Photoshop :: Cannot Get Oilpaint Filter To Work
Nov 8, 2013I own CS6 and just downloaded the Photoshop CC trial version. I cannot get the oilpaint filter to work in either. I must be missing something. When I open a photo, select filters and then oilpaint - all I get is the grey screen (with the oilpaint tools). But no photo is there for me to apply the filter effect.

Sep 16, 2013Yesterday this was working; today it's not. When I try to process multiple files I get this error message: "Could not complete the Process Mulitple Files command because the disk is not available."
I'm on a Mac - 10.6.8. The disk is not full. I am trying to convert Open TIF files to JPGS. And like I said, this was working for me yesterday.
Here's what I've tried as far as troubleshooting:
1. Going to your username>library>preferences and deleting:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 10settings
repair permissions and try again.
2. restarting the editor while holding down command+shift+option, keeping the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. I did.
3. restarting the computer
4. shortening the file names
5. moving the destination file
Still no success.

All updates to Photoshop were installed last time I ran it with no problems.No new hardware has been installed since.Installed Classic Shell since last use, so I uninstalled it but the error persists.Installed Diet Tracker but they don't interfere with each on on the system at home so I know there's no problem there.Nothing else installed except Windows updates.I tried restoring back to the last time I used it still got the error, so undid the restore.I tried repairing Photoshop .no change.I uninstalled Photoshop, rebooted, installed Photoshop. it loaded slower then and the last thing I saw load was plugins then something about Python and then the error again.When I try to open the program, it goes so fast that I can't see what's loaded and where it stops now.

May 23, 2009I bought a legit copy o photoshopAlbeit I bouhgt it from ebay, but it is definitely legit - not pirated , but a mfr sealed professionally produced copy of CS3 extendedI popped it open and found what I expected the documentation the DVD case with the training video and the serial number on the back. I installed CS3 extended and plugged in my serial number and was greeted with a shiny green check mark (please note this is not just some generic photoshop liscence it is recognized by the software itself). Then I began the activation nightmare that I am currently having. I clicked activateActivate nowThen I got an error telling me to pease try activating by calling customer care.I did that I went through the automated system with m serial numberand activation key and then it said it was unable to process so I retried. Still no luck, then I got a live person on the phone. Here is what they told me:You do not have a valid serial number...Odd, I thought, since your software recognized it as a valid liscence. I tried it in several other photoshop programs only to be greeted by a red x (liscence invalid) so the serial number I have is legit for photoshop CS3 extended, it just won't activate. I tried to tell them that. I asked them what proof they needed from me barcode copy of serial number scan of packaging anything. They told me I needed the reciept from an authorized reseller. I'm afraid I didn't see in the liscence agreement where the agreement between provider and end user was limited by their distributorship. Thank you to me too for buyinga legitimate copy and not going with a free alternative (paint.net as been fine in the past thank you).So I continued the discussion until I finally asked for a supervisor who was slightly more willing to talk about a way we could resolve the activation problem. I am stuck getting the original reciept from the seller to prove to Adobe that their product was in fact original purchased from them. You have to be kidding???!!!?!?!It is unactivated so we aren't even talking about a liscence transfer this product is supposed to be registered to me. And that still doesn't answer the question of how the serial number is recognized by the software and installation (meaning the serial to DVD matches) and the customer service people claim it is not valid. I even asked them to tell me if it was a liscence used as a known pirated copy or something that should invalidate it, but all they can tell me is that it is not valid for the product. If that is the case why print it on the label and affix it to the software?On the other hand perhaps it is just a database error on their part. What if I bought it from london drugs and lost the reciept how woul they handle that.

Oct 14, 2012Unable to use 3D repousse Photoshop CS5 Extended (my system info is described below)I tried almost everything that is available in Adobe library, also re-installed programs as requested by Adobe support (suspected to get rid of me), it did not solve the problem.
I used to have 3D capabilities, and also crop tool worked well before (now it changes all layers when using crop even in background). My PC is same, nor I downloaded plugins or changed video cards (these things are too advanced for me!), also restored preferences many times.
My system makes automatic updates, reviewed graphics and adobe as recommended. OpenGL settings is odd …only can access basic, other modes are not highlighted (normal or advanced).
ERRORS (for 3D Text)
1-“Your 3D scene now exceeds the limits of lights and/or textures for the video card’s hardware-accelerated 3D rendering. As long as the limits are exceeded, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (e.g Repousse)will be disabled.”

The setup went fine. But, when it finished, it gave an error message saying that Adobe Photoshop CS6 didn't install or didn't install correctly. From there, I copied the error report/log it gave out:

Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.

Oct 6, 2012I have simple a 3D bottle shape created from about 16 points and I am trying to map a gif image on to it usning CS5. No matter what I have done (work from a new document, etc.) I always get the error message. I also receive this error when I attempt to map a jpg image on to the same shape. I have attempted this on three different Windows 7 machines running CS5 with the same result. When I try it with CS6 the program closes with a catastrophic error and no message. I do not receive this error using the default symbols. The gif and jpg images are imported and imbedded into the document and then moved to the symbols library.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Extended Lengths Of Multiple Grouped Lines?

I have a time consuming problem that I was hoping a work-around or solution could be found for.
Some background: I use CorelDraw sort of as a CAD file creation software. The tool I use traces out straight, horizontal and vertical lines. At times, there are areas that need to be excluded being processed over, so my design has holes and gaps in it. The tricky part is, the tool I use needs time to accelerate up to full speed before I want it to start it's process. This requires that I add the same length to every single line in the layer (different layers need different added lengths). The problem that I run into, is that if I select multiple groups of lines that are not the same length and try to extend them, CorelDraw sees them as one group and extends the largest lines the right distance, but shorter lines get a different percentage of the distance, and gaps get shifted. I put in pictures of what I am talking about (a before, a good, and a bad).
can I select all the lines in a layer and tell CorelDraw to add X length to all of them, while keeping their center positions the same? It would save me a good deal of time.
Photoshop :: Extended CS5 To Extended CS6 Cloud Install - How To Migrate Plugins
Aug 30, 2012Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
