I have tried it a variety of ways, opened photoshop and reopened with no luck with using text.
I downloaded the trial version of CS3 extended.
Just trying to type over an image for copyright, just a standard jpeg image file.
Everytime I try and use my adobe photoshop elements 8.0 it gives me an error of 148:3. When I click ok it closes my program.So now I can't work on my photos.

Now, when I step away from my computer for longer than 10 minutes a screen saver automatically comes on. Upon entering the password and getting back to the desktop, AutoCAD comes up with a FATAL ERROR:

I cannot disable the screensaver, I'm running AutoCAD Mechanical 2011 (updated with SP2); Windows XP Pro SP3, 3.25 GB RAM, Matrox M9128 LP PCIe x16 (Latest Driver) dual monitors.
Few days ago I upgraded my Photoshop to Cs6 extended. Every time when I want to open the Photoshop first I have error massage. (See screen shot), when I click OK the Photoshop loading normally. Numerous time I uninstalled the Photoshop and reinstalled, same issue.

All updates to Photoshop were installed last time I ran it with no problems.No new hardware has been installed since.Installed Classic Shell since last use, so I uninstalled it but the error persists.Installed Diet Tracker but they don't interfere with each on on the system at home so I know there's no problem there.Nothing else installed except Windows updates.I tried restoring back to the last time I used it still got the error, so undid the restore.I tried repairing Photoshop .no change.I uninstalled Photoshop, rebooted, installed Photoshop. it loaded slower then and the last thing I saw load was plugins then something about Python and then the error again.When I try to open the program, it goes so fast that I can't see what's loaded and where it stops now.
My computer had 37 viruses on it, and they got destroyed. This was a few days ago. Today, I click My photoshop cs5 extended and it gives me an error messege.Configuration Error uninstall and reinstall the product.
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of the screen.Error: 1 URI checked my presets, and the only folder there was the brushes folder. I can't find my CD anywhere!! I have a 32 bit windows xp.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a legit copy o photoshopAlbeit I bouhgt it from ebay, but it is definitely legit - not pirated , but a mfr sealed professionally produced copy of CS3 extendedI popped it open and found what I expected the documentation the DVD case with the training video and the serial number on the back. I installed CS3 extended and plugged in my serial number and was greeted with a shiny green check mark (please note this is not just some generic photoshop liscence it is recognized by the software itself). Then I began the activation nightmare that I am currently having. I clicked activateActivate nowThen I got an error telling me to pease try activating by calling customer care.I did that I went through the automated system with m serial numberand activation key and then it said it was unable to process so I retried. Still no luck, then I got a live person on the phone. Here is what they told me:You do not have a valid serial number...Odd, I thought, since your software recognized it as a valid liscence. I tried it in several other photoshop programs only to be greeted by a red x (liscence invalid) so the serial number I have is legit for photoshop CS3 extended, it just won't activate. I tried to tell them that. I asked them what proof they needed from me barcode copy of serial number scan of packaging anything. They told me I needed the reciept from an authorized reseller. I'm afraid I didn't see in the liscence agreement where the agreement between provider and end user was limited by their distributorship. Thank you to me too for buyinga legitimate copy and not going with a free alternative (paint.net as been fine in the past thank you).So I continued the discussion until I finally asked for a supervisor who was slightly more willing to talk about a way we could resolve the activation problem. I am stuck getting the original reciept from the seller to prove to Adobe that their product was in fact original purchased from them. You have to be kidding???!!!?!?!It is unactivated so we aren't even talking about a liscence transfer this product is supposed to be registered to me. And that still doesn't answer the question of how the serial number is recognized by the software and installation (meaning the serial to DVD matches) and the customer service people claim it is not valid. I even asked them to tell me if it was a liscence used as a known pirated copy or something that should invalidate it, but all they can tell me is that it is not valid for the product. If that is the case why print it on the label and affix it to the software?On the other hand perhaps it is just a database error on their part. What if I bought it from london drugs and lost the reciept how woul they handle that.
View 15 Replies View RelatedUnable to use 3D repousse Photoshop CS5 Extended (my system info is described below)I tried almost everything that is available in Adobe library, also re-installed programs as requested by Adobe support (suspected to get rid of me), it did not solve the problem.
I used to have 3D capabilities, and also crop tool worked well before (now it changes all layers when using crop even in background). My PC is same, nor I downloaded plugins or changed video cards (these things are too advanced for me!), also restored preferences many times.
My system makes automatic updates, reviewed graphics and adobe as recommended. OpenGL settings is odd …only can access basic, other modes are not highlighted (normal or advanced).
ERRORS (for 3D Text)
1-“Your 3D scene now exceeds the limits of lights and/or textures for the video card’s hardware-accelerated 3D rendering. As long as the limits are exceeded, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (e.g Repousse)will be disabled.”

Is it possible that I have a GPU Sniffer? all these terms I have learned recently =) but I have a healthy & capable graphic card and accepted by adobe standards.

an error received when attempting to drag a photo from the internet into CS3? Only happens when dragging from Firefox (havent tried explorer) into CS3. Can drag photos from photo manager into CS#....

Everything came in (surfaces, alignments, pipe networks) but text did not come in from a source drawing; the Source Dwg is a Pipe Network. The network came in but not the text. I opened the source dwg & the text is there. The Event Viewer is showing no broken references so what I'm I missing?

When you open the .idw, the table properties show the text correctly but the display is coming out messed up. I have attached a picture of what each looks like. I moved the table off the sheet for clarity.

I tried many times to paste excel table into autocad using paste special/paste link/autocad entities/. The first problem is that the table is coming out with text all over the place, not properly formatted. When I click on the table it's covered by some kind of frame or hatch-like. I am using 2010 Office pro Excel. See attached.

I uninstalled Photoshop CS5.1 ME (Middle Eastern) version from my 64bit operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium) and went on to install CS6 EXTENDED after a fresh restart (I also deleted remaining CS5 folders in "Program Files' Adobe directory"). The setup went fine. But, when it finished, it gave an error message saying that Adobe Photoshop CS6 didn't install or didn't install correctly. From there, I copied the error report/log it gave out:

Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.
I'm creating a text portrait in Photoshop CS5 Extended 10.0.4 x86 with all updates installed, running Mac OS X 10.6.8. I'd like to be able to draw a path and use the text tool to add text on the path. However, there are so many text-on-a-path layers close to each other in this file that Photoshop tries to outsmart me. Instead of allowing me to enter text along a newly-created path, it jumps to another nearby text layer at random and starts editing that layer.
I can only make the type on a path tool work if I drag the newly created path away from all the other text areas, enter the text, and drag it back. But as the portrait increases in complexity it's almost impossible to find problem-free areas to drag these paths to, and it's very time-consuming.

I have downloaded the trial for PSCS6 extended and every time I try to warp text, it stops working and closes.It says it is a DEP issue however, you cannot turn off DEP for photoshop?
Also, is it worth me deleting the program and re-downloading it... and if I do that, will my trial continue from its current point?
I am encountering an issue with my copy of Adobe CS6 Photoshop Extended which results in a random increase in the size of text when I try to adjust the size value.
whenever I drag-click the cursor to change the text size value, the input option randomly increases by an also random number of millimeters, suddenly blowing up the size of the text. It then allows me to drag-resize from that increased value. However, when I get to the value I want and release the drag-click it randomly increases the values again thus increasing the size much beyond what I had specified (again increasing the size!!). I am running Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended (ver. 13.0.5 x64) on an Early 2011 Macbook Pro i7 2.0GHz with 16GBs of RAM. The issue happens on both the built-in trackpad and my Wacom Tablet.
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I'm happy with the NX version, but if I want to upgrade to XT, how do I do it? I looked on the upgrade options for XT and upgrading from NX, is not there.

Is there a way to preserve the layer data when comng over to PS? I am going to start doing all work in PS and would like to convert my PNGs on FW to PSDs as needed. When I open PNGs in PS it seems to flatten the images.
I have a pdf that opens up in Acrobat with the viewable image but when I place it in PS it comes up blank.
