I am trying import photos from a usb drive (my flash card from the camera) and lr crashes. I access the file --> import menu and lr stops.
This is the error message that is found in the event viewer.

I have 3ds max 2012 and every time I try to import an FBX file, the file loads all textures and the object, (the scene is just one character with textures) but soon after the object loads the application says "Not Responding" and in order to fix this I have to restart 3DS max. All I want to do is load the object in 3DS Max to add bones but I cant do that because it wont load.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI understood that Lightroom does not use smart previews as previews in most cases and still uses previews as before for working on. I normally import as standard previews because this improves speed whilst working on them. I have just ticked the smart preview box for a couple of files that I thought I might want to work on after transferring them to my externsl drive and it crashed when set with standard, OK with minimal, I am now wondering if in fact the smart previews are the previews it works on and that by setting it to standard as well it has confused the program and that is why it crashed, but then why have the option of both or is it simply a computer resources issue trying to create both standard and smart previews.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnytime I try to export a file and add a watermark, Lightroom crashes. I can export without adding a watermark just fine. Lightroom also crashes when I try to edit a current watermark - as soon as I click the drop down menu to choose which watermark to edit, down goes Lightroom. I have both text watermarks and a small jpeg as a watermark (same thing happens with both) and I am running Lightroom 4.3.

The files are imported without the settings and get set to adobe standard in my camera calibration. I use lightroom 4 with cs5 64 bit.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI shoot raw + JPG and wish that LR 5 had an option not to import JPG when there is a same-named raw file. Lacking that, are there suggestions perhaps for Windows utilities that would do the following (I am on Win7 64-bit with LR 5.2):
I delete all the JPG images before proceeding. That's easy enough; in Windows Explorer, one can sort by type, then delete all the JPGs, or one could open up a command prompt in the directory and "erase *.jpg". But there's a complication; in some modes of the camera, no raw file is generated. In those cases, I just have one .jpg that I want to keep. Here is an example:

img1.jpg
img2.cr2
img2.jpg
img3.jpg
img4.cr2
img4.jpg
I want to process this directory and end up with one file of each filename, as follows, before doing my import:
img1.cr2
img2.cr2
img3.jpg
img4.cr2
The pseudocode would go something like this:
Sort files by filename fname
IF fname.jpg and fname.cr2 both exist THEN delete fname.jpg
How can I easily do this?
Despite the LR folder being connected to the right folder on my Drobo which contains all the photos
I am importing photos from an Aperture export (NEF file with XML side car). The folder contained 400 photos. 200 imported correctly and 200 were blank! I deleted the blank photos with a view to reimporting them. I also deleted the folder in LR and on my Drobo to ensure the photos would not be considered duplicates. I then reimported the photos the same way I have done the others only to end up with blanks once again but this time with question marks in the top right corner.
I have, of course, uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, along with computer reboots each time. It is still trying to find this file. I even attempted to find and replace the file so it could find it, but nothing seems to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. I saw an item that suggested going into Explorer and clicking "show hidden files and folders": I clicked that and then restarted the computer. No change in behavior.
I've left the import up for more than 5 minutes (someone mentioned that LR4 is slow): I never got the import done.
When I click the "X" at the end of the import thermometer, I get a message (in that location) that the import is canceled. The display in the main window (where the image would appear) still says "importing files". I have to quit LR4 and start it up again to do anything else.
I was previously using LR3.6, that used to work fine. I tried going back to LR3.6 to import some files I recently shot: now LR3.6 does the same thing as LR4 (hangs when I try to import Nikon Electronic Format files).
I've created a number of presets for renaming files when importing into Lightroom 4.4. How do I get rid of presets that I no longer want?

When I got my new Macbook a year or 2 ago I was only able to scan via TWAIN using Photoshop CS2, and it has been the best way.However, lately the scanning has been buggy. I've had no problems using PS as a whole, but sometimes when I got to Import < ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 Pro it'll scan halfway and crash, or the program will just outright crash. Today I've spent about 2 hours just trying to scan one image. It managed to work once, and now it crashes every time I try scanning.
These are the specs of what I'm using:
Mac OSX 10.6.7
Photoshop CS2
Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Pro
I need to use this scanner daily for work - If I can't get these images scanned then I don't get paid!

Each time I make an attempt to import video frames to layers, I get as far as the "select range to import" screen, and then when I select the range and click ok, it says "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." And then it closes.
My operating system is Windows XP, the photoshop type I use is CS3 as I mentioned before, and I have installed Quicktime 7.3.5.I checked one of the files I tried to use with the Mediainfo program as suggested, and got the following:

When I import my collection of images and videos using "Import / From file and folders...", Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer crashes when importing one of my .m2ts files. When I debug it I get:

Is there a way for me to import m2ts files successfully? If not, then is there a way to skip importing these files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm trying to create a repeat pattern of a Balloon illustration I've done in Adobe Illustrator. I've got the singular file (balloon.ai), which weighs in at around 700MB.
Now I'm trying to create the repeat of this pattern on a separate Artboard which will repeat these balloons, 30 balloons per repeat square to be precise.
What would be the best way to import these separate balloons into the repeat square once (as they're the same file) without affecting the weight of the file and performance of Illustrator?
So, in essence, is there a way to import that balloon.ai file and only have it use up 700MB on the page rather than 30x700MB by the time I've placed 30 balloons?
I can't rasterize the files as the printer needs the raw file.
I am having problem convertin this SLDPRT file to inventor.
I am currently using 2012. I tried importing the file but nothing shows up when I import it. All I get is this translation report with error.

I've already run into my first problem where when I looked up ho to import a revit file into 3ds max it must be saved as an FBX file. However when I export to FBX from Revit, 3ds Max will not import the file. The file doesn't actually even show up when I try to import.
The picture shows this with the file viewer on the right showing two FBX files in the "import" folder while 3ds Max is showing no items in the "import" folder.
When I go to open a file (any file, jpeg, psd, tif) Photoshop CC launches and begins the process of starting up. The file image appears for a brief moment then the program closes (aka crashes) and that's it. I then try CS6 and it opens the file just fine.

I am having trouble opening an EPS file in Photoshop CS5. Previously, PS wasn't opening at all, but I cleaned up my fonts and I can now open some files. Recently, my graphics card stopped working, so I've been forced to use an onboard GPU until I can get the money to buy a new one. The problem though, is that the onboard GPU is VERY old (approximately 6 or so years), and every time I try to save something in photoshop CS5, the program crashes without even giving me an error message. Does the graphics card even have anything to do with it?

I have tried uninstalling my CS5 Photoshop to 12.0.4 and trashed my preference files, but Photoshop keeps crashing when I open a PSD file. Older PSD files would open, but if I had edited it when I reopen the file it would crash Photoshop.
I have not had any problems with the program up till this week, I don't have any extra plug-ins other than what came with the program.
