Photoshop :: CS3 - Download Disk On Newer Laptop - Getting Setup Has Encountered An Error?
May 24, 2012
I have PS CS3 on a older laptop. I have been trying to download the disk on a newer laptop. I keep getting Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Internal error 2739. how to get the program downloaded?
I have an i7 2760QM XPS L502x laptop and for several reasons it won't be possible for some time to add the SSD I am eying (Samsung 840 Pro 512GB or Crucial M500) . Therefore I was wondering if I bought a less expensive SSD, lets say around $100 and stuck it in an external eSATA or USB 3.0 caddy if I would see a difference in speed when using it as a scratch disk. If so, would placing the files I am working on on that drive be beneficial compared to the slow internal one I have now and do you all have any recommendations on what caddy to buy? If it changes anything I am running Photoshop CS6 64-Bit.
Windows 7, had everything working fine. Added SSD and installed system from scratch on SSD. Old drive is now my second drive. Â Trying to put the scratch disk on the second (old) drive to reduce wear on the SSD. But every time I do, I get the disk error message and it erases all my settings (so annoying!) Â I figure it's a permissions thing since I've had to deal with that already to some degree, but I don't know how to fix it since I don't know where adobe is trying to save the scratch file.
when I was trying to save an image as a PNG, I pressed save then clicked OK on the small PNG Options / Interlace box and then the program completely crashed, encountered an error and needed to close. I tested saving things as PNG and it happened over and over again. It's only happening with PNG, not with any other formats. Can anybody please help? PNG is a format that I need to use and it is becoming very frustrating! I don't know if this help but the Error signature says:AppName: photoshop.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.0 ModName: png.8biModVer: 10.0.0.0 Offset: 00001f44
i am installing CS5 on my iMac and at 64% complete (installing Adobe Device Central CS5.5) it asks me to insert Disk Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 to continue. But all my files are download installs so of course I have no DIsk.
I get an "Online Services encountered an error" message when I try to upload a video to Facebook or YouTube. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on a Windows 8 machine
I bought Photoshop CS2 some time ago. I got a new mac (OS X 10.8.2) and when I'm trying to install it I introduce the cd, accept and after it copies the files, appears "The installation failed" The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
While trying to do a full backup to an external hard drive, I am getting a message "error encountered while writing file" after about 75% of the 14,000 photos. I believe I have traced the problem to a missing slide show presentation program that was on an external hard drive (F) I no longer have. The program still works (from the C drive), however if I click on the program thumbnail in the Organize screen (which points to the F drive), and try to delete it, I get a message "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may be a problem with the source media." I believe that is because it is looking for the program on the non-existent F drive. What can I do to enable a backup?
I am trying to move my catalog from a Windows xp computer to a new Windows 7 computer. In attempting to do so I an trying to make a backup of my catalog. When I attempt to make a full catalog backup I get an error message at the end of the writing of the backup file. The message is: "Error encountered while writing file." Â The images are written to the backup file (> 20,000 images) and the Catalog.buc is written as well, but the Backup.tly is missing in the backup folder.I have gone thru my catalog and have found no unconnected files and no file that are in need of repair. Everything seems to be in order with the catalog.
Everytime I open up a file in Photoshop, it says, 'Linotype Fontexplorer version fc4 or newer cannot be found'.  I recently deleted that program, how can I get Photoshop to stop looking for it?
I bought the VideoStudio x5 yesterday. When i try to open the program, a message appears:
The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning. Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis
This morning when I started Revit 2013 and tried to open a file that I was working on last night, I got this error: "encountered an improper argument." The file will not open. Â I tried to open a different file, and I get another error saying "An unrecoverable error has occured. The program will now be terminated.... " Revit will close. Â I cannot open any files, or get Revit to run. Is my installation corrupt? Do I need to re-install or is it possible to try a repair?
2. I have downloaded and applied the patch that was released. Â I can open, edit, and export my files just like pre-Mavericks; however, when I go to import them into Premiere via Import, I get an import error: Â "The importer encountered a generic error." Â Oddly, when I look at the exported files in Finder (which, by the way, do not throw an error during the export process -- I have clean logs), I don't have a preview thumbnail like I did before. Now, it's a placeholder Quicktime logo. Hitting space bar to preview them only offers the information window, which show "Zero KB" as the file size... but in Finder, it clearly shows the correct file size. Â Opening the files in Quicktime gives me a "converting" message before opening (these are .MOV files that shouldn't need converting at all), and exporting them from QT won't allow for an Alpha channel, ruining the transparency of the lower third.
I receive this error when testing eTransmit for Revit 2013. "etransmit encountered an error while trying to contact the server". Oddly, it is only a problem with on host, and not the other.
LR locked up and I had to force close. Now everytime I try to open I get and error message 'LR encountered-an error when reading from it's preview cache and needs to quit'
I'm having a hard time creating MP4 HD files. It's always gone well, but recently it seems that I get to around 99% rendering, and then it crashes. I get the message "The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning"
I'm running an older dual core intel T2080 CPU with Vista, nothing fancy. It seems to happen with videos that are around an hour and a half. If I keep my videos to around an hour it will complete the rendering process. I am able to see the final 8GB file that was created, but it won't play as the rendering wasn't 100% finished with the longer video. This whole thing happens on different PC's so it's not my program installation.
Working in LR 3.6, Mac OS10.6.8, 8GB RAM, accessing from an external USB 2TB harddrive, and when opening an image I get the error: Â "Lightroom encountered an error when reading a catalogue file and needs to quit. Â "Lightroom will attempt to diagnose the problem the next time it launches." Â I've run "Optimize Catalogue" and that didn't relieve the problem. Also have deleted preference files and still no joy. I also have upgrade to LR4 in hopes that it will fix the problem and it didn't. So I've removed LR4 for the time being until I can figure this out in LR3. Â Here is a screen shot:
I keep getting this error message in LR 4: "encountered an error when reading its previous cache and needs to quit". I've restarted my computer a few times, but it keeps coming up. I got online and found some posts that say "go in Library and " or other posts. The problem is my LR screen is grayed out and I can't go into it at all.
I have the 30 day trial version of Lightroom. I was able to use it for one week, but the past 1.5-2 weeks, it has been locked up and giving this error message. How do I resolve the problem? And how do I reset the 30 day free trial? I would like to have time using the product, before deciding on the annual contract.  "LR encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit. Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem the next time it launches."
so i recently restored my computer back to factory settings .. so my computer doesnt even have any new downloaded app .. i download photoshop cs6 now im getting scratch disk errors ..which i dont see possible if my computer doesnt have anything on it (besides what it came with) my hard drive has 276 gb i only used 33 . i made an external hard drive and that has 8 gb ... also its moving very slow .. also its telling me i cant make an new canvas size 1920 x 1020 with an resloution of 300 .. im using windows 7 Toshiba
Some saved files will not reopen in CoreldrawX5 showing an error message 'Encountered an improper argument' and that is it! Â Very frustrating as all the work seems to be lost and needs to be redone.
This document has been damaged by a disk error. The most likely causes of this error are: a defective disk drive, a defective disk drive cable, or incorrect peripheral cable termination. Some of the pixels in this document may be invalid.
System specs: MacPro3,1 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon OS 10.6.8 18 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT graphics card Photoshop 12.1 x 64 Â So I just purchased and installed my first copy of an Adobe Suite and now I can't print. Back story: I had CS4 on my machine from my last job and it printed fine. When I lost my job, I went the legit route and installed the demo for CS 6 until I was able to aquire my own copy. CS 6 also printed fine.
I found a version on eBay of CS 5.5 and was eager to install. Yes, it is a full legit version with original disc and packaging; the seller even went so far as to have the liscence transfered over to me. I used the "AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool" to remove all previous versions before doing a clean install of CS 5.5. Everything else in the suite seems to be running normally except printing. Â I've looked on the forums and tried several of their suggestions to no avail: 1) I tried changing the "Color Handling" in the print options box. 2) I tired running it in 32 bit mode. 3) I tried fixing permissions. 4) I trashed my preferences and tried the Shift-Option-Command trick 5) I updated the Adobe software (no updates for Photoshop) 6) I reinstalled my printer drivers. Â I just printed last night from CS 6 and now no luck today.
