5GB free

Apr 21, 2013Going back to look for photos in LR is very tedious due to this error. I fully expect this error to occur multiple times while locating a past photo. I have to do it in steps by closing LR often, and reopening it so I don't have to start at the beginning of the search when this error occurs. LR does not write a current position to disk until closed (it should write current), which means it forgets where I was after this error.
My photos are in directories by year/date. Expanding a year to find a photo is like fully expecting this error to occur. My preferred import arrangement is year/date (to minimize the length of any one physical file list based in the way I shoot). I don't know if it's the arrangement, but this errors a LOT. I am on V4.4, and this error has been occurring for as long as I can remember. The product testers are obviously not running into this error since it isn't getting fixed. I don't think they test the left pane very well for the various directory schemes that a user can come up with.
My catalog previews were recently rebuilt. The catalog is around 5gb and contains all my photos. I am using SSDs for the LR user files, catalog, raw cache, and previews. Only the actual photos are on spinners.
3ds Max :: Crashes While Importing FBX File
Jul 11, 2011I have 3ds max 2012 and every time I try to import an FBX file, the file loads all textures and the object, (the scene is just one character with textures) but soon after the object loads the application says "Not Responding" and in order to fix this I have to restart 3DS max. All I want to do is load the object in 3DS Max to add bones but I cant do that because it wont load.

3ds Max :: Exporting / Importing Object Into F.E.A.R
Feb 28, 2011I'm using 3ds Max 2010. I'm trying to export my object and import it into a program called, F.E.A.R Public Tools. ( This is used for making levels for a game called, F.E.A.R. ) Anyhow, I click the little 'Hammer' tool and it brings up another list called, 'Utilities' and in that list should be an option called, FEAR Panel.. But I do not see such a thing. I need to export my object and import it into my F.E.A.R. World Edit ( Which is where you actually create the levels, etc. There is a tutorial which shows you what you need to do and I've done exactly that, but it's not working for me for some reason.

Apr 8, 2012I'm trying to synchronize my folders, and LR4 is consistently crashing when it attempts to display the "Import Results" window. This is on Win7 Pro, using LR4 64-bit. A portion of the pix being imported are successfully stored in the catalog, and the remainder are not. When I restart LR and attempt to synchronize again, the process repeats: find the new pictures (the ones that weren't stored in the previous attempt), start importing them, reach apparent 100%, start to display "Import Results" window and immediately crash.
I'd like to reach the point at which no pix remain to be imported.

Mar 17, 2011We have X5 installed on four computers at work and on two of the machines (including mine) X5 will crash everytime (100%) when trying to export to jpg. It does not even get as far as a dialog box its just crashes straight away. I it does this everytime on two comuters without fail.
Is there a way of viewing an error report? Or what would I have to do to file one?
I can export to other formats just fine, it only seems to be JPG....

Photoshop :: CS2 Crashes When Importing With Mustek A3 Scanner?
Nov 7, 2012I have an old version of Photoshop. When I got my new Macbook a year or 2 ago I was only able to scan via TWAIN using Photoshop CS2, and it has been the best way.However, lately the scanning has been buggy. I've had no problems using PS as a whole, but sometimes when I got to Import < ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 Pro it'll scan halfway and crash, or the program will just outright crash. Today I've spent about 2 hours just trying to scan one image. It managed to work once, and now it crashes every time I try scanning.
These are the specs of what I'm using:
Mac OSX 10.6.7
Photoshop CS2
Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Pro
I need to use this scanner daily for work - If I can't get these images scanned then I don't get paid!
