AutoCAD Inventor :: Sheet Metal Part Has No Flat Pattern Button?
Dec 19, 2011I have a sheet metal part that is not showing a flat pattern button in the ribbon (two parts actually). Please see the picture attached. The workflow for this part is as follows:
1.) Create a master/skeleton sketch of my floor plate layouts for a platform I am currently doing
2.) Derive that sketch into each floor plate part
3.) Extrude the layout sketch
4.) Convert the standard ipart to a sheet metal part
5.) Set my sheet metal rule to match the thickness
6.) Add a flange to represent a stair nosing
7.) Look to my Ribbon to create a flat pattern and....
As a test, I created a new standard ipart (no derived sketch) and converted it to a sheet metal part, added a flange, and still no flat pattern button.
This can't possibly be by design, so what am I missing?

Jan 17, 2005Well, ran into an interesting filter result which looks similar to molten metal or something you would get with meta balls in a 3d program. Preety easy to get it too, just use your filter-render-fibers (default setting will work) then your filter-sketch-plaster (again, default settings may work) and whola. Nov 7, 2005I downloaded a website layout done in Photoshop and was hoping to modify it to fit my own info. At the top it uses a menu bar with blue text. When the site is opened in its html view all text is blue. When a link is clicked that word turns orange. This is not a rollover effect because Imageready does not have a slice with an effect for it. When I try to edit this text something is changed with the properties of it. In the layers window the T to indicate a text box is grey. After I replace the text with my own the T box is it's usual white and the effect no longer works. If you don't understand this explanation Please email me and I will send you a photo of what I am talking about. This is not a rollover effect. how to do it and I don't know why my changing the text to my own deletes the effect.

Jan 21, 2011I am trying to create the effect of ripped or torn metal. The effect is a piece of metal with a hole in the middle and very irregular curled up bits of metal around the edges of the irregular shaped hole.
My problem is I dont know how to start off. Should I start with a solid piece of metal (a very thin box) and then create the hole after that or should I create mesh that is similar to the end shape.
I dont have any plugins but I would buy if they could speed up this process. I looked at FumeFX but it appears to be for animation and i dont want any animation. The output is for graphic design.

Mar 14, 2013How can I detect sheet metal cut and extrusion cut features that have the white circular model browser node icon wih the "i" insided it (toolip says "No effect?") via the Inventor API? You get this situation if the sketch does not cut any geometry. I want to delete these features.

if I just highlight the button and change the color, it turns the button into a flat color.

Photoshop :: Making A Button Cropped Out Of A Whole File NOT Look Like A Button
Aug 3, 2004I have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
AutoCAD LT :: Enlarging Button Icons On Toolbars No Button Image Editor In CUI
Jan 2, 2013I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

Illustrator :: High Raster Effect Resolution In Large Document Makes Effect Disappear
Feb 18, 2013I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

Repro: Import any footage to a new project - any resolution or frame rate. Create new composition from clip. Type in "Crop" in effects search Double click to load it. Result is an effect called "Wigglerama" & "transform" gets loaded instead of the required "Crop" effect

Jan 3, 2006I am trying to get this to really look like gold. I've played around with the curves and when I get the majority of it looking like the right color, the lighter spots where light reflected off of the piece get far to white. I run into the same problem with duplicating the backround layer and changing the blend mode to screen. Any thoughts?
