I have been using CS5 64 bit and recently my prints have printed darker than the screen. I recalibrated the monitor and then new icm is being used. I also have the correct icc for the paper. I switched back to CS5 32 bit and the problem goes away.
View 2 RepliesTried the same image printed using corel and Photoshop. same setup: let software handle color, color off in printer, same profiles and settings otherwise. the corel print is a bit darker and some colors are slightly different than the same image printed thru Photoshop.
I usually print designs created in corel as there is added text and graphic elements. Can't print those using PS. just odd there is noticeable color variations.
Prints from 2400 look good, but darker (about a stop darker) and bit more saturated that seeing on my calibrated Sony Artisan Monitor.
I can get good prints, but I now have to add an adjustment layer to files and lighten them all up, a real hassle. I don't remember this issue ever before.
I've tried all the different rendering intents.
My document prints fine from Illustrator with the paper setting as U.S. Letter but it clips the bottom of the image. So I select "borderless 8.5 x 11" and it no longer clips the image but it prints WAY darker, from golden do a dark gray brown.

I use Arial or Times New Roman ttf fonts for printing labels and texts and print out with a laser printer. I did not have any problem in the past up to CorelDraw X4. . All text came out black with X4. Recently, i upgraded to Coreldraw X5. When I printed shipping labels and texts with X5 in the same way as I have been doing with X4, the labels came out in faint prints. I could not use shipping labels printed with X5 for mailing out. I repeated installing X4 and X5. I see that something is wrong with X5. All labels and simple text prints are faint with X5. On the other hand, printing with X4 came out charcoal dark. I installed X5 on both home and office computers. Both gave the idential results. My computer runs Windows 7 professional. Printers are HP (office) or Samsung (home) laser printers. How to make prints darker? I am only concerned B & W print (not color because I did not try color printing yet).

When I work the photo (JPG, TIFF or PSD) to where it is what I want, the preview is darker in the print preview. Probably one f/stop in photo terms. And, THIS is how it actually prints.
What is causing that? And, is there a fix?
None of the "show paper color," etc. are checked, so that is not causing the difference.
I just updated my PS after a while to a newer version and now my screen is "shaking" like mad everytime I circle around the selected picture or close/further it with the navigator. I've calibrated. The printer is an Epson 4900. Photoshop is managing the colors. I did not download the no color management app.
I'm having trouble getting both of my printers to print out to the same tone/colour that is displayed on my Monitor. Neither are accurate
Is there anything I can do with my monitor settings, or my photoshop/illustrator colour settings so that what I see on the screen is what will be printed out.
The printers are :
1) Hewlett Packard 1220C
2)Epson Stylus 2100
They both print out differently.
For the HP printer I've looked at the 'Image Colour Management' and it states the 'ICM is handled by host'
For the Epson printer the Colour Management is set to 'Automatic: Windows will automatically select the best colour profile from the list of associated color profiles'
I know it's possible to change the Color Setting in Photoshop but I don't really know what to set it to, and who to set it so it's as close to my monitor display as possible. (I work with RGB colour)
I have 9 copies of the same image with a different develop preset on each one so to compare. How do you get Lightroom to show the preset used on the image when viewing in lightroom and when you print, how do you get the preset name included on the print so you can tell which preset is on each print? At present I have to note the preset down and then write each preset name on each photo to show I know what was used.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to REVIT 2013 and now many types of lines are not visible on screen- randomly it seems. Also, sometimes they don't print, either. I've tried increasing the fineness of the view, changing the material definitions, etc. Most often this is happenning when I have opened an old file and had it automatically update the file. Also, it seems to happen within asurface texture, but it is not limited to that circumstance.

When I print it out on my epson printer the text is much smaller. I called Epson and they said it must be a setting in GIMP. how to correct this? The file is a .png file.

Just installed CS6 on my new workstation and Photoshop; it freezes upon opening.Every other program I have installed has worked flawlessly, including the rest of the CS6 Suite and Lightroom 5.Both Windows and the Adobe Suite have all available updates already installed.Computer is a new HP Z420 Xeon Workstation, Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 16GB Ram.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 (64bit), when using the brush tool (with a brush with pressure sensitivity activated), I quite often get a line drawn at the max width selected, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. Everything goes back to normal after I start drawing another line, and happens again after a few lines. It's quite random.
I don't have this problem in any other software (Illustrator CS6 64bit, Painter XII, Sketchbook Pro, Zbrush, ...). I have already checked and I've found some other users on other forums with the same problem.
One example, with a picture of the problem: [URL] Another one, exact same problem: [URL] Some of those users seem to have solved their problem by installing an old driver (6.1.5r3), but they had that problem with Intuos TABLETS in the first place, not a Cintiq 24HD... I have tried that, but unfortunately the driver is not compatible with the Cintiq 24HD.
To test this out: I've been able to reproduce the problem 90% of the times I've tried. if I keep the pen at 1 inch from the display so that it's still recognized by the screen but it's not drawing, then wiggle it a bit, and then I slowly move to the screen and tap it (as if I was starting a line with very low pressure), the problem appears and it makes a large dot, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. As I said the test doesn't work every time, but almost.
This is an image of what happens when I try and make dots in Photoshop. These are done trying to push the pen with the same (low) pressure. The big ones are from when the issue appears: [URL]
I have tried the pressure test in the Wacom utility software and it seems to work fine, it never jump to full even when I try the method I've just described. In the diagnostic page of the Wacom utility software the pressure is always correct, even when in Photoshop there's the brush sensitivity issue.
note: I've already tried to completely re-install my computer + the Adobe software + the lastest wacom driver for my Cintiq 24HD, and the problem is still the same.
Both Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit) and Premiere Pro (64 Bit) Crash on Start up. 32 bit version of Photoshop works fine.

Both are referencing cooltype.dll. I ran Font Doctor on all system and non-system fonts and found no errors. Booted without Extensis Suitcase loading. Nothing works. All 32 bit programs work fine.
I set levels in photoshop and then when I open them on my PC in Windows picture viewer they are much lighter and overexposed looking. How do I set up my photoshop CS2 to be at the same level.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I have for a long time been an advocate for the darker interface, using it mainly in After Effects. So it's great that the CS6 apps have taken this to other apps in the Suite. However Save for Web has been missed out it seems. Anyone else think this should be able to be darkened like the rest of the PS interface?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I save an image in PS (it happens with tif and jpg) and then open it, it looks different from the original psd--usually darker or harsher contrasts. (Yes, I understand the compression factor for jpgs will change the image, but it also happens with tifs.) I also notice people making comments about photos whose details I can't see until I copy and paste it into PS. I know this probably doesn't make any sense, but I don't know how else to explain it.
See the grass in the foreground? In the forum I'm viewing the original, I cannot see the grass at all. Yet, when I copy and paste it into PS, there it is! I thought the Adobe Gamma corrected the whole monitor, not just for PS.
I was using Adobe Bridge to combine sets of 3 photos with different exposures to create HDR images and sending them to Photoshop. So far today I made 20+ such images and successfully saved them into PSDs.
I just ran into an odd problem. After clicking 'Merge to HDR' in the Bridge -> Photoshop option, Photoshop did it's thing of merging my 3 images. The preview window came up, it looked perfect, so I clicked 'Ok'. Then it created an Untitled document (as it always does), except that this image is much darker than what was shown in the preview. I tried doing some light adjustments, can't get it to be what I saw in the preview window.
All of my other HDR creations were exactly the same as I saw in the preview window. What's going on?
in photoshop CS4, I use Adobe RGB (1998) as my working profile. I open a document, I change it's profile from RGB, using "view"-"mode", to anything else, say Lab, and everything is fine up to now, but then I undo the change, and what I get is a darker image than before. I don't get the original image I opened. Same thing happens if I use the "convert to profile" option also.
I close the image and reopen it, it still looks darker. I restart photoshop and open the image, only then I get the original image with normal colors again. This happens only when I convert back to RGB, not from RGB and not between any other profiles.
at some point, change the color profile from RGB to any other profile and then back to RGB the image looks darker, and the only way to fix this is restarting photoshop. this didn't happen in any versions before cs4, what should I do?
After installeing CS4, all my images now look darker in PS. They all look at least 20% darker. I still have CS3 installed, and when I look into CS3, they images now also look darker. But when I flip back to Windows, all images look ok.
I thought it might be Adobe gamma - which I had disabled previously because it conflicts with my color spider calibrator. Sinec installing CS4, I looked in the startup folder of windows, but Adobe Gamma is not there... So I wonder what could possibly be affecting the way the images are showing in PS.
I tried a few different proofing methods in PS, but to no avail (only MAC proofing shows the image closer to what it should look like, but it's still not it).

After I edit images in Lightroom 4, I export the jpg images to a new folder. When I open the jpg's in Photoshop or Bridge they are noticeably darker than they were when exported from LR.

Before I throw out my Epson Pro Stylus 3800 and PS4 software I thought I would ask one more time. I calibrate my monitor, I have taken photoshop classes, been on webinars for calibrating my monitor, etc. And no matter what I do, my photos print several shades darker than what I see on my monitor. I use no color adjustment in my ps print settings as well as my printer settings.
